    Tar Spot Disease

We are appalled with Pahl's!! We bought an Autumn Blaze Maple tree on July 6th and planted it on the same day we brought it home. Since then, dark spots on the tree have multiplied and upon researching the cause, we learned the tree is infested with tar spot. We contacted Pahl's via their website/contact us page, to report this issue and per their request sent in numerous pictures of the diseased tree. Pahl's staff confirmed the tree has tar spot disease. Sadly, other than some email advise on how to rake up and remove leaves to prevent the disease from spreading further on this defective tree, Pahl's has not taken any accountability and has not offered any credit, and has not offered a refund. We paid full price for the tree. We have emailed the owner, Gary Pahl, directly with a complaint and he is ignoring the email. Based on this experience, we would not recommend buying from Pahl's. Please be aware they are not accountable when it comes to defective/diseased merchandise. It was not our goal to bring home any diseased specimen of a tree. 07-28-2023 Following is a copy of the business owners email response. Gary Pahl gary@pahls.com You;Chris Kaufenberg Jack Pahl kiss my sweaty ass KAREN....you don't have a clue in life...... that tree will outlive you ....you said I have never responded....well now I am...people like you are a pain in the posterior for my people and just about everyone you come in contact with on a daily basis......are you really that miserable when you have to beret my people that work their tales off day in and day out.....I don't want you as a customer ....I don't need you as a customer......you are just miserable....read our warranty policy....then reread it so you understand the thing and then let me tell you a thing or two about a plant...only because I have been growing plants for 50 years.....any tree...any plant can come down with a fungus at any particular time of its life cycle.....if you are still reading this thing you might realize that a plant is somewhat like the human body....it has good days and bad days...it has veins and arteries that pump and nourish the plant through its life cycle.......if you drank everyday...which I am beginning to think that you might and if you don't you definitely make other people drink around you....you might realize that it is not beneficial for you. My guess is, is that you watered the tree so much after planting it that it incurred a fungus due to the wet roots for an extended period of time.....if you are still with me, it is like sitting in the bath tub for a long period of time and everything starts to shrivel up, when the plant does not have time to regenerate its oxygen, it starts to get suffocated out and that's when problems start to occur.........just here me out if you are still with me, because my guess is, is that you are gone because you can't take a person that can give you an honest answer....you tend to be the person that blames something on everyone else....let me pose a question to you? How long do you think this tree has already been living?.....WRONG answer....you see this tree is already 7-8 years old and low and behold it hasn't had any of the conditions that occurred since you bought it....now wait a minute....we have plenty of these trees here yet and they do not have anything that has occurred to your tree......so ask yourself a question? Do you think Baileys would sell us a tree like this......I don't think so......do you think Pahl's would sell anything defective?.....I don't think so.....I am the fifth generation in this business and I will tell you flat out we would not even think about selling something that is diseased, defective or unusable....I would not be able to sleep at night......However, after writing this note to you I will sleep like a log tonight.....you can tell the state, the feds, the FBI, CIA, NSA, or whomever you want and I do not care which pro-noun they use or nothing but please do not treat my people or anyone else like you have treated them. And if you going to post this little article do yourself a favor and post the whole thing and don't cut and paste to your liking. If life is really that bad for you maybe you should put yourself in my shoes, I have a parent in hospice and a father in law in hospice so I hope you can sleep tonight thinking that your life is so tough. And like our warranty policy says there is a one year warranty on the tree if it doesn't make it......and like I said earlier...this tree will probably outlive you. Have a Blessed day! Sincerely, Gary Pahl

Took the kid to Pahl's Market to enjoy picking out his pumpkin. And ended up enjoying the corn pit, a maze and several bouncy houses. Perfect trip for kids to have fun.

There were attendants gesturing where to park which was helpful. After parking, there's a small shopping area where you can purchase baking and dip mixes, meat, eggs, jams, honey, and more. This is also where you can purchase empty bags for apple picking. You can pay with credit card or cash here. I tried the maple syrup breakfast sausage links and they were delicious, but definitely on the sweeter side. There is also a food truck where you can get apple cider donuts, and there were baby cows to see too! After exiting the shopping area, you can ride a wagon with straw bales over to the other area of the farm, or you can walk. It's a bit of a hike so I would recommend riding the wagon. The next area has so many activities: pumpkin patch, apple picking, paintball shooting, bouncy mats for children, and other little games and activities for children. There were so many photo spots as well. My favorite activity was the apple cannon, where you can pay $5 (cash, credit card, or venmo) for a bucket of apples, load them into a cannon, and blast them into old cars. The cannon is SUPER loud so bring ear plugs or ear protection -- my ears still hurt a little bit the next day. There was also live music and a couple food stands selling items such as apple cider and walking tacos. If you walk a little further you'll reach rows and rows of apple trees, sorted by type with clear signage. There were a handful of varieties to choose from, such as honeycrisp, sweet tango, sno-sweet, and crab apples. There were a lot of bees and mushed apples on the ground so I would wear appropriate clothing and shoes that you don't mind getting a little dirty.

Went back after a few years. It was a lot busier which is to be expected however they can not…read morehandle how many people are going. There are no signs telling you where to get what. We bought tickets online in advance, but there was no sign for online sales. Then once we finally found the right line there's only one iPad so the guy had to walk away to get it to scan our tickets. Once you get out of the main area (we ended up walking because only two trackers were going and the line was super long) it was good. We liked the lower area but the front was a total mess and took way more time than it needed to. Pretty disappointed. Hopefully they can fix the front area before next season. Also, there were SO many bees.

I literally bought 60 bars last year, which he gave me a deal on at $3 a bar (usually $4 each). The meat vendor has the best brats I've ever had as well. They are pricey at $7.50 for only 4 brats but they are worth it. They also cook and serve fresh brats during the market. My favorites are Italian Mozzarella and the chicken brats. Send me a comment if you have one of those 2 brats and they aren't the best you've ever had, I would like to know where I can get better Fresh bouquet of flowers for only $5! I'm sure this is available at most markets, but have to mention it. If I ever get remarried I will speak to those guys about furnishing my wedding. They have an EBT station which is a great idea but don't see many taking advantage of it. Saw my first food truck this year (2013) so maybe this will be a good spot to eat each Thursday if more catch on. However the brats are so amazing that I'm not sure if I would stop getting those anytime soon Perfect place for someone who wants to juice. Most veggies are only $1 to $2 a bag so you can budget $20 and have a weeks worth of juice.
