Peggy had a bad day" I'm honestly disappointed. Usually my experiences at Aldi is always a pleasant one. Almost to the point where I've said "thank you for being so nice" to a cashier that normally works there, it's just unfortunate that today was not the case. I had maybe 6 items which I already had a bag for so I didn't bother to grab a cart that I'd normally do when I'd come to shop. I put my items down and the cashier at the register said " Peggy is is about to open you can head over there. I get it, she was probably about to leave for the day or whatever but I did what I was told and placed my items on the next runway It was OBVIOUS that Peggy was already having a bad day so as she came to the register I smiled and said "thank you" Peggy then started tapping her hand and and firmly said "next time if you needed money for a cart we have it right here!!" I apologized and said " well I only have a few things and thought that it would not be a problem " Guess I was wrong because she then said with the same tone "well when you don't have a carriage it slows me down!!" I looked over at the next customer and she had a FULL cart of items so the next transaction was going to take a little more time than my 6 items which she jammed into the bag I had. But she wasn't done, after telling me my total she blurted out " you see how expensive things get?!?! " I just said thanks and told her to have a better day and left I'm coming off of a 10 hour shift and still needed to head home and cook for my family. I didn't need her attitude whatsoever. I can guarantee that if the tables were turned and it was me I probably wouldn't have a job any longer. I wanted to call and ask to speak with a manager but I felt that this would work just as well. I've been to Aldi's before but never realized there was one this close! My first time visiting an Aldi's was the location in Medford and I have to say, this one in Walpole is much cleaner and newer looking. The prices at Aldi's cannot be beat and I would say, is the perfect place to go for groceries if you don't need much of it, similar to the portion sizes sold at Trader Joe's. One thing I noticed was, their cheese selection is IMMACULATE! Literally perfect for charcuterie boards and doesn't break the bank. Ahh finally stopped into Trader Joe's brother's spot, Aldi. This location is in a nice plaza, ample parking with many other businesses, food, golf, etc. they have a lot of items that we had been interested in via social reels and shorts. Prices here are similar to TJ's but even slightly cheaper. The variety of items and the availability may vary, it was a bit scarce but we found our groceries, grass fed beef block, plenty of berries, blueberries, black razz, cheeses, salami, prosciutto, snacks. Easy simple, cashiers were nice, staff were trying to restock items. The store overall was cleaner than other locations but still a bit tightening up to do. Great prices, can grab needs for dinner, and you feel good about how far your money went. Will be back around! read more

My experience was fine until I got to the cashier. I requested $100 back, she gave me $100. I asked if she had $20 as I had to give lunch money to my kids. She reluctantly provided the $20's as she told me that this was not a bank. Who says anything like that to a customer that has just spent over $300 in the store? They need to train their staff. Good price, especially in today's economy. Be careful with mold in produce, so pick your selection carefully. There is no self checkout at this location. When you come in the afternoons, typically the produce/fruit is gone. Hard to find parking on the weekends. read more

I know many people complain about Aldi stores because of the "warehouse" look and the limited selection of national brands, but if you shop a few times, you will be able to find items that you can trust and you can enjoy time after time. They carry a nice selection of snacks and chocolates (national brands as well as European and private label brands). I liked this store in Walpole because it was very convenient to get to (close to I-95 and right on US-1). read more

There is a new cashier at Aldis in Walpole MA. She is very nosy, disrespectful, and has a terrible customer service. She made me feel very uncomfortable when I went shopping at Aldis two times in a row because of her comments, unprofessional attitude and awful customer service. She should be properly trained to provide at least acceptable customer service or let go if she doesn't change her behavior. She should mind her business and keep her inappropriate comments and attitude to herself! Aldis might have a few items that are priced less, but their customer service is the worst when compared to other competitors. I always go to buy my veggies to Aldi, but I had a really bad service the cashier Allen, was rushing me. He was telling me to put the food in the shopping cart, because he has to keep moving the line and I was with my grandma and she's so slow, I hope he gets suspended. I argue a little bit with him because he was rushing me and throwing my cantaloupe my grapes, my tomatoes all over the carriage and I'm not making a show of this, but it was a really bad environment because of this guy.Allen read more

I really like Aldi. Aldi finds has unique items for great prices. Most food, produce, bakery and frozen items I have tried have been good in quality & price. Employees are usually friendly. My only issue is the checkout process. Yesterday I encountered a long line. Line went straight down the candy/frozen aisle. Two different ladies pretended they didn't know this and snuck right in front of a friendly older lady. Fine, if the older lady was the only one in line, but this was not the case. 6+ people were in back of her. This could have turned bad quickly if someone in line started to express themselves and sometimes that gets everyone upset causing a lot of tension. A second line did eventually open up and those 2 ladies who cut everyone in line did of course head right over to the newly opened line, but people were clearly disgusted. Not saying this is an Aldi problem as people are ignorant, however every time I go in to that location I see a long line which opens up the potential for issues like this to happen. How about opening another line when you clearly see the store getting busy. Also when a second register opens maybe "next person in line" needs to also be part of the opening process. How come Walpole does not have self checkouts? Just curious. Seems to work in some stores, why not Walpole? I do 100% think the employees I have encountered have been very nice and professional, however I always feel rushed out the door. I barely have my credit card out and they are moving onto the next customer. I understand this is the "Aldi" way & getting customers out is what they are trying to accomplish, but I always feel rushed, instead of opening an additional register, the cashier must rush you out so the line will move faster. read more

Well, I'm not really surprised by the one star reviews here. A couple of things to note: make sure you bring a quarter for the shopping car (I believe it's a standard system in Germany) and double check fruit package quality to see if there is mold (which honestly happens at other stores too). Otherwise, it's a spacious and clean store. Plenty of parking space in front as part of the Walpole Mall. I mainly come here for fruit, vegetables, and canned food. The frozen selections are rather limited. There is no paper or plastic bag at checkout so bring your own or just bring them to your car! read more

We shop at Aldi for good price. Shopping experience is generally positive. However, the staff in this store (Aldi Walpole MA) are under a lot of stress, especially for the guys who shelf the stocks. There are a few circumstances when we asked for advice / direction and were told by the staff that he does not know. We know he knows but he might not have the time to help. There was another incident that he yelled at my daughter (4 y/o) for eating 1 grape (because they sell by the pound). We know that was wrong but we were hoping he would not speak so loud to scare her and made a scene out of it. Today, I was looking to get some fruit and noticed the ones in the cart/trolley look a lot better than the ones on the shelf so I asked if I can pick from the cart/trolley. The young man gave me a smirk and said to my face "ABSOLUTELY NOT". I did not know why that was because all the fruits will go on the shelf eventually anyways. I wish he could have said "sorry madam you can't take it from here because of what reason" instead of a mysterious smile then a harsh "ABSOLUTELY NOT". I understand the stress of the job (and I have one too) but under no circumstances one should lose their professionalism in a customer-facing setting. Anyways, the ladies working as cashier are sweet and always say hi to my daughter and tell her how adorable she is, so much so my daughter asks to go through their aisles when we pay for the purchase. So there are some nice people who make us want to come back. We think we will still come back because the price is hard to beat. But we hope the corporation could do something to alleviate the stress of the staff so they have time to breathe and respond to the customers nicely and politely when helps are needed. read more

This place has the best prices and is clean! You get what u pay for. This is a budget mart, don't come in with bougie expectations.

Recently in Ireland where Aldi is a staple. Gave the local one a try. Great value and much more cost effective than Stop and Shop. Could use some more variety vegetables but great value. Potato salad portion huge. Meat and bread excellent. Bring your own bags and a refundable quarter for the cart and you are on your way. read more

First off, who has quarters to unlock the shopping carts, I get it, they get returned but seriously I hate having to carry change. The shelves were bare, ok it's a pandemic. Product selection and brands were of ones I haven't seen before, but packaging looked ok. Then at checkout, they expect you to swap carts, ok in theory it should be more efficient as you unload your cart the cashier puts your items in the new cart. But again, we are in a pandemic and I just wiped down that specific cart I took. Ugh, prob won't be back. read more

second time here, first i bought yogurt & several other things, the store just opened and the food was already spoiled!!! i ate the yogurt and was sick for 2 day span. then what did i do, i was silly enough to go back and try for some souirdough bread, i love it and hey, how can i go wrong with bread right. wrong when i got home i looked at my loaf of bread and the back of it had been chewed on by some kind of rodent and there was a chew and bite mark on the wrapper and right through to the bread. if anyone shops here please STOP. nothing is fresh i think they leave this crap in the trunk of a car before they open. i wouldnt feed my dog anything from this place, its the worst shopping experience i ever had in a supermarket in my life. alos the store just opened 2 weeks ago, all people please beware! read more

They have great prices and a diverse selection. I do like shopping here when I have a quarter. However, nobody carries quarters anymore. I have been here twice where I had to wait in line for 15 minutes just to get a quarter so I can get a carriage. Either put a quarter machine outside or get rid of this archaic policy. I've also went in and went out because I just didn't have time to wait to break a dollar. read more
