Aldi in Hudson, WI. My first time there. Expected more. Being a German Swiss, being raised German, having been in Germany and in Europe in general, many times, I do not understand how a company that proclaims being the best in service and in quality and European products, well nothing like that I did see. I did not see any European brands. Not even a chocolate or a sweet cookie. On the contrary, any mama's and papa's little markets will do better and with a better image and welcome you with a little bit of hospitality. Which this Aldi has not. Bad service. Disorganized. Decent location and the shelves are usually orderly and stocked. It can be a wait if you go on a weekend evening for some reason (they usually only have one cashier working). I like how often they rotate the non food types of things. It seems every time I go in there, there is some kind of kitchen gadget or other that I want. The produce is always fresh and rotates often (same with the meat). I like the selection of frozen foods and usually end up leaving with more than I came in for. Aldi has come a long way since they started opening. it's a great place to get all your staples at a great price. Their versions of a lot of snacks are just as good. I save a fortune buying my salad kits here (like at least a dollar off each kit). Also a great place to get cheese and deli meats for a good price. Don't forget to bring a bag or two. I usually can't find an empty box to use for all my stuff. Shop at off times like later in the evening to avoid the crowds and long lines. read more

I love Aldi. Literally the same products at a huge discount. The Aldi brand is comparable to any name brand food. Y'all are sleeping on Aldi. The produce is what I mainly buy here. It's so cheap. The herbs are great and also a lot cheaper than anywhere else. They are also organic herbs. Maybe I should gatekeep this gem. read more

I stopped in to pick up a few grocery items. As I entered there was a sign easily seen that for Everyone's safety masks are mandatory. I of course wear a mask for my safety and others. I immediately noticed that there were many people in your store that did not wear a mask. There was a mother with 3 children, no mask. There was a older gentleman that walked around no mask. Also a lady checking out that actually removed her mask in front of the cashier. I feel sorry for your workers that have to put up with people that refuse to wear a mask. If there is a sign that mandates a mask yet no employee questioned anyone or enforced it. Since you have no regard to Safety and not enforcing your own mandate if I do get COVID I will mention I was in your location and what my experience was. read more

My mom and I went to grocery shop and Mary (a cashier) completely manhandled our groceries!!! We had them in a container so that it was easier to transport and she took it and turned it upside down, spilling out all of our bread. Overall not mad but she was so rude, it was funny. This is our go-to grocer for the last 5 years and love it! Prices are great! I particularly appreciate that I was never harassed, coerced or publicly shamed or ostracized when I shopped at Aldi in Hudson this last year, as me and my children do not consent to the masking because of personal health reasons and ethical convictions. I was treated as a welcome customer and with dignity as a fellow human being, without making me feel like I was a leper or criminal. Staff is always very friendly and helpful! A mother with young children should never fear she is going to be harassed or publicly shamed by going to the grocery store just to feed her family. I trust that others will have the same respectful treatment I have received this year, and last 5 years. Way to go Aldi for not stooping to intimidate your loyal customers or unlawfully refuse entry into your public accommodation, unlike other stores. You are doing the right thing! read more

I like Aldis but this location is really cramped and always has huge lines at the checkout. They have some really great priced items, but I do feel the quality is sketchy on a couple items. For instance, we got their restaurant style chips and they tasted like dish soap, but other items like their milk, are great and super affordable. Their baby food is super affordable. A lot of it is just a matter of trying stuff out and seeing what you like. read more

They have the best prices on MOST items and MOST of the food is just as good, if not better, than anywhere else. I really like their weekly temporary items too. You never know what awesome stuff you are gonna find! Their version of Raisin Bran is the best ever, they have cheap bags of salad, really cheap produce, delicious bakery items and cheap k-cups. Not to mention the fresh meat!!!! The list goes on..... Their return policy rocks because if you return something because you don't like the taste, they give you a new one (you can get a different flavor, etc) AND they return your money! It's funny how there is a review about 'paying' a quarter for your cart. They must be confused....you put a quarter in, you get the quarter back when you return it. How are they supposed to save you all this money if they need to hire a cart person and need to provide you bags? Deal with it. Aldi's is great! read more

Awesome prices! I swear I have cut my grocery bill at least in half since going here almost exclusively. They have most items that folks typically buy -- chips, desserts, soup, milk, eggs, cereal, frozen meals, meats, paper products, a limited variety of veggies -- but no name-brand soda, which is a little weird since they carry some other name-brand stuff. Not a great selection of vegetarian foods, but their stock changes regularly and delish specialty items pop up now and then. The checkout process can make you slightly insane, as the cashier goes lightning fast, and if you accidentally take their cart by their station, or try to use a credit card to pay, lord help you. Also, some of their fruit is not of the best quality. The pears' skins taste like chemicals. Worth it all to save money!!! read more

Wow what a difference a year can make---I have seen the light and become an Aldi convert. Hallelujah on my savings! I have come to the conclusion that you just have to be there to get your produce when it is freshly stocked and you may have to throw an elbow or two because this place gets crazy with people getting serious about their celery, carrots, broccoli, berries, and all the healthy shit you can imagine. You will save money and it is better quality than i have found at the other two big grocers in the area. (providing you get there right after the truck!) I have continued to expand the things I purchase here. The cereal they carry is just as good if not better than the name brand. I enjoy all the snack options also. I am not open to purchasing meat there quite yet--I have a problem with meat anyhow and can be a bit of a snob. They do carry organic shit and lactose free milk. I do not think the cheese is as flavorful as you can find at cheese counters but again I am demanding about my cheese. I appreciate the value and healthy options from Aldi. read more

Aldi is a cheap grocery store that doesn't really carry any name brands and you have to buy your own grocery bags, have a quarter for a cart etc. Aldi professes very low prices that beat out name brands but in reality are not much less expensive than store brands at other stores and they charge a similar price. Meats and dairy are typically higher at Aldi than at other stores. All in all, it is OK. read more

Don't really dig the food there. The few things I enjoy from there are the bread an the milk. Yes the pricing is very good but if you are a picky eater like me then I wouldn't suggest it. But if you are not a picky eater then aldi is the place for you! read more
