Love this place-- great selection, nicely organized. I was able to find some unusual perineals I haven't seen elsewhere. GREAT service too. Nice team of young professionals --always friendly. read more

I've been shopping here for seven years, wanting to support my local garden center. I am an avid gardener and buy way too much every season. I love supporting Jerry's. They have unique and quality plants. Over the last few years the experience has become much more enjoyable and friendly with new staff. I believe Justin is the owner, he consistently goes above and beyond to help me. Even going so far as chipping off some frozen bags of sand for me in the middle of winter. Support local! Every dollar spent is a vote for what you believe in. read more

I keep returning to Jerry's for great service and high quality products. They know their local area and what works well in our corner of Minnesota. read more

Jerry's is the closest nursery to my house so it's kinda the most convenient place to go for summer plants. Previous years I felt like there was much more of a variety, but going today maybe not so much. They still had everything I was looking for though -- dill, parsley and cucumbers. Really what makes this a three star place is the woman who works the register..woof. She is AGGRESSIVE! Shes never been rude to me, but I have witnessed her multiple times on multiple occasions act very unprofessional and blatantly disrespectful to others. Honestly, I chalked it up the first time to her having a bad day, but that's obviously not the case. It's just really weird. read more

A huge shout-out to Jerry's grandson at Jerry's Home & Garden Place! He was so amazing in his support of a patio decorating challenge. He went far above and beyond. And I'll only buy from him now. read more

Went to Jerry's today because I wanted to support a local business rather than the bigger places. Won't be going back. They have limited selection, no employees around to ask questions of, and when I did find one, he answered my question abruptly and then walked away. (I was going to ask him more questions). Then when I went to check out, the cashier was cold and not helpful. Prices weren't clear on the shelves or on bigger items. Found a hanging basket I liked and was told the price was wrong. It was mismarked". I told the cashier that the price on the item is what I was to be charged, and he got the manager and he said it was a different price, and wouldn't budge, so I walked out and they lost a $200 sale on their refusal to give me the $5 off from the other baskets that had a higher price on the exact same one. AND, the manager said he was "eating my lunch" when he was called to the register.....I was the only customer there. But, he didn't care about my order. He just didn't want to delay his lunch for a few minutes, that could have been handled in seconds if he would have just given me the $5 off that WAS MARKED $5 less than the other ones. Customer service is not a priority with the new owners of Jerry's. read more

Took a trip out to Jerry's because I had had a positive experience a number of years ago. We arrived only to find sale tables with a mix of annuals and perennials with about 50-60% of them looking brown, crispy , in places ....really embarrassing.....for a place that we remembered to at one time carrying fresh, high quality merchandise. Please don't use the Pandemic as an excuse. It's laziness. Staff members stood around doing nothing when they could have been picking through the plants or rearranging things to at least TRY to make the place look a bit more presentable. Sad. Very sad..., we left empty handed.....and sad to see this place looking so run down. read more

This business has a dire need to provide pleasant service to their customers. I couldn't believe it. We have shopped there for many years and always been treated very well. Today the gentleman could care less whether we were going to buy some thing or not. Needless to say, we did not buy anything, and we will not be back. read more

I have been here before earlier in the season and had a decent shopping experience, maybe that is why I didn't since it is later in the season? Almost all of the veggies, herbs, and anything in the green house looked burned, dead, and baked. Terrible quality. You couldn't grow nurture them back to health if you wanted to. I am not naive either, I know that it is mostly passed the season for many of those plants, but what a waste! Get them on clearance and make something off of them they just let them shrivel up and get thrown away. I was thinking of getting some herbs for my kitchen, but most of them were brown dust. So with that discovered, I went back into the perennial section. Not much here either, picking leftover scraps basically. The kicker though was that I had staff come find me (actually just yelling if anyone was here) and tell me they were closing early because it was slow and asked me to leave (instead of help me find what I was looking for and let me pick up what I needed and then close the store, shoot you could have even put up the close sign to deter others from coming). The store wasn't supposed to close for another hour, I made sure to look online for the times so that I could be respectful and plan my trip accordingly. But it didn't matter, they cash register was already closed up and they were locking up (with me still in the store). So instead of picking up what I needed, I have to go back again if I want. Annoying and a bad way to treat your customers. If you are going to do that, change your business hours entirely or bite the bullet when it is slow, send staff home or something but don't close the store when you should be open. The minute you start doing that is the minute you start losing customers. Be wary, Jerry's might become what their neglected plants had become: shriveled to the point where they are non-existent. read more

I have come here for firewood before, and when I called this year to just check in on pricing I was disappointed. They are selling wood in the quantity of 7/8 face cord...I do not go to a gas station to buy gasoline by the 7/8 gallon. I just see it as a way to try to screw your customer. I LOVE shopping small until you do stuff like this - I will take my business to a different small business. read more

A convenient location off Cedar or 35e for perennials, annuals and garden supplies. The small selection of trees may be due to early season. Shrub selection was varied in quality but good supply for start of early planting season. The staff offered assistance in finding things and carried my purchase to my car. They were knowledgeable about the plants I needed and offered ideas. They were busy with unloading a lot of new items. Prices were average compared to other quality gardening centers . read more

I can't even comment on prices here, because the service was so awful I didn't make any purchases. I went in to look for some foilage for my apartment. Houseplants for sure, possibly something really small for the balcony. I had also thought about purchasing some herbs to grow in my windowsill. The entrance was a little confusing, I didn't realize you needed to cut through the outdoor display area. I thought that the steps leading up to the building were the front entrance. But that area is boarded up, painted over. So I make it inside, no biggie. I was the only car in the lot and the place was a ghost town. There was one cashier, a blond woman, leaning on the counter holding a phone. She didn't say anything to me when I came in, despite being the sole other person in the place. I asked her where houseplants were and got a dismissive wave towards the back of the outside display. "They're over there." Left to my own devices, I wandered around outdoors. A lot of the plants and shrubs had dead ends and dry looking soil. I'm not really up on my plants, so I wanted suggestions. When I went back to find that cashier, she was nowhere to be found. Another customer had come in while I was outside. We exchanged glances and I knew she had a similiar encounter to mine. I finally found the cashier, and told her what I was looking for. Her demeanor was obstinate and standoffish. She said, "I just made this pot. Why don't you buy this? You SAID you wanted something for your balcony, right?" and walked me outside to a flower pot with a couple flowers in it. Much too large for me to carry to my car and haul up to my apartment. I didn't feel like she had heard anything I was looking for... I guess it doesn't sound like much, but her whole tone was like talking to a crabby teenager. The other customer in there then asked her a question, and she gave a sigh, as if inconvenienced. I stood there in the front of the outdoor area for a second and just walked out to my car. Totally annoying experience. read more

Plant selection is poor, prices are steep (especially their firewood)... it's firewood, not Bitcoin. And, get rid of the "I can't breathe" mask lady. She is the single rudest person to work retail in the history of retail. I miss the old owners. It's a mystery that you can't find a google review in this place, somehow they must have figured out how to shut that off, because they weren't good. read more

Annuals seemed a little pricey, but the trees are priced well. I didn't have a chance to look at many perennials while I was there. They sell seed potatoes per pound, which is great for home gardeners (instead of having to buy a five pound bag when you'll only use half a pound). read more

I'm always looking to support local businesses as a means of supporting my community. So when looking to buy fire wood, I felt Jerry's was a reasonable and sensible option. I couldn't have been more wrong. I went into their nursery on October 3rd to purchase wood and was shown several stacks of wood. Upon looking at the wood, I commented to the owner (Rich?) that the wood appeared to be wet. He assured me that the moisture I was witnessing was only on the outside and that all the wood had been "drying for two years." Well I thought... two years, it should be good and dry. I should have trusted my instincts and left. Instead I purchased what he called a "fireplace" cord for approximately $140.00 and paid a $25.00 delivery charge. After three or four attempts to burn in our fireplace to date, I've gotten a lot of smoke, frying sounds, and logs that were left half-burnt. I took a sample of one of the half-burnt logs from my recent attempt as evidence of the wood's wetness (10/28/19). The owner (Rich?) looked at the charcoal log and still insisted that the wood was dry. Maybe I should have wrung it out with my hands in his presence. He preceded to question me about how I build fires and the methods used. I quickly informed him that my knowledge of building a fire should not be in question. After all, he's holding the half-burnt log. I've been burning wood in fireplaces for over 30 years. To make matters even worst, an elderly cashier "timely" interrupted our conversation saying that he had gotten an earlier phone call. At this point the owner concluded by saying... "Well I don't know what to tell you." He then walked away, leaving me at the checkout register. I felt using the "earlier phone call" line was a simple strategy for ending the conversation. I left the half-burnt log at the register and walk out. Maybe supporting local businesses require further thought. Word of advice, think twice before buying wood from this outfit. read more

Was looking for a few hanging fern plants. Called at 6:30 and she said she had them and was open until 7pm. I arrive about 5 minutes to 7 and they looked like they had no customers and were closing up so I just kept going. Shortly after 7 I got a call back from the woman I spoke to and she was still there waiting for me! I told her I thought they were closed and came home. She went out and got my hanging ferns and kept them to the side for me to pick up the next day. She went above and beyond! These are people we should all support! Thanks so much! They are beautiful, and so are the other baskets I picked up that day as well. read more

Bought a 20.00 groupon certificate for 12.00 in May. Nothing on groupon or certificate said anything about certificate not being good on sale items. Only comment was the certificate was only good on live flowers, plants, trees. Stopped in June to use certificate. Picked out 3 perennials that full price were 9.99. Sale at time was 6.99. I figured I would get 3 @6.99 for 20.97 plus tax. When checking out, I reminded the clerk of the sale and was told oh the certificate cannot be used for sale prices items. I was not happy. This small incident is enough for me to write this review and not purchase from this vender again. If you are going to have a policy regarding restrictions on certificates, state so on the certificate, so we the consumer can know what we are purchasing. As I was leaving their parking lot, I saw a sign on their road sign stating something about sale prices and other reductions cannot be combined. It is my guess, this vender has had many people purchase their groupon certificate and when consumers came in to buy flowers at a sale price, vender figured out their mistake and put up that sign. Sorry, business is business and If this were my business, I would own my mistake, take the loss, and leave the customer happy. read more
