I always enjoy shopping at Trader Joe's. No matter which location I visit, the employees are consistently friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable, and the checkout lines move quickly, which makes the whole experience easy and efficient. My only "problem" is that I can never seem to leave without spending over $100, but that's more a testament to how many great options they have. I really loved Trader Joe's more than the average person - it's where I do majority of my grocery shopping every week and they've sucked me in, but happy to stay. :-) This location is laid out pretty similar to the Glen Ellyn location, which in my opinion, is not the best layout. TJ's is the home of Buffalo Burgers, Two Buck Chuck, and some of the smoothest hummus I've ever had the privilege to eat. They also stock many other "super" foods like Almond Mlke and Cookie Butter - a delicious spread that's a hybrid of pure butter fat and cookie dough. Pretty much all of the staffers I've run into here seem to be convinced that they're helping to save the Planet from the Evil Empire - no one seems to even suspect that they actually work for a national grocery corporation which is driven by shareholder satisfaction and maximizing profiles. That's all fine with me - I have no intention of letting the cat out of the bag and telling any of them that Santa Clause doesn't exist, or that the work they do is any less important than that done by the American Red Cross... This is a fun place to shop, with lots of great products at good prices. May all the hipsters in TJ's employ keep fighting the Good Fight, and manning the Winter Wall against the Night King and his White Walkers ;-) read more

I love me some Trader Joe's but they must have recently changed their recipe for the red boxed Mac-n-Cheese because I had to toss the 7 boxes I just recently bought. What the heck, if they were going to change the recipe to nothing but mushy, tasteless, noodles....you'd think they'd note the "new & improved" nonsense on the box. This place is full of prepackaged foods. If you're into frozen foods, you're set. I'm really more of a naturalist, but I'm always on a quest for protein and I like quick snacks that support those goals. There are so many good protein options, but my favorites are ready to eat shelled edamame and peanut butter protein granola. I also like tossing their black bean burgers in the air fryer. Other mentions have to be the garlicky stir fried cabbage, French onion macaroni and cheese and don't forget the ice cream choices. Customer service is great. Prices are great. First time coming here, this Trader Joe's layout felt nearly identical to the store I recently visited in Iowa City, IA. This store is bustling with people. There were so many great things on sale from the holidays that passed especially all of the pumpkin we related products for a dollar! Plenty of great healthy choices. When items aren't on clearance, it sadly does cost a lot more. Staff was really friendly and engaging with us on our visit. Left the store satisfied and my home well stocked. Solid store! read more

I live in Plainfield and travel to Trader Joes every other week to pick up goodies. They have items that no other stores have except, TJ's. They're stocked up on product and their customer service is great! No self checkouts which is wonderful because you get to talk to the person behind the counter. As far as TJ's goes, this is a smaller sized one. They do manage to pack a lot of options in here. But, I could not get all things needed for the week here. Not a lot of canned goods. Prices are decent, they never have "sales" tho. Nice frozen chicken and seafood. Produce is good. Excellent selection of nuts. Very helpful employees. Usually fast well packed checkouts. Small selection of beer, much more selection in wines, a bit of booze on shelves too. They also have a bit of vitamin supplements available. This is my go-to location, for convenience and due to all the good stuff listed in my last review. But I wanted to update today after extra help from the staff. In case you hadn't noticed, we live in Illinois, and it has snowed a lot lately! As always, the question becomes what to do with said snow, and usually the answer is, pile it in some corner of the parking lot. Which is ok except that one of these corners happened to be the driver's side of the handicapped parking space close to TJs door. (Note to plows: we aren't just passengers, we are also drivers!) I mentioned it to the two supervisors at the desk before I left, since I had had to park over the line to make sure both my car door and I would have enough room for the dismount (I swing both feet out, place them and my cane on the ground, then step out of the car, so I can't step into a snowbank). Rich walked out with me, looked at the snow, thanked me for telling the supervisors, said that they could shovel it out some more, and also took my cart back for me. It was very helpful of him, and I'm glad it wasn't just a "well, that's the plow's job" answer. I will say, this is one of my favorite stores to shop at as a person with a disability because it's not enormous, so I can manage it without getting exhausted. This morning I came in to buy some flowers to make my father a birthday bouquet and was surprised by a lovely variety and selection. 2 workers greeted me and complimented my selections. I absolutely love this location! Everyone is super sweet, friendly, and willing to help out however they can. Their samples and wine are also both bomb, and I go pretty bananas over their limited edition and holiday items. This location also does a lot for the community, which I think is really awesome. Obviously, the food selection is wonderful, and you're pretty much guaranteed to find something you like and want to come back to. This location is also pretty big - when comparing my experience to my friends' experiences at other Trader Joe's locations, it simply doesn't even compare. They often have items that other locations are out of. I know the staff personally because of how much I love shopping here, and everyone is wonderful. If you're not satisfied with your local supermarket and want to stop-by, this is it! It's also not just the food. Their flower selection here in particular is probably the best I've seen compared to any other Trader Joe's. I attached some pictures of some pretty flowers yay :) P.S. it is true that parking is a bit tricky. The lot is oddly shaped and there are people constantly walking around. The first time I went here I was kind of disappointed considering the crazy amount of hype online about Trader Joe's. I was just looking for something to grab for my lunch break. It wasn't what I was expecting considering the hype and I think I didn't end up getting anything. I decided to try it again and realized I was SO mistaken! I tried the truffle dip, frozen gnocchi, frozen pork gyoza, and some of the coffee-flavored candies and loved everything I got. I was surprised how much I could get for the price! It's like Whole Foods but with cheaper-than-grocery-store prices. It can be very crowded and cramped (at least the times I've been there) and it can be kind of overwhelming and overstimulating. The service is great though and it is very clean & organized. I just wish there was one a little closer in the Plainfield/Joliet area! read more

There are some things you simply just can't find at a regular grocery store but you can here. Prices are reasonable and the diversity in food is welcome. Great location and everything you would expect from one of their locations. A bit too busy for my liking but it speaks to what they offer.

We love this Trader Joe's location and have come here many times before we moved. Recently came here when we were in the area and had a great shopping experience during this pandemic. They had a line forming outside the store and let in two guests as two guests came out and so on. Before receiving a cart, they had an employee wipe down the shopping cart before giving it to us. They also had a table with extra wipes for customers to use if necessary. The store was spotless and it smelled really clean. The products were stocked decently and everything was organized nicely. We just ran in here quick to get a few things so I'm not sure how the cleaning products were stocked. They do have a great selection of natural products here not only to clean with but for skincare and such. The checkout process was probably the best part. Zero lines and it took a minute to get our items rung up and pay. They were speedy fast. The associates were all wearing gloves and were very kind in helping with whatever we needed. From 8AM-9AM they have a special early hour for senior customers and customers with disabilities to shop before the store is open publicly at 9AM. I think that is really awesome that they do this and thumbs up all the way for Trader Joe's! read more

I still only purchase one item here, sparkling lemonade, but kudos to them for opening an hour early and CHECKING to see if you really are a senior and they hold people back until 9 am, their usual opening time. For more trendy and popular items it's hit or miss whether you will find them, but Trader Joe's has a dynamic selection of many items that change with the season. When you want something and know it's in stock you are better off purchasing it then, rather than wait any amount of time. I grew up with Trader Joes and have some of the warmest memories of their various goods. Unlike so many chain groceries, Trader Joes has always in my mind been a small family owned chain that sells many unique items that cannot be found anywhere else. Plus the service has such a casual but positive/chatty/friendly/helpful vibe that you have no other option but to enjoy the atmosphere as you shop! I treat each shopping trip like an adventure! Nowadays I have MANY favorites that I go back to over again. A few of them are the powdered Spicy Chai Tea Latte Mix, Baked Cheese Crunchies, Turkey Corn Dogs, and Uncured Apple Bacon. And I LOVE their flowers and plants! Always a bargain! Overall, I have found that their produce prices are really not that expensive, and so if you are not planning to buy in bulk, TJs is a great place to find fruits and vegetables. However, each time I shop I usually purchase at least a few new items that I haven't had a chance to try before. This week my new purchases included the Pork Rib Bites from the refrigerated case. They were easy to heat and tasty. I also tried the Mango Macarons from the freezer case and those were very good too. The powdered Green Tea Matcha Mix was also heavenly. My lists of "old" standards and "new" finds are endless. I can only encourage you to read the Fearless Flyer each month and try some of the highlighted items. You will not be disappointed! read more

I love everything about Trader Joes. I honestly don't know how they fit so much into a tiny store. There's really no more than 6 aisles, if that. Their produce section is great and well-priced. My only qualm is that a lot of the vegetables are pre-cut and packaged so I'm not sure if those are a great deal. They have a great selection of cheese and meats as well for great prices. They have a KILLER wine selection, and the famous $3 chuck. It's not great but it's also not bad for the price. My favorite part about TJs is rolling up to be check-out with a cart full of groceries and watching the busy worker bees coordinate your items into only a few bags. I love Trader Joe's for their produce, and their eggs and milk are far cheaper than other grocery stores. You can also get great deals on their frozen goods and their wine selection looks stellar (but I'm not a wine drinker, so I can't comment further on that one). The staff is incredibly friendly, which is a plus. However, this location, much like the one in Glen Ellyn, has terrible parking and unfortunately the patrons are simple minded. The aisles are narrow but people will stop or leave their carts in the middle, making it difficult to navigate through the chaos that you are guarenteed to encounter at TJ's. On the plus side, the store is clean and the shelves never look like they were bum-rushed for an impending doomsday. It's not a place to do your basic grocery shopping, but somewhere you can go to get party snacks. The hummus for example is reasonably priced and the variety of flavors available make it an easy item to bring to a gathering. Plus, it's probably the best hummus I've ever had! I enjoy their onion soup bowls; they're very reasonably priced and wayyyy tastier than your instant ramen noodle cups. Also, the Anne Chun soup bowls are delicious (my favorite being the miso), and are considerably cheaper than other grocery stores. Big fan of this Trader Joe's! Everyone who works here is always super friendly and helpful, the store is always clean and organized, and the product selection is great. My favorite things about TJ's is their wine selection and frozen meals. They carry tons of different wine brands and most are sold at a reasonable price. It's always so fun to see what they have and try something new. And of course I'm a fan of their infamous two-buck-chuck wine, which in all honest for $2.99 is pretty good wine! The frozen meals are great too. You can find everything from fried rice and egg rolls, to flatbreads, quiches, and desserts. There is such a variety, I love it! These Trader Joe meals are great for busy weeks so I don't have to worry too much about what to make for dinner. We live about 15 minutes from this TJ's (it's the closest location to us), so we'll continue to come here for speciality items and wine! read more

I'm possibly TJ's greatest fan. No, I'm serious. I bought my house in relation to the location of one of these joints. I literally google-mapped the distance to my house. It was a deal breaker if too far. I'm crazy. Maybe. I'm also a Cali native where these are basically on every corner. I love everything here. Well, mostly. The cheese selection is off the hook. The wines and beers fully stocked and loaded. The hummus... a massive variety. The frozen meals are classy and delish. Don't even get me started on the desserts. The frozen chocolate torte has been purchased no fewer than 100 times in the past 10 years by me. Biggest fan. Seriously, ask me anything. p.s. Two-buck chuck is not terrible. It's actually $3 here in IL but in Cali (where the grapes are grown and it doesn't have to be shipped far...), it really is $2, hence the name. The story goes that the grapes are all from Napa/Sonoma (mecca of wine for you who aren't wine savvy) and they are just the leftovers and runts of the patches from the real big dawg wineries. Pretty decent TJ's. Came here shortly after moving to this state desperate for my Trader Joe's fix. The selection was pretty good and the items were fresh. We came here rather late at night and yet the store was clean (although the bathroom probably needed cleaned) and the employees were friendly. It's a bit out of the way for me so chances are I won't be back often, but I recommend it. Oh and good enough parking space which is a plus! read more
