We got a basket of strawberries for $17 which honestly really isn't the bad for the number of strawberries you get. And you can really pack them pretty high in the basket. We also got some strawberry salsa from the gift shop, which was pretty good but it was a lot more sweet than is was spicy. The staff members we talked to were all very nice as well!

We were there for around 2 hours and our daughter had an absolute blast. They take you by tractor to the strawberry fields which the kids love and they also have a little general store with homemade food items for sale. In their dessert barn, they sell a little bit of strawberry everything! We opted for a small vanilla and strawberry icecream cup as well as a strawberry lemonade to devour on the spot but had to have the strawberry cobbler to take home. They also had strawberry cake by the slice or whole. We topped the trip off by using spare pocket change to buy feed for the goats. Apparently it's a 2 year olds dream to feed the farm animals (lol). We also took a look inside their animal barn where rabbits, turkeys, lambs, chickens, and peacocks roamed around in their respective pens. This is definitely a spot our family will make a yearly tradition for a fun filled strawberry outing!

It was my first time at the Publix location on Gate City Blvd. in Greensboro, NC. In "typical"…read morePublix fashion, it did not disappoint. The parking lot was immaculate, with no debris in sight and shopping carts corralled. Upon entering, there are recycling bins and plastic bag returns, also neatly maintained. The store is clean and airy, with the happy buzz of employees dressed in green going about their tasks. To demonstrate the quality of this particular store, and what impressed me the most, I have a story. I was there for a specific item (although I left with $50 dollars worth of other items, but I digress), and was having difficulty locating it. Ben, the store manager was busy stocking shelves and was coming down the frozen food aisle, so I stopped him to inquire. Without hesitation, he kindly looked up the item, checked the stock, and found a boatload of what I needed (yay!) and then educated me on where the other plant-based items were in this specific store. Score! I had been to THREE other Publix stores (yes in three different cities...lol) on my search. This store has now become "Numero Uno" in my book. It was so well stocked and the employees were so helpful, that I will enjoy coming back again, and again, and I would invite anyone to do the same.

The team behind the counter is consistently helpful and patient. My orders are always completed correctly and ready for pickup exactly when promised. The quality of their cakes hasn't dipped not once over the years and that means so much for tradition. If you want a stressfree experience and a cake everyone will actually want a second slice of, this is the spot! Thank you!

Old North State Candy And Gifts

A Sweet Slice of Old-Fashioned North Carolina in the Heart of Chair City…read more This store is an absolute must-visit when you're in Thomasville -- or anywhere in the Old North State. Old North State Candy & Gifts is located in historic downtown Thomasville, diagonally across the intersection of Salem Street and East Main Street from the famous Big Duncan Phyfe Chair. I saw it from the Big Chair, and I'm very glad I walked over and wandered in. This is a classic hometown candy store -- the kind that feels like it belongs on Main Street in a Norman Rockwell painting. It has that warm small-town energy that immediately makes you smile when you walk through the door. They specialize in hand-crafted candies, including old-fashioned hard candy drops made in small batches. The selection is impressive: fudge, brittles, taffies, gourmet popcorn, chocolates, and hundreds of nostalgic and specialty candies from around the world. I was especially excited to find pecan candy rolls that reminded me of the classics from Stuckey's and Buc-ees. The interior is bright, clean, and beautifully organized, making it easy to browse. It's a welcoming space for families, tourists, and anyone with a sweet tooth -- or an Americana history enthusiast like me. I visited in early January, and the store was still decorated for Christmas, which added to the charm. The woman working that day was incredibly friendly and helpful, and we had a delightful conversation. I believe she may have been the owner, which made the experience feel even more personal and authentic. I left with a bag containing several flavors of taffy, maple-covered popcorn, and pecan candy rolls -- and they were OUTSTANDING. I'm still working my way through them and enjoying every bite. If you appreciate small-town charm, local businesses, and old-fashioned candy shops, Old North State Candy & Gifts is a true gem in downtown Thomasville.
