I was on my way home from Connecticut (to New Hampshire) and on the scenic route. I was getting pretty hungry, so I decided I would pull over at the first sub shop I found. Enter Alessio's. The menu was pretty straightforward for a sub shop. I didn't want to hang around to eat there, since I had a long drive, so I ordered a Chicken Parm sub to go. The dude who took my order was friendly and courteous. I used the restroom, while I waited. It was clean. While I waited for my sub, a guy came in, looking for a job as a delivery driver. He looked like he was in his mid-thirties and he explained that he had just left a job as a delivery driver for another pizza shop. I remember thinking it was weird for someone of his age (and presence: he was clean-cut, polite, and well-groomed) to be a delivery driver for a pizza shop. Note that this was back 2 months ago, when the average person did not yet understand that the role of this guy was what made the world function semi-normally. How far we have come in two short months. Anyway, the dude at the counter told the job-seeker that the owner was, in fact, looking for a delivery driver. He took his information, cell number and would give his details to the shop owner. I wonder how that worked out. Meanwhile, a pleasant hipster girl called to me that my sub was ready.
