Up until today I'd never bought anything here before. I've gone in here a couple times in the past just to check things out, but have not ever really seen anything which caught my eye. Most of their inventory seems to be geared toward a younger crowd in my opinion. Between some of the pointy toes or chunky heels, a lot of what they have just does not suit my tastes. Besides, I probably would not even be able to walk two steps in some of those heels without falling over and breaking a bone! At my age, that is the last thing I need, to fall on my face becaue I'm trying to look like a twenty-something year old, lol!!
But today I did actually find something, which kind of surprised me a little. Their clearance sale on boots made my decision even easier, (not that I needed another pair of boots to add to all the ones I have already.) In fact, not that I really needed another anything which is at all shoe-related, lol! The pair I did pick out was not only practical for me where I would actually be able to walk in them but I also liked the style of the toe box. That is the first thing I look for in a shoe. Instead of being to rectangular or square which kind of reminds me of witch's shoes, I liked how it was more tapered and rounded off. But that's just my personal peferenc.e. The heel was also a manageable height, and was not chunky like a lot of the other styles which I don't like.
The salesgirl who helped me was very pleasant, and also patient throughout the whole process. I must have tried on at least four or five pairs before finally deciding on the one I got. The salesgirl who waited on me was still very pleasant, each time I 'sent' her back into the stock room to get another pair. She did not seem at all put off and did not make me feel like I was a nuisaince or a bother to her either. That was certainly refreshing because I've been in other stores before where sometimes an employee treats a customer like they are a bother, when it's the customer who pays there salary in a sense. But I did not feel that way at all with the staff at Aldos. I thought they were pleasant and willing to help.
I don't know if maybe they are paid on commissions and that might have been part of the reason for her being so nice and helpful. Whatever her reasons, it does not really matter. She was pleasant and very obliging, which actually worked out for her - or the store (whichever), because I ended up buying two pairs.Lucky for me, they had a duplicate pairs in my size. Based on my pleasant experience here today, I would be inclined to return back in the future... But not to buy any clunky "witch" shoes, lol! read more
