Dear Vallarta Management, I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding my recent experience at your store. For a long time, I have held Vallarta to a high standard, but after several consecutive negative experiences, I will no longer be shopping at your location. During my most recent visit, I ordered a family meal consisting of two pollos asados and an extra pound of chicharrones. I was disappointed to see the rice and beans being poured from a bag while I waited for my order. Furthermore, the chicharrones I purchased were not included in my bag, forcing me to return to the store. When I returned for the missing items, the service I received was unacceptable. The attendant, Dulce, seemed bothered to be doing her job and was very condescending. When I was asked for my receipt, Dulce shrugged her shoulders as if she did not remember me, despite the fact that I had been there only ten minutes prior. In the past, I have overlooked similar situations because everyone has bad days; however, the lack of professional standards and poor customer service have now become a consistent issue. It is clear that the quality of service we once expected from Vallarta is gone. As a result of this repeated treatment, my family and I will no longer be choosing Vallarta for our shopping needs. read more

I'm unhappy with the customer service at this market regardless I still like to shop here at least couple of times a week. I have asked some "managers" to re-install the ticket counter at the cheese counter because it hasn't been working for well over a year, I asked at least two of the managers and they haven't done ANYTHING!!! Other thing at the same counter is that every time you want to order you ham in slices you have to say "thin" or "thick" bottom line is that you never get exactly what you want, few months ago they had a sign to request your slices as 1-2-3or 4 going from very thin to very thick depending the number you want that was very helpful BUT someone very smart decided to take it away and went back to a mess. I asked two different managers and they said they will fix and they have done NOTHING I hate when people patronizes me and tell me what I want to hear only to kick me away. I can't take throwing away 80% of the meat. I just can't. I'm so tired of the waste. My wife likes to go here as she is into the masa. We get meat that won't last more than 2 days before it's smelling. Review for the Hot food court, and the Revive Bar. I tried the #1 Three Tacos plate at the hot food court. I selected the following meats-- Asada, Carnitas and the Birria-- and added the additional toppings like the onion and cilantro. The plate also came with brown rice and beans as well. The overall plate was alright, a bit underwhelming. My main complaint had to be that the meats were really dried out. What keep the meat tasting a bit doable is the green sauce. The potato wedges were pretty good, but you really can't do wrong with those. I had tried potato wedges from multiple markets and never had issues with them. And lastly, we checked out the Revive Bar. I saw that they have agua frescas, popsicles and ice cream. I usually get Horchata but this time I opted for Mamey because it looks like a popular hit. As the weather has been in triple digits for a while, the Cevicheria in the Vallarta Market has been our go-to for a quick, easy and cool summer weekend dinner. To start, the store is always kept clean and well organized. The employees throughout the store are always friendly and offer a smile as you walk by. Their produce department has a good (and unique) selection of products and they must sell high volume because everything always looks so fresh! I do notice in the frozen section and in the standard aisles some prices are a bit higher than other markets in the area which is surprising.. they could work on being a little more competitive there. The fresh bakery greets you with a wonderful aroma. The display cabinets of pan dulces (sweet cookies, breads and other baked treats) are always full and offer delicious goodies that you don't find in a regular grocery store. I really love the "ginger piggies" (Marranitos & puerquitos - soft, fresh gingerbread pig shaped cookies). They have aguas frescas made fresh on site, they make salsas, guacamole.. and the hot service deli has tasty foods as well! Back to our ceviche. Yesterday it was just too hot to cook and we were craving the cool and refreshing flavors of ceviche. They were fully stocked and were refilling the ceviche trays with fresh batches of deliciousness while we were standing there. They move a lot of product so I never worry that it has been sitting out for long. Prices for the various types start at $7.99 per pound when not on sale, average prices are $9.99. A good deal considering w of the ingredients and labor that go in to making ceviches. We got the shrimp, the imitation crab and the seafood mix yesterday with their Vallarta branded Ceviche tostadas and dinner at home was a treat! Each ceviche had its own special ingredients and depth of flavor. We get the "not spicy" version because the spicy can get a little hot for us. They don't skimp on the fish and fill your container with liquids only. Those tostadas are light and crispy with sea salt and are the perfect compliment! Paired with their house made guacamole, we feasted on the deliciousness for around $30 for the two of us, with enough left over for another full meal for us both! I'm ready to have ceviche tostadas again. Light, delicious... if you haven't tried it, you should definitely pick up from Vallarta! read more

Horrible service. I ALWAYS come here for the watermelon drink due to a diet restriction. Only issue is that they sometimes add Mint to it and my boyfriend was told that it is used as a garnish but that changes the flavor of the drink and my diet does not allow it. I ask everytime to check. I cannot have mint. I asked the lady multiple times does it have mint? She said no, so i said I'll take some. When she started to serve i tell her i see mint in it and say nevermind cause i cannot have it. She then throws a tantrum and walks away to the back and im standing there like what just happened and she comes back and starts to tell me everything with attitude has mint so I didn't end up getting anything. As im walking away shocked and bummed, i heard her telling her coworker what just happened like it was my fault and saying it with attitude. Today was the first and last time I will ever buy a Carne Asada burrito from this establishment. To make a long story short I don't mind spending money on food, but don't screw me on food. I ordered a Carne Asada burrito with just rice and meat and ask for some pico de gallo. I noticed that the pico de gallo was extra and I said why are you charging me for pico de gallo that comes with Carne Asada everywhere I've ever gone nobody ever charges for pico de gallo unless you want extra. there was a coworker that worked there in back of me and next thing I know they're speaking Spanish to each other and the lady that was helping me says I'll do it for you this time with a odd look like the other lady was telling her just give it to me.anyway I'm not gonna get into it. What I love about this place is they carry some fresh made rice, smashed beans and maduro. I have also transferred money to family in Nicaragua here. It's easy and convenient. They have a water dispenser also outside which cost approx .35 cents a gallon. Nothing, But good experience so far. My family has been coming to this store basically my whole life and it has grown tremendously over the years. I will say that some of the prices are a bit higher than other supermarkets but it might vary by location. I do love that they have specific sections to order meats, cheeses, tortillas, bread and even aguas frescas. I got a cucumber lime agua fresca and it was delicious!! They now offer self service check outs which is nice especially on a busy days. Overall, I love coming here! You can always find something new. read more

I have gotten taco's and beans from the hot bar as well as meats and other grocery other items from this store but my favorites are from the hot bar tacos beans and tamales but my last trip was tacos beans rice tamales and I was very much disappointed the rice was salty the beans were thick old and this is sad because there beans are amazing but not this time the tamales were dry they fell apart no flavor and no filling the tacos the same just not as good maybe because else was not good it's sad but the best thing they had was the jalapeño and all they had to do was cut and deep fri them ???? If I could give a 1/2 star to this Vallarta & the one on Palmdale Blvd. I would!!! First of all, the owners/higher-up managers are extremely DISRESPECTFUL to people!!! I like this store for their produce department BUT Their sea food department is questionable because every time I go to buy tilapia fish in the seafood Dept behind the display it is always not fresh and the fins are not even red or pink anymore it's like a beige color from just being OLD. I mentioned this to the staff many times now but they don't seem to give a crap. Hope Managment reads this and corrects this issue. I live a couple of blocks away from this Vallarta, so I go here once in a while if I only need to get a few items and don't want to drive to a grocery farther away. I stopped in this store today, on my way to work, to get something to bring for my lunch. Looked at the food over at their hot food bar but decided not to order anything from there because they had a line of people waiting, and I was in a hurry. Found a cold case with their store made tamales in packs of 3 for $6.99 per pack, and decided to buy a couple of packs of the pork tamales and try them out. What a big mistake that was!!!! Got to work and unwrapped 1 tamale and took a bite of it. All I got was a mouthful of masa dough and not much meat at all! WTF??? I've got more meat on my pinky finger than what was in these Vallarta tamales!!! This is exactly why I usually never ever order or buy tamales from restaurants/grocery stores/food trucks/taco carts/etc.!!! Not much meat filing inside any of them! Just a big wad of masa dough to choke on!!! WTF? Never again! Wasted $14 on nothing more than wads of masa dough!!! What a ripoff!!! I would've been better off buying the Hormel brand tamales that come in a can! At least they have mostly all meat and just a thin layer of masa dough on them. read more

Ah Vallarta! You are a great go to place I can trust for the essentials. In the winter I guarantee your going to be there for dessert for the family after I take my family put for dinner! In the summer I know your there for us when we want to BBQ some awesome. Carne asada or some carnitas and of course the seasoned chicken!! If we want some ceviche your always there!!! If we're in the mood for fresh tortilla your there. I bought avocados 2 for $4 they look good and green outside but when I got home and I opened them they where all black and nasty. I call the store to complain to the manager she told me to came back to the store any time I told her I can go back the same day. I'm in Rosamond. She told me came any day but you have to bring me the avocados. I can't keep it in my house like that for a week. When I when to the store on 12/17/19 around 12 pm. I spoke to the lady manager and I explained her the problem and she responded I need to see the avocados I say I have pictures of them. Se responded that's not good for me. And on top of that is not our problem because we don't know how the product is coming to the store. I say you sure open one before you sale it. Or buy it. She give e dirty look and responded this time if you want I'll give you store credit. Just because I want to be nice with you I told her you know what keep the money I'm not coming back and I'll tell all my friends not to buy here anymore.
