I understand that tree removal is not an easy task - ever. They always have to deal with less then ideal environments with trees in horrible positions, ready to damage anything around them. I've never heard of a tree removal for a tree standing in the middle of a field with a nice road right up to it and no buildings, fences, mucky swamp water, steep hillsides, or structures getting in the way. I'm sure they guys would love that, but it never happens, no. Every job is always a nightmare that they have to study and plan around so the area isn't damaged. I'd never make it in that industry. About a week after a strong storm did damage to a lot of trees last year (May '25), I had a sick tree fall on some dog training equipment I have in my side yard. I needed to get that tree off the equipment quickly. I called three different tree/landscape companies nearby and not only did NWI call me back first, but they made room to take care of me in the middle of a very busy week for them - they were booked solid do remove the hundreds of trees down due to the storm a week earlier (I'm sure they were working late into the evenings then too - you know... storm cleanup)... but they came THAT AFTERNOON to remove the 60'-70' fallen Red Pine. They did it in fifteen minutes, then took another fifteen minutes for cleanup, then they had a truck come and remove the debris from the roadside that evening. Done. I didn't expect that kind of service in the middle of a disaster cleanup, but they came through for me. That's just one shining example of why NWI will always be my tree and landscape guys. They've remove other trees and ground the stumps for me; they trimmed back tree branches from the roof of the house, etc... To top it off, they're always nice to work with, personable, efficient. Every one of the broads they've got working in the office, answering the phone, and orchestrating logistics are just as sharp as anyone I've dealt with. It's nice to get hold of someone who knows what's going on around her, what the guys in the field can and cannot do in a moments notice - the girls simply have their finger on the pulse of everything going on - and that's THE person you want to deal with when you need help. It doesn't matter who answers the phone, they all are sharp as razors. I don't care what anyone says; when a company comes through for you once, you remember that... when they do it three times with consistent results; well that's when they become your go-to company. I tip my cap to the owners. A company's spirit follows the spirit of the owners, no matter what... always. Working with them tells me that the owners give a rip about their customers and I cannot say enough good things about them.

I contacted North Shore Lawn because I was having surgery in early-October and needed to have a…read moredependable company that could come to our farm each week to mow the yard, do trimming, do special landscaping jobs that I've wanted to get done for a long time, and fall clean-up during October and November. Ryan is dependable, professional, and goes above and beyond in terms of customer service. The first week, he and an assistant trimmed back overgrown trees that had grown far too tall and wide. They took about two feet off the sides and trimmed all around the trees to create more compact and beautiful trees. It is a MUCH better entry to our home and we aren't battling with overgrown vegetation as we walk up the porch steps and into our home. The second week that Ryan was here was a simple mowing of the lawn and trimming. Everything looked so nice after he was done. He even blows away the cut grass and leaves from the walkway and driveway, giving the yard a clean and orderly look. The third week, the focus was on a perennial garden that had become overgrown by the middle of the summer. There are many flowers planted in the garden, yet various grasses and weeds overtook it. The best bet - and most financially feasible - was cutting everything back as Ryan suggested. What a difference!! We have not seen this part of the yard look so trimmed and ready to be maintained in the Spring. We will be able to distinguish now between weeds and perennial flowers in the Spring and be able to stay ahead of the weeds. Next year, the garden should be colorful and filled with flowers thanks to the prep work now that Ryan did. The other major project that he did was clearing away brush and overgrown trees next to the home. Living in an old 1890 farm home, the vegetation got too close to the home and was a welcome nesting area for animals we didn't want need next to the foundation. Also, the trees had grown spindly and were not as attractive as they were when they were first planted. We made the decision to remove four larger trees/shrubs that were not doing anything to enhance the home or yard. Having all four removed dramatically changed how light and bright it is on the inside of the home!!! Having the trees removed also lets the air move more freely around the home which will reduce the green spots and streaks on the siding. We will have the siding power washed in the Spring to clean off the siding and we will transplant hostas (which are already growing under our front pine trees) in the area where the trees once were. This will fill in the area without covering the side of the home again. We are excited to have Ryan and North Shore Lawn come back during the upcoming few weeks to finish various outdoor projects; and prepare our farm for the Winter. We plan to use North Shore Lawn again in the Spring Having a dependable, hardworking, and affordable team from North Shore Lawn who wants to see the best for their customers is a business we want to get behind and support! They have great prices, a great variety, are so helpful and it was so fun! All their staff were so kind and helpful!!They have a couple beautiful train sets inside that our girls loved, hot apple cider and cookies, chickens we got to feed, cats we got to pet and more! They had long and short needle trees (I prefer long which most places don't have). Also their cut your own area was so beautifully kept! No stumps to trip over, no super long grass and the roads are very well maintained. All around this place is AMAZING!! We will definitely be going back year after year!!

After the proposal was ready, he stopped by and went through every item in detail - the work breakdown for demolition, carpentry, plumbing, tile work, and other optional labor work. Everything was clearly spelled out, and Dmitri answered all of our questions. Our project lasted three weeks. He was on time every day - not a minute late. He would always spend a few minutes every morning going through his plan for the day, reviewing any change requests, and answering questions. The path to the work area was covered and taped with tarps; every single item that needed to be preserved was wrapped and taped with plastic. Entrances to the nearby bedrooms were covered (and the plastic was removed at the end of each day). The mirror and the vanity in the bathroom were properly protected. We were very impressed with his attention to detail. The quality of Dimitri's work was superb. As he was laying down the tiles, he took the time to make sure no tiles with repeating patterns were next to each other, and made sure the tiles were from the same lot. He inspected the new bathtub for defects. He was very conscious about how the project work would inconvenience us (we are all working from home) and he made sure we had plenty of advance notice before the water needed to be shut off for plumbing work. As part of the project, he also took hundreds of pictures to document the process. He offered to dig up some trees for us to be ready in two days or to special order what he thought would be good for us which was so thoughtful. He did end up pointing us somewhere that had exactly what we needed (which was pretty specific) but I'd love to come back and support this adorable small business
