Such a huge savings over other stores. Target, cub and certainly Byerly's sell food for 30, 40 and even 50% more than Aldi charges. Aldi brands are high-quality. Not your typical generic. Aldi "finds" are also good quality and fun to have new products every week. Check out goes so quickly. I now spend 90% of my grocery dollar at Aldi. Far greater value than any other store in the area. It would be nice if Aldi would send out their ad previews days in advance for their grocery products. Not just for their finds. read more

I visit this store quite often. It's in my neighborhood and they have several things that I find reasonably priced and of good quality. But there is some trial and error in finding deals. I find that a lot of the produce items are far cheaper than the large supermarket chains with similar quality. I also like the some of portioned steaks, I feel that I save 2 to 3 dollars on each steak shopping here. I will say this, don't expect any customer service, and avoid the checkout lines by going to self checkout. If you go to a cashier, they just grab your stuff, scan it and literally just throw it in the cart at the end of the line. I asked one of the gentlemen who was stocking a shelf a simple question. He looked at me like why are you talking to me? He wasn't about to help me with my request so I Just grabbed what I had and left. read more

This review is directly related to Curbside pickup. This is my second time doing pickup here and I've had to wait over 20 minutes for my order to come out. The odd part is that the pick up isn't full. Both times, I've had to come inside and wait in a check out line to get help. That defeats the purpose of curbside. This is an accessibility issue for someone to not be able to call the store directly and have to physically come in to get support. read more

This is a great Aldi for several reasons - one, it just opened, so it's gigantic ! Two - since it's new, not as many people know about it - so it's less busy. Three - it's huge and has a great selection and amazingggg prices! Love it! I always find everything I need at this Hy Vee and best of all, it's not crowded. Although there weren't many employees (standard for Aldi) I still found everything I needed and then some stuff I didn't need (dangit, Aldi, you got me again). Everything in this store is organized and aisles are huge - enough for multiple carts to go by without issue. And all of our groceries in total were so cheap and affordable. I love that their vegetables and fruits last as long as they do, because at other places, they go bad fast. Not here! The service is fast at check out and there was barely a line also. I came for the chocolate German chocolate $1.99. The cheapest and best Dark chocolates in the Twin Cities. I even bought the coffee chocolate with white cream, to try. It was all gone at work by staff around 10AM!!! The way we enter and roam inside the store it's kind of weird. I did not look as big as other Aldi. Cashier was from TX and very Personable. Parking was ample and the place was clean. read more

So I like Aldi's prices and most of their products. However, the relatively new self checkout machines nag the customer between products if they take "too long" to get the next product scanned and will do this over and over as you self check out. So not only is the customer service lacking, it's actually hostile towards the customer if a self checkout line is used. I used it for the second time today because the lone cashier had a return and was getting backed up. When I just didn't intuitively know how to ring fresh produce, I hit the help button, while someone came by and rang it, they didn't take the time to show me how and therefore will not know how to do it next time (if there is one). The genius that came up with the talking, nagging, self checkout should be fired. Aldi is likely to lose some of my shopping trips to their cousin company which focuses on customer service because of this. read more

I needed 3 items so I didn't bother with a cart. The first thing was cola. I don't drink it anymore so I don't care what it tastes like. The first aisle is all tempting impulse buying junk food and soda. You run right into the dairy and I needed a pint of cream. I needed mushrooms on the other side. They looked pretty fresh and when I went to slice them, they were huge. They'd be great for stuffing. I think I paid by credit card so they are up to date. Still long lines, 1 guy at check out at 10:30, fer real? Someone eventually opened another check out. I like the location and would most likely only go to this one and avoid the craziness at the others. read more

If you want to save money on groceries and don't mind buying generic brands, Aldi is a great option. I'm usually not a fan of generic brands, and I've been pleasantly surprised by each of the brands Aldi carries. Their cereal is very good (and I'm picky!) and it's around a couple dollars a box (or so). Their produce is great and very cheap. I used to shop coupons at Rainbow and was very happy with that until I tried Aldi. Now I'm saving 50% or so on groceries there, and I can get a ton of fruits and vegetables for cheap, which is great for eating healthy. Remember to bring a quarter for the cart and reusable bags, if you'd like. Otherwise, you can use the boxes that the food comes in throughout the store to put your groceries in. You also can't get everything there, but add in an occasional trip to the larger grocery stores and you're set. Debit cards, not credit cards, are accepted. read more

Aldi is different from most grocery stores in that you have to pay a deposit on a cart ( $.25 that you get back) and you either buy or bring your grocery bags. But it's also different in that the prices on staples are a good 40% cheaper than you will find at most regular grocery stores. My husband and I buy all our staples at Aldi. We get our eggs, butter, milk, bread, cheese, and meat at Aldi. We can get all our staples for far less at Aldi than what we would pay at other stores. It helps that they are just across the street from our apartment but we would go there anyway. Once you get used to the quirks, you will never go anywhere else for the regular things you need. Aldi also features specials in seasonal items so it pays to check their circular to see what's on special each week. One week it could be Italian food items, another could feature Mexican food items. It pays to stock up if these are things you use regularly. read more

Yeah, its relatively cheap and in this economy one should try to save $. Plus, shopping here, you don't have to buy in bulk (unlike Costco and Sams club) thus you eat it before it goes bad. Buying the regular staples is ok. Check the expiration date just to be secure, but most of the time its ok. I wouldn't buy meat or fish here. I just have a weird feeling. Also, inspect your produce carefully. Take your time, or you'll get something that is half rotten. Shopping here is kinda like a maze, the place is small, they constantly move stuff around and rearrange everything. Honestly this place is a zoo. There are about 40 children running around in every aisle. These children seem to not know how to act in public and their parents dont really care. I recommend you duck and cover, move slowly towards the goods and try to run over at least two kids per aisle. The lines are a pain. Try to come with someone so one of you can stand in line while the other one is running around getting the stuff. You have to bring your owns bags. The clerks are quite bad. You get no love, no "thank you" , no "have a good day". I guess the prices are cheap and polite words are not included. read more

I like a lot of the items but not the shopping experience. I haven't found the cashiers friendly like other reviewers. Also be sure to look at everything well before you buy. I really wanted to like shopping at this store, but after about a year shopping there about once every two weeks, I can't say I've had more good experiences than bad. Most recently the cashier telling me how to put my items on the conveyor belt, like I need to obey some rule that I broke. Aldi may be a different shopping style that you have to learn the first time, but just please scan the items, however they may travel toward you on the conveyor belt, be friendly and I will pay and be on my way. read more

Easily my favorite aldi location. Personally I would say this store is about the perfect size for an aldi. But the problem is there aren't enough Aldis around that this one has too many customers relative to the size. At the of the day aldi is going to need to decide if they want to be small stores and have a bunch of locations or expand their store sizes and continue along with the distribution they have now. As it specifically relates to this location, I've been coming to this store for three years. It continues to be my preferred location for groceries even though I've since moved and it isn't the most confidence place anymore. I've never had an intersection with a worker here that isn't positive, plus some of the longer term workers are are incredible. One of the ladies that's works the checkouts is unbelievably incredible at her job. She rings up items faster than most customers can even put them on the belt. I always get in her line regardless of the length of lines. I think her name is Beth? If I am right and aldi management read this then they should give her a massive raise. Karen H.'s tips were right on. IMHO the one downfall is that you are forced to go through an aisle of junk food before you get in the main part of the store. Produce looked good but you do need to look before you buy. Eggs were a bit more expensive than the Trader Joes down the road, so not everything is a bargain. I was very impressed with one of the houseware items on sale this week - a stainless steel colander had good heft and was a bargain at $3.99. The cashier was polite, friendly and efficient. I was in the Aldi store in Minnetonka today at around 5:00PM. I had picked up a lots of extra items, intending only to get 2 item. When I went up to check out my check out person was Melanie. I was pleasantly greeted, and when I asked if she could leave my items in the box cover I had stashed them in. She was terrific, said sure and then moved them to the top of the cart for me. PLUS while I was in her line a lady came in frantic because she had lost her wallet. Melanie helped her by getting on her walkie talkie, and getting the guy who checked her out back to the till. AND all of this was right at shift change. She was so patient with me and everyone, while being very efficient and professional. Can't say enough good about her. I lost my reciept but really appreciated her and had to try to write a great review for her. It was such a pleasure to deal with her. And the person before was a bit slow, she was very patient and help him. NO BUMS RUSH HERE. read more

I live near this Aldi, and go there about twice a month. There is absolutely no beating their prices for basic groceries. I usually get milk, eggs, and canned goods. Why pay 20% more for these at another grocer? I've never had issues with their quality, although if you get vegetables or produce, take a close look. I almost bought a bag of onions until I noticed some of them were gross (I was at the checkout and just grabbed another bag). The lines can get long there, but that's how they roll. You have to expect to sacrifice some of the thrills you get at Lund's to get Aldi's prices. Before I went in there the first time, I thought it would be full of trashy, poor, homeless people. I was wrong. It was regular suburban folk looking for a deal. Just be patient at the checkout line and bring a quarter if you need a cart :) Oh, and they take cash and debit cards, and some select credit cards (not your typical MasterCard and Visa), so plan ahead. read more

I was intimidated before my first Aldi trip. Here are some tips for your first time there: Bring reusable bags. Bring a quarter (to "unlock" a shopping cart). Bring cash or a debit card. Realize that you'll probably need to go to another store to fulfill all of your grocery shopping needs. If you go with those expectations in mind, you'll be fine. There are good values to be found in their produce, dairy and packaged goods section. The store is small and offers mostly store/generic brands, with a few brand names thrown in for good measure (I saw Go-gurt kids yogurt, Pringles, etc.). All of the food I purchased tasted food and we'd buy it again. The cashier accidently rang up an item twice, but was apologetic when I went back to the store to get it corrected. They go VERY fast, so be sure to double check your receipt. read more

I like Aldi's because it helps me stretch my budget on many of my basic grocery purchases. I have been satisfied with most everything I've tried and find they are very similar to the name brands but at a much better price. I shop at Aldi's closer to my house mostly but yesterday I was close to this one and decided to go in. They had a good bit of their Christmas treats out. I looked for one particular item and did not see it. A young lady named Harmony was stocking the shelves. I could see see was working busy but when I asked her if they had all their Christmas stock out, she smiled and immediately started helping me. She said all was out they had but a lot more would be coming in soon. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she looked it up on Her Aldi site. I could not have had better customer service. The store was clean. Shelves full. Definitely worth going back there. read more

I began shopping at ALDI a couple of years ago. I have three kids and figured I'd give them another shot, as I had tried it years prior and was not impressed. I am a regular now. They have the best deal in town on milk, bread, OJ (theirs is award winning), sour cream, butter, etc. And, like one reviewer said, you don't have to buy 4. I am most impressed by their seasonal items - food stuffs AND household/gift items. It's fun to stop in just to see what they have week-by-week. Most recently I bought a Keurig compatible coffee maker for 20 bucks on clearance. It works great and it doesn't take up a lot of counter space. Last week I bought a folding roll-away bed for $89 for sleepovers. Also, you can't beat their HUGE take-and-bake pizzas. $4.99 for a 16" cheese pizza...insane. Mega meat is around $6.99. Their premium ice cream for under $3 is wonderful, too. I just try something new every time and am usually very pleased. The best part is that if you are NOT happy, just return it for a replacement AND get your money back, too. You cannot lose. read more

As noted by others, the range of selections are limited and you must examine the produce and expiration dates. The values are worth the effort.
