If there were a perfect pharmacy, this would be it…read more I have used many pharmacies over the years -- Walgreens, Cub Foods, Allina, mom-and-pop shops, Walmart, United Hospital -- and none of them even come close to Hy-Vee Pharmacy. Walgreens was consistently out of stock, had extremely long wait times, didn't answer the phone, offered rude or unhelpful customer service, and made refunds nearly impossible. Hy-Vee is the complete opposite in every way. Hy-Vee is always in stock, or they will have the medication later the same day or early the next morning. The staff is incredibly kind, patient, and helpful every single time. There has never once been a line in the drive-thru when I've gone to pick up medication. If I need an early refill, they handle everything themselves -- they call the insurance, work it out quickly, and within about 15 minutes the medication is filled and ready for pickup. No stress, no runaround. I once asked if my son's medication could be put in a bottle that's easier to use with a syringe. They not only did it, they noted it on my account -- and they have done it correctly every single time since without me needing to ask again. That level of care is rare. Their free same-day delivery is exactly that -- same day, every time. I've never had a single issue that they couldn't fix or resolve, and they truly go above and beyond. They also have the best medication bottles of any pharmacy I've ever used. Hy-Vee Pharmacy has completely changed my expectations of what a pharmacy should be. I would never go anywhere else.

The staff at the deli counter was pleasant, helpful and patient while I was trying to decide. They even have individual meals too so you don't have to commit to one meal prep option for the week. Last week I was in the Women's Restroom and a woman I'd seen begging outside came into a stall, dropped her pants, and started using the toilet with the door wide open. Homeless regularly hang out with begging signs in front of the store. I stopped going to the Cub on 46th because they're overrun with homeless and insane people. Now L & B Highland is allowing them to hang out. I seriously hope this stops. All it takes are signs that say NO LOITERING and NO SOLICITING and security who tell them to leave. Otherwise I'm going to have to shop at Kowalskis.

I truly applaud what they've built. Now Kowalski's are all over the place. However. They are by far the most expensive grocery store in the Twin Cities. If that doesn't bother you then this is your place. The ambience is wonderful. The stores are beautiful. They have a Starbucks counter inside if you like coffee. They have quite a large deli. You can get an entire meal ready to go. I've tried these and they are quite nice. And they're not horribly priced. They have a large assortment of specialty items from pastries to candy to Kowalski branded just about anything. The service is spotty. Sometimes it's good and sometimes not so good. Sometimes you can stand at The deli counter for what seems forever while people go back-and-forth ignoring you. Other times they're very helpful. The parking lot is not very big compared to other stores so parking can be a problem. It just depends what time of day you go. They have an attached but separate liquor store for wines and spirits. It is a very nice shopping experience and they do have a lot of wonderful specialty items you won't find anywhere else. However, be prepared to pay the price. I like how often they rotate the non food types of things. It seems every time I go in there, there is some kind of kitchen gadget or other that I want. The produce is always fresh and rotates often (same with the meat). I like the selection of frozen foods and usually end up leaving with more than I came in for. Aldi has come a long way since they started opening. it's a great place to get all your staples at a great price. Their versions of a lot of snacks are just as good. I save a fortune buying my salad kits here (like at least a dollar off each kit). Also a great place to get cheese and deli meats for a good price. Don't forget to bring a bag or two. I usually can't find an empty box to use for all my stuff. Shop at off times like later in the evening to avoid the crowds and long lines.
