Count on Bachmans for fresh flowers! These roses are a week old and still going strong. Bring some home for your beautiful wife. ;)
    Katherine G.

I prefer Apple Valley Bachmans to any other nursery in the area. The reasons are simple - the selection of healthy vigorous plants, carefully chosen to be a perfect fit for our climate and extraordinary staff who really know what they are doing. I am a former city dweller. I was born in a concrete jungle so far north, Minnesota feels like a tropical vacation to me. I spent my formative years in another concrete jungle. I dabbled in gardening - an inpatients planter thrived on my windowsill one year, raising my gardening confidence level to an all-times high. So naturally, when I moved to my sprawling estate in Minnesota 'burbs, I decided to put my talents to a good use. I'd plant a garden, the UofM Extension hasn't dreamt of! Boy did I spend a lot of money in Gertens or Pahl's that year on plants that were either eaten by my furry neighbors or didn't survive the winter as they were Zone 5 plants. Come next year, I had another fabulous idea. This time I was going to plant azaleas and rhododendrons. I did my research and this time went to Bachmans, it was closer than other nurseries and on the way home from kids's daycare. As I walked into Bachmans nurseries I was immediately greeted my an associate who was clearly enjoying her job. She asked if I needed help, so I said - The UofM developed a new azalea hybrid for zones 3-4, do you sell those? Was I full of myself when I said that? Hell yeah, I did 3 weeks of research and knew EXACTLY what I needed! So the sales associate (let's call her a garden fairy) nodded enthusiastically and said - let me ask you a few questions: tell me about yourself, are you a patient person? Do you have a lot of spare time? Ok, I guess I did look a little out of place decked out in a business suit with 2 preschoolers wrecking havoc on the store as we spoke. But then the garden fairy proceeded further asking about the purpose for my planting azaleas - hide a shed? Got it. How much sun does the spot have? Wind? Lots of wildlife? Do you want spring blooms or all-summer long blooms? (I was like, damn this fairy surely knows her azaleas)!! So long story short, the fairy led me to hydrangeas. And with a genuine smile, not even batting an eye on my soaking wet kids who were trying to water the roses, said - these love shade and grow fast. They bloom for months. But what about azaleas I asked? Plant those when you retire. Best part - those hydrangeas are perfect! I haven't done a thing to them since planting, except occasional soak, and they are doing great, growing like they are on steroids, blooming. And I feel like such an accomplished gardener. :)) There was that other time I decided to plant clematis. Same thing happened, and I was recommended the queen of clematis that a gardener like myself can't kill. It got eaten by rabbits 3 times, I forgot all about it after, never even watered it, and re-discovered it some time later noticing an odd pop of blue color in my yard - my clematis in full bloom! So for all of you, aspiring gardeners, go to Bachmans in Apple Valley and trust their garden fairies. The UofM might not be blown away, but you will love your yard and feel good about yourself. I will post pictures next summer :)

    On a mission.

It wasn't noticed right away so the cleanup didn't happen for about an hour. The next day, when dusting the floor, we noticed it was bubbling at the seam between boards. We took pictures and brought them to the store in Apple Valley, MN and they referred us to the Florida manufacturer. Our complaint was sub contracted to a service that does that sort of thing. Long story short - they denied any responsibility. We will have to go to small claims court to pursue this. In the meantime we are out 1250.00 and have to replace the flooring with a totally vinyl flooring we purchased from Home Depot. Which is what we should have done from the start. I wouldn't buy another thing from Floor & Decor. They are sadly not customer orientated.

The space still has a slightly weird food hall vibe (not super cozy coffee shop energy), but the drinks are hand crafted. They use local beans, have handmade syrups, and offer a fun variety of specialty drinks that feel thoughtful and well made. One of my favorite details: the plants throughout the shop have names and many are for sale, which is such a fun, quirky touch and makes the space feel more intentional and unique. Overall, I'm glad I gave it another shot, much better experience the second time and definitely a cool local spot with personality.

The space is beautiful. Filled with plants, cozy lighting, and plenty of seating. It's the kind of place that works well for catching up with a friend, getting some studying done, or just having a little solo time. Bonus: there's parking on-site, which is always a win in my book, and a bunch of other businesses in the area if you want to run errands after. I don't make it out to Apple Valley often, but this spot might give me a reason to start.

When Stephanie came in for an initial consult, she asked the right questions and identified the problems She immediately (and tactfully) proposed practical remedies. Carefully working with what we had already, she came up with color and style ideas. In a short time she came up with great alternatives for colors, paint, flooring, furniture and fabrics. She devised better furniture layouts for flow and openness. Stephanie's solutions cleared up my thinking immensely. For example, it never occurred to me to get rid of my clunky computer corner. She had excellent ideas for an office niche: now I don't know why I put up with my corner mess for so long. She made me realize that it is better to expose our handsome wood floors than hide them under disproportionately-large rugs. Not only did Stephanie provide insightful suggestions for the main rooms; she spent time going through the other spaces in the house, answering questions and making clever recommendations. Stephanie is a wonderful listener. I am easily intimidated by experts, but she is so personable and easy to work with, plus she's very generous. She made it seem like we are a team. I think she could solve anyone's design dilemmas. It's always a pleasure to watch a gifted professional perform her particular magic, and I look forward to seeing her again.

On Thursday, I specifically was here to check whether there were baby Yoda silicone ice cube trays. The store in Eagan only had one, which I picked up for myself. I used it to make the most adorable, yet functional ice cubes in my hotel room's freezer that I needed to get one for a friend as a gift. I lucked out. This place had six of these ice cube trays. I got one. They were a steal at 50% off. This store also had a nice selection of graphic t-shirt. I ended up getting a Disney one with classic characters on the front, such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Daisy, Donald Duck, and Goofy. It was on sale, so I had to. I needed to try the t-shirt in a fitting room. Due to the pandemic, the store has one main fitting room in the middle of the store. The smaller ones scattered around the store were closed off. The fitting room that I was in was clean and bright. I liked the three hooks and a long rail to hang my items up and try them on. I ended up getting a long-sleeved tie-dyed shirt that was also marked down. I loved that the sleeves were longer. I normally have the reverse problem with sleeves. I went to line up at this store. It was a couple of days before Christmas, so the line was longer than usual. It moved at a decent pace. I got an older woman at the checkout who was in good spirits. I paid using a credit card. I also had my Kohl's points barcode scanned. It's a decent store with a ton of parking. Like with all Kohl's, you can do curbside pickup. The customer service counter is to the right when you enter the set of doors to the right of the Kohl's logo. This store is also special because it has a Sephora built into it. The Sephora is decent. It felt like being at a regular standalone one. I was impressed with the products that I saw, from the complete Fenty Beauty line, to Drunk Elephant. I liked shopping here. I'd come back again when I'm in the area. (488)

I understand that there was a complete paradigm shift post-Covid, however; you can only use that excuse for so long. The employees seem as though they are not properly trained to do the simplest of tasks regarding returns/price adjustments, etc. I attempted to return a hat/glove set that didn't fit this morning. The employee that helped (?) me was unable to locate the order number or SKU number of the product in her computer even though I pulled up the order on my phone & provided the information to her. She tried over & over again. I was becoming impatient & asked her to get someone else to help her. Another employee pulled up the information finally. I paid with Kohls cash & should have received that amount back. She insisted that the dollar amount was 0, so I wasn't due anything back. After I (the customer) explained how the return credit works in this situation, I was able to get my Kohls cash back. I have shopped at the Eagan location recently & have not experienced this level of service. This tells me that the onboarding of employees is not at the level that it should be.
