This location often disappoints. When it started degrading around the early days of the COVID pandemic, I gave them a pass, but it's 6/11/2024 and the shelves are still a hot mess. Employees weren't conscientious about not blocking customers in to aisles when moving product around, the two I interacted with either didn't know about their products or didn't want to answer... In the future I'm voting against coming here and will head for Palmdale or the Santa Clarita stores. It's almost like they're not even the same corporation. read more

Products are affordable. I purchased a dry sweeper refill, $1 cheaper than in other stores. I am surprised that the store isn't busy for a Saturday. The shelves are stocked and organized. The lady cashier is nice and welcoming. She even offered her Sevices if we needed some help. I would definitely come back here. read more

Good food, good prices, unique products. I get that you have your cashiers sitting, it's hard to be on your feet all day. However with that they can still be nice and give good customer service. Went to Aldi Lancaster today to spend about 100 dollars for my weekly groceries, when I went to check out I asked the cashere for a few bags and was told they had none. I do not intend to carry all these groceries from my car to the house couple items at a time so I left the store with all my groceries left on the check out conveyor in the store and kept my money....This is not the first time they have had bag issues. I've had nothing but good experiences with Eastside Lancaster Aldi. The staff is friendly, the food is affordable, and it's a pretty simple store. I enjoy that they have an aisle that always changes. It reflects whatever season is current. They'll have cute dog/cat clothing, carpets, cooking essentials, prep meal containers, and bunch of random stuff, it's captivating. Personally I never buy bags because as I walk around the store I'll ask if I can have a box that they emptied out. I always get told yes! So if they're out of bags, simply as for boxes. Just a tip. I'd say going to Aldi for groceries is better quality than Wal-Mart, more affordable than Stater Bros, it also depends on what you truly are looking for. Eqch have their strengths and weaknesses. Peep their deals on fruits and veggies. I got 50 cent mangos VS 4/$5 from Vallarta on the same day. Anyways hope this was useful. read more

I got my Aldi cherry popped for the first time today after watching a YouTube sensation compare Aldi products to your everyday brand name products. I must admit I am a name brand whore and wasn't too excited to try the same products but the "bootlegg" version lol So she mentioned that the brand-name versions had artificial coloring and flavors. And that the Aldi products did not. I got Captain Brunch but the non brand and sure enough there were no artificial coloring or flavors added. I actually liked the Aldi brands food better! First time in the store ever, any location. I have known people who love Aldi. they live in Simi Valley NOT LANCASTER. I shop Trader Joe's and I wanted to see what type of organic and gluten-free items they have. Complaint number one = when you first walk in to the store you need to rent a shopping cart for $.25. Complaint number two = compare to Trader Joe's their items are expensive their vegetable are worse then the 99 Cents store. Complete number three= I asked a employee who was stocking the shelves if they had a particular item, this woman looked completely pissed off that I even had the audacity to ask her a question. Then told me I don't know go ask someone else! Complaint number four= up to the checkout stand I used my bags to carry around the merchandise from the store, the cashier grabbed the bag and dumped all of my stuff out on the conveyor belt, proceeded to ring me up and put my stuff in a cart sitting next to her. I asked if she was going to bag my groceries? she looked at me said no and then pointed to some shelf and said go over there and bag it your self!!!! There was a woman in the shelf bagging area that had seven children these seven children are now sitting there butts on the counter where this store expects me to put my produce absolutely disgusting. read more

I am shopping this store regularly for a couple of years now. Sadly, I discovered today that I was charged for 5 packages instead of 4 for cookies. Given the current crazy circumstances I was not as vigilant as usual checking the receipt until I got home. No phone number on receipt and only 855 955 2534 number online and nobody answering (Saturday). Come Monday I will see what happens, I guess, and report back about their service. So far I have always been happy with their manners, prices and all around.... People are required to wear face covers util we know better about this virus, needless to stay some people feel they need to make the decision to endanger others. So...what am I missing. I had heard good things about Aldi's so finally got around to visiting, and had actually talked my hubby into going along with me. Neither my husband nor I were impressed. We walked out empty handed. The selection was not up to par and we literally saw no savings whatsoever. I apologized, yet thanked my husband for occupying me, but our visit to this Aldi's was a definite fail. Worst grocery shopping experience. Prices are competitive. But produce is mostly packaged. Customer service is horrible. The girl at the checkout was rude, looked messy, was snapping her gum, tossed my produce in the basket. When I explained I had a bag, she continued to place them in the basket while saying "you bag yourself". Gave me my receipt and didn't say thank you. I will never return here. I've been coming here atleast once a week to get my basic neccesities for my weekly meals and i'm a fan! Pros: -never crowded - organic / healthy options _ weekly deals -has basic house neccesities And random nic nacks And by deals i mean crazy low prices ..example : i got fresh corn for 15 cents each ! Awesome store. Always very friendly service. They do have off brands and some name brand items but they guarantee you'll like their items or they'll refund you. Prices are affordable and it beats having to wait in the lines like other stores I'm always in and out. I've never waited in line for more than maybe 2 minutes max. read more

Every person that works here at E. Ave J location is the best! However, there needs to be security. Today Sarah, a very sweet and kind lady, was getting yelled and screamed at by a very large man trying to steal from the store. Over 100$ in shrimp and probably 50$ of laundry soap. Insisting she go outside with him etc. It was scary as a customer seeing it happen. Sarah remained calm and strong the entire time. It was mainly women in the store. I know we all were shook up. I shop here daily. I love all the employees here. They as well as the customers deserve a security guard. It would pay for itself daily. Literally. I have come here several times, the store is very clean, From what I have seen the products seem mainly organic, The prices are amazing! They have an amazing selection of cheeses from around the globe..I really like this store. I have seen some people complain about the cart deposit of a quarter, but I think it's a great idea..the quarter is refundable when you return your cart and don't leave it in the street to hit other cars...This helps keep the quality up and the prices low. read more

Never again. This is NOT good for handicapped, you pay to get a buggy and then have to walk it back to get your money back. Prices are ok. Checking out is Terri able. Had my bag sitting in the cart and the cashier refused to put it in. She sat all the food next to the bag. Not my kind of place. Waited in long line forever before a second cashier finally came to help. They need to advertise that you pay for a cart and bag your own . If you have never been don't waste your time . Great grocery store! Prices are really cheap and the brands are still of good quality. They don't have your normal name brands that you're used to but they have a lot of really great finds that you wouldn't see at other stores. The check out process is different but really efficient and quick. Staff were friendly and store was clean. Definitely want to start shopping here more often. read more

I love Aldi's! The prices are very competitive and I can get what I need quickly, in and out. The best part is that they carry some imported foods that I like, German cheeses, meats, kraut, etc.. During the holidays there is a great selection of European chocolates! TIP: If you need a basket you will need to bring a quarter and they do not bag your groceries but there is plenty of counter space to bag your own. read more

This is a really amazing store, I'm stunned of how much amazing, healthy food there is and all of it is cheap! The lines also move very quick, which is awesome. The only thing I will suggest is that at the end of the isles you can have some hangers that has toys on it, like for the kids that have to go with their parents. Maybe like hot wheels or cheap plastic toys so they won't throw temper tantrums. That's all I have to say it is an amazing store, no complaints 5/5 stars. read more

Went looking for an associate to help me find something. I came across a blonde lady (assuming she's a key carrier of some sort because she had just instructed an employee to do something) and i go up to her and ask for help she never looked up and she just said to ask another associate. Unbelievable prices, great quality, and friendly service. So glad they're close to my home. Not as crowded as other grocery stores, as least not yet. They have some traditional name branded products, but most of their goods are labeled with their own brand which doesn't bother me. Most brand name companies manufacture for other companies all the time. Places like Whole Foods and Trader Joe's sell their own branded products and they are fantastic! So glad stores such as these are changing the perception of labels brands as the only standard of quality. (I know I'm rambling), but it really is a great store. Take the family and explore all the items and German goods they have to offer, and for the price it doesn't hurt to try them. You'd be surprised by how much you will save! And one last thing I love that the checkers are able to sit, while checking you out. It's nice to know there are companies who still care about their employees well-beings, and when you're done being checked out, there's an area where you can bag your groceries. Then lastly when you're done placing you're groceries into the car, do not forget to return your basket, to receive your quarter back to save for next time. Not sure about this business model. They don't want to pay someone to occasionally go out and round up carts, but they'll pay someone to stand there all day to hand out quarters for the carts? Otherwise, prices seem pretty decent, though selection is very limited and name brands are few and far between. It's a small store, so you couldn't expect a huge selection in every department, but they do have all the basics covered fairly well as far as I could tell in a single visit. If this is an attempt to address the so-called "food deserts," then I think it will be a good thing to see more of these around in those areas. read more
