    Albertson's Meat Labels

    While shopping for meat at the Lancaster CA location, I noticed that many of the meat products were mislabeled, and all were "Packed On SEP 22, 2025" as per their labels but there were too many to photograph: -- boneless, skinless thighs were labeled as '80% Lean Ground Beef 20% Fat'. -- boneless, skinless thighs were labeled as 'Chicken Leg Whole Boneless Skinless Fresh'. -- beef items were also mislabeled. 43543 20th St West Lancaster, CA 93534

    Mom's 90th birthday cake.

    This review is for the bakery. I ordered a two tier cake last minute as my original order elsewhere fell through. The sales person was so helpful and patient as I placed my order to be picked up the next day. It was a plain two tier white cake with strawberry mousse filling. I decorated myself with a kit I ordered elsewhere. Everyone raved about the cake. Thank you Albertsons for coming through.

    I ordered a simple cake from Albertsons, white cake with strawberries and whipped cream in the middle and external was also whipped cream. The cake was fresh and so delicious. It turned out perfect and such a great affordable option. We order our cakes here every year for my daughter's birthday because it's her favorite. They do a great job! It is located inside of the Albertsons store, and they showcase there are different styles of cakes. You can also order online, but always best to go inside to get a good look at the cakes and speak to someone in person.

    They sell a good Chocolate Cake. Although it is pricey and small compared to other stores, it is worth it. Moist, soft and not too sweet. Fridays are good for shopping too. You get good deals for $5. Woot. The store is clean, organized and fully stocked. I like that they have self checkout. It is fast and efficient. The employee manning it is helpful too.

    Ordered prime rib dinner. Prime rib was mostly fat. Thank God I had ham or nobody would have had dinner. The sweet potatoes had eyes which had not been cut off that I had to remove. I will not order from them again. The quantity of spiced apples was not sufficient.

My intent is to make you aware of several issues related to both food safety practices and customer service, as these are matters that directly impact public health and customer trust. First, I observed what appeared to be serious health code violations. During my visit, a staff member handled raw meat and then proceeded to touch other surfaces without properly washing or sanitizing their hands. Specifically: - Raw meat was transported from a neighboring location and handled in a way that created a risk of cross-contamination. - The individual handling the raw meat also handled the exterior of the bag, which can transfer bacteria. - Afterward, the same staff member touched cash from the register, soda cans, and prepared food items without changing gloves or washing hands. This sequence of actions raises concerns about cross-contamination and food safety, especially since customers directly consume these items. Secondly, I would like to address the customer service experience. At the time of my visit, there appeared to be insufficient staffing, with only one chef and one cashier managing a high volume of customers. As a result: - There were approximately 20 customers waiting, and service was significantly delayed (around 20 minutes or more). - Several customers ahead of me were still waiting when a customer who ordered after me received her food first, despite placing a larger order. - My order was simple (four carne asada tacos and Mexican rice), yet it took longer than expected without clear communication. Additionally, I was informed that the grill was down, which contributed to the delay. While I understand that unexpected issues can occur, this was not communicated proactively, and there was no effort made to accommodate or compensate for the inconvenience. I had requested grilled onions and grilled jalapeños, and given the delay and circumstances, it would have been a considerate gesture to provide these at no additional cost. Instead, I was charged and met with an unprofessional attitude when I raised concerns. Overall, the combination of potential health code violations and poor customer service created an experience that was both disappointing and concerning. I hope you take this feedback seriously and implement corrective measures to ensure proper food handling procedures and improved customer service moving forward. This place has strong potential, but a few operational improvements would really elevate the customer experience. During busy hours, more staffing and a clearer order system would help reduce long waits and ensure customers are served in the correct order. I'd also recommend reinforcing basic food safety practices like preventing cross-contamination between raw meat handling, cash handling, and food prep, as well as keeping the grill consistently running during service hours to avoid delays. Lastly, when delays happen, small gestures like complimentary items or waiving small add-ons can go a long way in maintaining customer satisfaction and loyalty. Sincerely, B. Orona Blackshire
