Coming early, usually everything is in stock. Granted their selection isn't huge like typical grocery stores. But what they have have great prices. I've been here twice so far, and I want to say the customer service really stood out. The cashiers and the "mellow" ladies working there are friendly, hardworking, and very respectful--especially toward customers with disabilities, which I truly appreciate. The stockers are polite as well, and overall the staff creates a welcoming environment. I was pleasantly surprised by the prices too--especially for fresh meat, fruits, vegetables, and dairy. Everything seems fresh and reasonably priced, which makes a big difference. I do wish this location were closer to my home. I know there's another one in Burbank, but honestly, I feel more comfortable coming to this one. It's also conveniently located near Walmart and other stores, which makes shopping easier. Excellent deals and prices! The store is very well organized making it easy to navigate through the store and find items efficiently! I've never had a bad experience at this location. The customer service is great. There are usually employees stocking the aisles with product and are always willing to help with any questions. The line gets really long, but the lines move fast. There is plenty of parking in the back. The parking spaces right in front of the entrance can be kind of tight so just park in the back if you are able to. This store does not only sell groceries, they have various household items and Holiday seasonal items as well. read more

This is the only Aldi I've ever been to so I can't compare it but I love this store. The staff are so friendly and helpful here! They're super quick at checkout too so even if there's a long line it goes quick! If you really look through the store you'll find some great unique items. I got groceries for the whole week for $160 and that includes some vitamins and oils I bought too! That would have been easily over $200 at my local Ralph's! They do have limited produce but it's always been fresh what they do have in stock. My only real downside is sometimes they don't have stuff in stock like I bought some burrata here I loved and was so cheap but it's been out a few weeks and still no burrata but honestly it's worth the trip here to save that $ and you can pick up a few items they didn't have elsewhere. I am writing this on the fly so forgive me for any typos. I have two Aldi locations to choose from since both are equal distance from me. One of the only reasons that I choose to panorama location is due to the surrounding stores that I need to purchase a few items. The last two times that I visited this store, the security guard (same one) follows me through out the entire store. I am not a thief nor do a wear any type of clothing that you can hide anything but this guy has profiled me for some reason and sticks to me like glue. He would walk through the isle I am in turn around and walk back in the same isle. I would walk through a different section, turn my head and there he would be. This was happening throughout my entire visit. The very first time I observed this, I decided to go to the Northridge store and just not deal with this guy. Today I was asked to go to Aldi and a few other stores in the area. So I decided Aldi's was going to be my first stop and sure enough the same guard doing the exact same thing. Honestly it's just more annoying than anything and quite a shame because I don't have a problem with the store or the staff. Hopefully someone in management might see this review and speak with the guy. read more

I absolutely adore Aldi. The prices are affordable and the staff are friendly. The selections are a bit limited but it's a small store. In order to get a shopping cart; you need to insert a quarter. Upon return of the cart, the quarter gets returned to you. My friend and I didn't have a quarter for the cart so we went to a cashier to get some change. We noticed that Aldi provided seats for their cashiers. We loved that they care enough about the well-being of their employees to provide them with seats. Marshall, our cashier was friendly and fantastic. His demeanor brightened up our whole mood. They have a touch-less hand sanitizer station at the from. Everyone is expected to social distance themselves like adults. There are circles in the floor at the cashier to signal to people what 6ft apart looks like and to encourage people to keep their distance. I would definitely come here again. Aldi can be a hit or miss, some items are discounted and some are overpriced. I have my staple products I come to this location for. Every now and then I find a newer item to try out. Produce can be overpriced, I'd suggest driving to your local Hispanic grocery store for produce, you'll always find better prices. The Aldi brand is actually pretty decent, I always say "don't sleep on store brand products". About this quarter situation, lol...yes it can be frustrating to add another task to grocery shopping but you know how to solve this? Keep a quarter in your car especially for your Aldi store trip, I call it my "Aldi" quarter and it stays in the same spot each and every Aldi trip made. Voila! Sure the item setup is not aesthetically pleasing and they carry some of the randomest items but isn't that what adulting is? Going to 3 different stores to get your entire grocery haul? Now the 3 stars is reflective of accessibility to the store itself (location) , a lot of the time shelves are empty, staff always seems to be in a rush and ring up items in the amount of time you're still working at taking your wallet out of your bag to pay. Like bruhh, take it easy you're causing me panic over here lol. During our trip, I made sure I was going to stop at an ALDI store. When we got there, I noticed the shopping carts were all locked to each other. The carts looked dirty, due to being outside in the environment. A small disposable wipe station is next to it, but easy to miss. After entering the store, it looked grungy. The floors looked dirty and the way the products are shelved made it look like a messy grocery store. I was disappointed. I did go down every aisle to see if I could find any unique items. There were a few, but nothing really special. I prefer Trader Joe's than this. Maybe another ALDI store may have been a better introduction for me, but this store just missed the mark. read more

I usually love Aldi, but today got home from unloading my groceries and took a look at my milk-- it expired THREE DAYS ago. I don't know why it was on the shelf for so long after it's expiry date, and now I feel I have to check all of my groceries to see if they're still good. A big annoyance for sure. EDIT:: (added new photos) went back to get a refund and new thing of milk, and saw that ALL of the 1% milk on their shelves expired on Jan 8th. New store, opened in Panorama City about June 2019. Owned by members of the same family that owns Trader Joe's. The target market for ALDI stores is lower income than Trader Joe's. Everything is a house brand. If you find items you like, you can save money on basic purchases like soups, spices, canned vegetables and condiments. Beware that the prices for specialty meats and cheeses are outrageously high. Might as well be Gelsons. You will do better with fresh deli cuts than the 3 ounce and similarly tiny pre-packs at ALDI. A few items like Extra Sharp Cheddar ($3 pound) and sliced round sour dough ($3 loaf) are good values (the cheese) and moderate values (the sour dough). It seems as if half of the entire store consists of housewares and lawn chairs and similar stuff. It is almost as if food is their sideline. Some food items are always loss leaders ($1 dozen eggs when I visited). The produce section is very poor. (Totally dry.) The 50 cent iceberg lettuce when I visited was tiny and super light in weight because it had not been kept hydrated. Lettuce should be bought by weight if you want it crunchy. One of the owners' fetishes is charging customers for use of the shopping carts. You can't get one without inserting a quarter. To me, it doesn't matter that they give you the quarter back after you pay for your merchandise. As a first "welcome" to the store, I think that the practice is an insult to their customers. My approach will be to bring my own small shopping bag, and to never make a "large" purchase at ALDI. I'll save that level of shopping for the other local markets with real produce sections and free shopping carts that say "We want you here!". From the number of autos that visit this store before its early 9:00 pm closing time, many people in Panorama City seem to enjoy this new resource. However I have not seen any full shopping carts. ALDI's limited food range probably reduces the average sale per customer compared with full-service markets. Even their obscure generic wines are priced too high for me to want to buy wine here. I do know that I will shop at ALDI for the items that seem to be a good value and will help my home food budget. UPDATE (2020-05-04): ALDI put in a big new open cold storage unit for temperature sensitive produce, and have made a big effort to clams the produce selection. During the shelter at home period, they are not using the 25 cent cart fee system and have an employee wwiping down the shopping carts with disinfectant. The store is more lightly used than bigger markets, but still busy. Going off hours to this ALDI makes a quick trip and, I think, a safer one. Somehow the chain manages to keep the basics in stock, including (usually) toilet paper. Thumbs up, ALDI. Rating elevated to four stars. read more

This location is hit or miss. I don't recommend going at night . The night manager is horrible. She is so rude. They never greet you and feel constantly rushed when shopping in the Pm. Everytime I asked for help the employee just sigh and make it sound like I just inconvenienced them. I definitely try to avoid shopping at night here. The morning team is so much nicer. Brent always brightens my morning. And the female manager in the morning was so nice and helpful. She reacted violently scaring my wife when she inquired about the pricing of a certain item. This manager that refused to give out her name has anger issues and lies to your face. There really isn't any reason to grocery shop anywhere else. OK, maybe still Trader Joe's. I am definitely adding Aldi to the rotation. It's Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and Cost Plus World Market, but less expensive for the most part. I am glad they opened up shop in this part of town while Whole Foods and Trader Joe's would not dare open up in Panorama City. I used to shop at Aldi when I am in Orange County for German products. My first time here. While it could use a lil housekeeping on the grounds - interior and especially exterior - the shelves where the food is stored was clean. Not too busy. Changing of the cashiers was done quickly and I waited less than 5 minutes to check out. Two men at the front - very nice and informative. I have to admit, I'm from the Bay Area and we have Trader Joe's but no ALDI. I thought ALDI was ok but truthfully, even though they are similar, I like the unique choices of TJs. ALDI seems to have more brand name and labels that are familiar but TJs has more unique items , especially snacks. Need employees to tell customers to stay in place especially if they are slow to check ppl out . Literally the worst Aldi and it's the only one in the valley for now. I used to drive to Simi Valley to shop there until I found out they opened this one. It's horrible. NOTHING IS EVER IN STOCK! I have shopped there as well as used Instacart and my items always get replaced or removed as there is never enough of anything. Whoever is managing this store needs to start ordering more so there is enough items for everyone. Their eggs are always BROKEN and if you ask anyone for any item that's is not on the shelf they answer with the typical "if it's not there we don't have it" they don't even check the back for you. I've never had this issue at other Aldi's JUST this one. Their employees are pretty much useless no one ever knows where anything is and they are basically teens or YA they are slow when checking out and slow at pretty much anything.
