Anyway, everything about the store is a win for me. I love the selection of produce, but sometimes they do run very low on things. They do offer a lot of products that are hard to find elsewhere and the quality is always really good . I don't go out of my way for organic, but they definitely have a really big selection Since Covid, I don't do hot bars, but they're premade meals are decent like the prime rib for like 10 bucks I found some of the best deals on really high-quality meat I've never been good at cooking steaks, but grabbed a Wagyu strip steak there for half off and it was easily the best thing I've ever made my family like their plates. Yes they're savages, but even they don't usually go that far. They have great selections of cheeses and ethnic spices that are hard to find in an actual supermarket so it's nice not to have to go to 20 different places. I love to cook, which means sometimes I need small amounts of spices if I'm trying something new so it's nice to be able to get most of them there. I think they originated in Ohio, so it's nice to see some of the Kroger offering since I lived there as a kid so it's nostalgic. The neighbor people that hanging out with the bar freaked me out a little bit not gonna lie. I don't get it. I can get behind one and have a drink as you walk through a grocery shopping but to go hang out at the grocery store for no reason, but to sit there and drink as people try to navigate their carts around you... yeah.... Weird. Sorry. Now here's what I definitely don't understand. Their cakes are so underrated unless I've just been walking through life with sunglasses in the AirPods. I have never heard anyone talk about how good their bakery is. They have a huge selection of premade stuff that isn't really their brand but the cupcakes that are made in the store and the cakes they make are incredible. The frosting for their buttercream, you can tell has actual butter in it most grocery stores around here for buttercream seem like they use shortening. I think Mariano's is fantastic and will definitely consider them when I need to order cakes in the future. The people there are also really helpful. My favorite is the woman that supervises the self checkout. She's incredibly friendly and helpful. She doesn't always come across that way initially because she doesn't seem outgoing but she really is great. I definitely say just throw this on your list of regular spots to shop.

In their bakery section, there is a shelf marked for Irish Soda Bread. It was empty so I we and spoke to one of the bakery employees and was told they no longer make the soda bread. In the past they have carried it, year round. I guess now they will limit it to St. Patrick's Day. Bummers ~ bring back the soda bread. Not having shopped there in a while, I was pleasantly surprised to see they are back to providing grocery bags. I did bring my own ~ but won't have to in the future.

These are big time $$$ differences and they add up. Watch out! As a consumer they should honor their mistakes. They said I should read. Today, I didn't bring my readers, sorry. But when you see 10 items on the shelf above the $9.99 sign, you would automatically think okay, it's $9.99, but at the register it's $12.99. I snapped a picture to prove that there were more than one box above the price. (I could have clapped back and said then your workers should read and be able to put things on the right shelf). Produce that's rotten is sold so make sure you are opening up boxes and packages. Wish I took pictures of the rotting produce. At least I didn't buy those. Saw my receipt that they charged $1.29/lb for my Korean radish which should have been 79 cents. UGH! Guys, pay attention to how they are ringing you up. Two transactions in a row with multiple mistakes. I asked to talk with the manager. The female worker said she is not here and will come at 12noon. Then said actually will come tomorrow. Went to the Customer Service desk and the guy there said the manager is in the bathroom. Both workers started to talk to each other in Spanish. The female worker telling him, tell her the manager is not coming back until tomorrow. I told them I can speak Spanish and I understood everything they said. They got quiet very quickly. They have many items in bulk, a large fruit and vegetable section, prepared items, meat and seafood and all the seasonings, rice, and noodles. We purchased a bunch of prepared food since we were hungry and the food stalls hadn't opened yet. Prices were normal Asian food prices - they did have a few sales going on. Overall we loved it and hope to bring a cooler and dry ice next time!

They have local produce year-round, even in winter, and some of the specials are really good. I'm really happy to have bulk spices available, and they have things here it's hard to find elsewhere (more kinds of organic cheese than Whole Foods, and they regularly carry organic parsnips and affordable organic citrus, for example). They had some local plums that were SO DELICIOUS that I've never seen anywhere and will definitely be looking for again. I also really like that you don't have to buy produce wrapped in plastic (cucumbers; bell peppers). The grab and go pizza is really tasty, and I'm a big fan of Bakehouse, who does their bread. They have cronuts every Friday. They even sell alcohol (which I don't really buy but maybe you do). They have a bunch of prepared foods and coffee, and they host regular events like a bring-your-own craft night, or a presentation on Mexican cuisine. Very cool. Service is friendly and the store is well-lit, with lots of parking and a small dedicated parking section right by the doors. Checkout is at these weird desks that don't really work (I guess there wasn't room for a real counter or a conveyor?) Overall, prices are somewhat high, and the canned good selection and frozen produce selection is fairly small. But if you like organic produce, bulk spices and high-quality baked goods and you're willing to pick and choose, shopping the specials, you should add it to your rounds.
