Perfect place for a day trip with the family. No long lines , friendly staff and tons to do for all age ranges. Great vibes from Apple Picking and Corn mazes to the petting zoo and tractor rides. Don't forget to stop and grab of the best most fresh Apple products at the shop. Apple cider donuts and a caramel apple are a must!

Jonamac is very family friendly with lots to do for kids! Lots of fun "free' activities and the $5 wristband is worth it for the more high end activities. All the facilities and grounds were super clean and well maintained. The donuts and snacks were all delicious and the option of the cider house with wine and beer was a bonus. Wish the prices weren't quite so high , but we went in a weekday so did not have to pay the admission fee, so it made high pumpkin prices seem ok. Will definitely go back next year! Convenient location right off 88 between downtown Chicago and the Quad Cities.

Definitely a great place to go to!! I recommend going Monday-Friday as it is a lot less busy and you do not have to pay to enter. It's only $5 those days to get a wrist band and do most of the things they have there. I think mon-thurs is 2-5:30 and fri is 12-5:30.

Very pretty orchard to visit during apple picking season. Honey crisps were picked clean when we went a few days after they were in season, so we got plenty of gala apples which were just as delicious for pie. We went quite early before it was packed, and it was nice and quiet. They had 2 food trucks on premises for food options, and we had some local bbq that was pretty solid. The orchard has frozen apple cider which was refreshing on a hot day. We enjoyed their brew house, and picked up some wines that they make. I am a big fan of the cranberry apple wine! Nice crisp fruity taste, not too overwhelming, tastes very close to cranberry juice. And of course you need apple cider donuts, which theirs were very delicious and moist.

I always get excited for apple picking weather, as I only moved up to chicago from South Florida 5 years ago so it's still a novelty for me. This past weekend was my second visit to Jonamac. My first visit was in October last year. I've been to a few other orchards and Jonamac is my fav! The vibe here is so fun and full of energy! All of the staff are so , so nice and helpful! They have so many family friendly activities, but we came for the apples, cider donuts, and hard cider! Hopefully next year I can get here before they run out of the honey crisp cider (honey crisp apples are my absolute favorite!). This year we tried the Bushfire and Traditional and I really enjoyed both. The bushfire has a nice ghost pepper kick as you swallow that keeps you coming back for more. I would say if you're sensitive to spicy - this might not be for you. They also have a flight so that could be a good way for you to test your comfort with the level of spice. In addition to ciders, they also have apple wine, beer, and slushees. Pro tip: make sure you are in the line to the right if you want to order by the cup or in the left line if you are ordering a flight. The orchard itself is so relaxing to walk around - I never new so many varieties of apples existed! I also recommend pre booking your time so that they are not sold out for the day when you get there. Can't wait to come back next year!

My family and have been coming here for years. Love everything about this place. The apple picking, the alcohol, especially the alcohol. The pumpkin patch, the general store, those donuts. YUM!

One last round of apple picking before the season ends and weather gets crazy cold and while writing this review it dawned on me we stumbled on Jonamac a year or so ago but not for apple picking...totally forgot we had been here before. Since they had a good apple selection PLUS a Cider House I decided to reserve tix for Saturday & booked online a few weeks in advance since they were sold out. Price for admission is $5/adult and includes entry to all areas (stores, corn maze, kid's activities, petting zoo, pumpkin patch, etc). Price for U-Pick is $15 for 1/2 peck bag with a limit per group. Definitely pricier than the last orchard we went to. Right off the bat - we were disappointed with the apples. The orchard itself isn't ginormous but of the 4 apple varieties ready to pick, only 2 had an abundance of apples. The others were way picked over and pretty barren. Plus, some of the apples just didn't look good (bumps, bruises, etc) or taste good; sour. It was hard to fill our bags honestly. We went with mostly Pazzaz and some Ever Crisp and couldn't even locate Granny Smith...It was a chilly day and after awhile I was ready to call it quits on the picking. Trees were simply marked and you have to look for Flags on trees you can pick from which were easily found. Lots of apples on ground...You could find a better selection of prebagged in the store. The best part of Jonamac? Cider House. It was a mad house and I really wasn't in the mood to stand in line for 40 min, but I needed to get some redemption. They had a limit on capacity inside but I didn't see any social distancing enforced (other than labels on floor & some signs). Although masks were worn, people were all over and close to one another. Back to the Cider House - great selection of wines (apple, pumpkin spice, bubbly), wine slushies, Hard ciders and a few beers too - all made in house. We each had a flight which you can customize and enjoy at one of the many tables outside. We really liked the Red Barn Blush (apple and tart cranberry) and Apple Blossom sparkling wine and took home a few bottles. Bakery/store is stocked with your typical orchard fare; cider donuts, pies, jams, apple butter, some gifts...nothing out of the ordinary. Donuts had an oily after taste - maybe I got a bad batch but I've had better. Here's my take on Jonamac - the real reason you come here is for the Cider House and the majority of 20-somethings is your dead giveaway. I'd go to another orchard if you're here for apples.

What a cute place for everyone of all ages, whether you're taking your fam or going on a date, there's plenty to do. Apple picking is a fun interactive experience, but being able to drink and buy ciders made directly from the apples in the orchard are a unique experience all its own.

My boyfriend and I popped over here yesterday for a nice fall day out. It was a weekday before 2pm so admission was free, but some activities were not available (i.e. apple cannon, big slides, etc.) We loved the delicious apple cider donuts available in the little store, and were excited to see that this orchard features a cider house with ciders and wines produced on-site. We each tried a cider/wine/slushie flight, and our favorites were the caramel wine slushie and the pumpkin wine. Good variety of apples available for picking, though many rows are still roped off. The available activities (small slides, basketball, tricycles) were fun and pretty uncrowded since it was a weekday. Overall, we enjoyed this orchard - just wished there had been more to do on a weekday.

Jonamac Orchard was absolutely worth the hour+ drive out. Not just a you-pick farm, but they also have a store with knick-knacks and treats, a winery/cider house, and plenty of fun areas for families with kids. The whole appeal to choosing this apple orchard over the other, closer orchards was the Cider House. They make their own apple cider, hard cider, and wine! They currently offer three different ciders and maybe ten wines. We decided to do a tasting and sipped each other's glasses so we could get a good feel for what they had. A couple of wines really stood out to me and they even had a red wine blend that was surprisingly sweet for a red (it was a Zinfandel blend I think). We ended up buying two bottles of wine and a cider. After that we made our way to the store to purchase a bag to go apple picking. The trees are all pretty close to the ground so this wouldn't be a bad day with little ones either. Isles that could be picked were clearly marked with white flags which made it easy to know where to look versus having to go up and down isles hoping to find apples for the picking. We filled up a half peck bag (equivalent of a dry gallon... the more you know) and headed back to the store so I could also pick up some apple cinnamon donuts and a caramel apple. Obviously I was hungry. Also worth noting that both the caramel apple and donuts were delicious. Wait, and we bought a pack of cheddar beef sticks (that were also yum) to eat while we were picking apples... it's hard work, you work up an appetite. We went around 3pm on a Wednesday so it wasn't crazy busy, but everyone on staff was so sweet and helpful. One of the cashiers even went outside with us to take our picture on the giant rocking chair out front. I really want to come back again at the end of September when it cools off a little more, JO is a really nice farm with a lot to offer and a cool little getaway for the middle of the week.

They're doing their best to keep people safe during Covid-19 days. Purchase tickets in advance to save yourself time, and help them control crowd. Sunflowers were here! No spiced apple cider yet, but cider slushie and apple donuts are to be had! We also really enjoyed sitting on patio of Cider House with a wine tasting. $5 and you can do a flight if wine! We were here on a Friday at noon, and the crowds were minimal Tina and Kim were very friendly! Oh, I highly recommend Apple Blossom and Autumn Harvest wines

Nice store and orchard with a building to sample wines. Tons of stuff for the kids to do with a lot of it free. Definitely worth the trip.

Definitely not the best place for fall fun. There are more slides than anything. Very few things for the kids to do.

CITY SLICKER I have…read moredriven by here many times but i have never stopped. Recently I needed zucchini. We were having company over and I wanted to add grilled zucchini to the menu. When I stopped in I was amazed at the large selection of items they had. They also had a bunch of great looking zucchini. The normal price for them was $1.29 a pound but they were on special for 75 cents a pound. I grabbed 3 nice size ones and the total price was $1.83. Now that was a deal. I should have grabbed more. I was also able to meet the owner Chris. She was very friendly and helpful. She actually stopped in to drop off more zucchini. She was also there to see how the store was doing. We also started talking about cooking food and using fresh veggies. As she was talking to me she was looking through the peppers. She picked up two giant green peppers that were going bad and asked me if I could do something with them. I told her Yeah and she gave them to me. In fact, I took them home and roasted them on the fire pit. I also served them to our guests later that day and they loved them. In fact, the guests used them on there brats. I know roasted peppers are not a traditional topping but I must admit they tasted fantastic on the brats. Thanks Chris for giving me these and adding to our already delicious menu. This store is seasonal. I am not sure when they close down but I'm sure when it starts to get cold. I also learned that Chris is the daughter of the famous Jerry Smith who has the farm North of this location. So all of there fresh seasonal veggies come from there. Jerry Smith's farm has a great pumpkin patch for the kids to visit in October. If you haven't been there then I recommend you load up the Family and make a trip there. They also have a Corn Festival coming up in August too. Those events take place at the Jerry Smith Farm and not here. I also have a Yelp Review posted for that location. Okay back to Green Acres. The selection was huge. They had a variety of potatoes and onions, Roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, regular tomatoes, 4 foot tall Dill, corn, hot peppers, green peppers, pickles, watermelon and zucchini. Everything looked amazing. In addition to the fresh vegetables this location also carried flats of flowers too. I really wanted the palm tree for $330.00 It looks so cool plus I would always feel like I'm on vacation if I owned it. So if you are driving down the road and you see a little shack at the side of the road it's Green Acres. It is the place to be. It's like farm living which is the life for me. Yeah I may get allergic from the smell of hay. I do love the country but I also love my big city too. There are some song lyrics mixed in there above...enjoy!!! See Green Acres makes me want to break out in song. I'm happy that people seem to be getting healthier. Places like this are helping us move in the right direction. We need to learn how to make food again and not out of a box but from scratch. It is not only rewarding to do this but it tastes amazing. So I appreciate Green Acres and I can not wait to stop back.

We picked Cody's farm because there wasn't an entry fee, it wasn't too far, and someone picked up the phone when I called to answer all my questions. You purchase an empty bag for picking apples before starting. A bag costs $30 and holds ~ 30 pounds according to them which works out to $3 a pound. The weather was nice and it was plenty of apple trees to pick from. There were only a couple of other people picking apples while we were there. I imagined these huge trees with apples high up to reach for, but all the trees were around 4 to 5ft. There was several very long rows of different apple trees to walk up and down. I am now convinced to get an apple tree for my back yard since the size isn't huge. The farm had play areas and activities for children so it is a cool place to bring the kids. We hit the store and I bought apple cider donuts that just happened to be really delicious. Most of the produce and products seemed to be a little pricey, but I'm thinking everything is supposed to be organic so the prices are mor. I would definitely return and bring little ones if I had any to spend a day out here.

I was going to get a caramel apple but they were $8 and not made there, prepackaged, so they did not appeal to me. Sandwiches were restaurant prices not" barn" prices so I left. I did enjoy the animals, goats, pigs, sheep and small cattle. I suppose if you have kids it's a great autumn thing to do and pick up some pumpkins and squash while there. Just seemed pricey and there was a charge for kids areas so I don't think I need to go back unless I have little ones to entertain.
