A cool, handy local grocery in a strip mall right across from where we had dinner. First thing I grabbed was a big ass plant for the porch. I caught a sale on green olives. I needed some fresh veggies. I love the pre-packaged salad and picked up the Superior fresh mighty mix that looked better than most out there. I liked the packaged cauliflower cause I hate dealing with it. I got a huge surprise. There was a display of Duke's mayonnaise. It's listed at $8.99. Not sure if I'm that crazy, I usually pick it up on my way home when I leave Killer Nashville. Nice staff. read more

They have almost every item you could possibly need which is nice, BUT it also comes at a very steep price. This place is extremely expensive. I only go here when I need one or two items because if you buy 3 or more items it starts to trend upwards of $30. This place is $$$$! I'm warning you in advance so you don't have sticker shock. I get that it's convenient and it's close and they have a deli and a bakery I which I appreciate but I'm OK with willing to travel a little further to target or Stillwater to find it a little cheaper. read more

This grocery store is usually one of my last choices for food when I'm in Hudson. Why? Oh there are SOOO many reasons. 1) let's start with parking. It's a nightmare. I always hated the diagonal type parking and especially in a large lot (only one way is the right way). 2) produce isn't always fresh. really high prices on produce. 3) fresh fish/seafood I can smell from across the store. How fresh is it? 4) meat counter doesn't look appetizing. They often don't have very fresh looking packaged meats . 5) weird organization of frozen foods area. Very anemic selection on everything. TONS of frozen pizza items but very little in the way of vegetables, prepackaged meals, etc. 6) I hate having to bag my own groceries 7) rather high prices given the fact you have to bag your own groceries! Best part of this store is the bakery/bread isle and a decent selection of gluten free and organic items. read more

This is NOT a review of the floral department. I don't know how that happened. This is the only store that carries such a great variety of foods. It's the only store that has the pear juice from Belgium that I'm hooked on. It's the only store where I can find the tall coffee filters for our Bunn coffee maker. It's the only store that stocks my favorite maple flavored peanut butter. I haven't had problems with the meat as others have said. Most bakery products are good. They can whip up a last minute birthday cake in a pinch. I've lived in the St. Croix Valley for 35 years and County Market has always been our go-to store. Great pharmacy too! Minute clinic too. It has everything. Yeah, parking sucks but it does everywhere. read more

4 people this morning were not wearing masks. Two were chatting with employees at check out with no mention of non mask compliance. Other employees walked by and said nothing. I've lost friends to covid and find it unbelievable County Market is making so little effort to follow state and federal guidelines. This is not a political issue this is about protecting each other. Pretty good selection of food and beverages here. I was very impressed with the proactive customer service here yet was a little surprised that there was only 6 self - checkout lanes and no lanes that had the availability for 15 items or less. The layout of the store seems to be easy to navigate, so there weren't any worries. The parking lot? Whoa now! A little tight in some areas. Be extremely cautious in backing out or pulling in. The exit to the main road is just awkward yet nonetheless, no the fault of this supermarket. All and all, a good grocery store alternative than the big W store up the road. read more

When this place first opened, it was the only decent, modern grocery store in the Hudson area. Now that everything under the sun has proliferated around Exit 2 that is no longer true, but I still enjoy shopping here. Prices are competitive, and the selection of grocery items is vast. It's nice to be able to score fresh cheeses and organic items here, also fairly priced. Now that your shopping is done, pay a call on the fine folks next door at Chicones for all your craft beer, wine and beer needs. Aren't you happy all your shopping is done in one stop? I love County Market. For my work and personal groceries I'm up here 4 or more days a week. Produce is fabulous, always good quality, and abundant. Appears they do a great job of buying from local farms or at least from farms in the USA. This is one thing I always look for. Great line up of cheeses, and the addition of fresh bread is awesome. I shop all other places also, Cub, Hy-Vee, Kowalski's, Byerlys, and CM prices are right in line, usually cheaper. The flower department is also a great place to get your botanical needs. read more

If this place was not directly in my local area--I would not go out of my way to shop here. The layout of the store is weird. The parking lot is a nightmare. You have to bag your own damn groceries. Often the other shoppers seem irritated and snotty. They do not have a fresh meat counter. I end up going because they do have better produce than the other big grocery in town and not too shabby of prices on the organic fruits. Everytime I come home, my visit isn't complete without hitting up County Market. Okay, okay... it's kind of just a regular ol' grocery store. I like it because I feel like I'm rooting for the under-dog (ever since that new grocery store opened over by Target across the freeway). County Market's been there long before this quaint little suburb was a 'burb. But what's best... the CHEESE CURDS. Real, Ellsworth Wisconsin Cheese Curds. Yummmm. Do you know there is a pandemic? It's COVID-19. When I stopped to do my grocery shopping I was pleased to see a sign asking to wear a mask for the safety of others. As I was picking up items I started to notice people with no mask, not even below their chin. Which I also noticed. I see you are more interested to make money ( at the risk of others) yet you don't help hold a state mandate for mask wearing. As a healthcare worker that has seen first hand Covid deaths, this has made a huge influence that I will take my shopping to Minnesota. You will not see me in your store again since it is not a safe place. This was a disgrace. read more

This is THE grocery store of my childhood. I remember when it first opened and my mum was all "ohhh, Hudson's getting SO BIG". And cripes... now we have a bloody Starbucks. But I digress. County Market still maintains that small-town grocery store feel even though it now has an impressive suburban stock, complete with olive bar and fancy cheese rack. They also have a decent natural/organic section with pretty awesome prices. They also have the most caring pharmacy in town- they know you by name, care about if you're feeling better, and are never too busy to really talk with you about your prescription. I have always loved County Market's donuts. I especially like their Apple fritters. I watch my weight and exercise regularly, but once a week I look forward to splurging and getting an apple fritter. Imagine how disappointed I was to come into your bakery section to find your apple fritters have decreased in size by half! They are now "mini fritters, but for the same price...Wow. The other donuts still look the same. I've checked multiple times in the last month or so to see that this reduction IS the new size. I stopped buying them as a result. Who wants to watch calories all week to treat yourself to a "half-size fritter" for the same price that just leaves a person feeling hungry and unsatisfied. I should not have to purchase two donuts just to equal the same donut I use to get. Bad move County Market...all you did was piss off the customers who use to like your apple fritters and make people feel cheated. read more

As crowded as this store usually is, and as high as their prices are, I do not understand why I constantly find expired food. Over the past few years I have brought home expired Lloyds ribs, Simply potatoes, Marie's salad dressing, shredded cheese, bagged salad, chips, and who knows what else. Sure they will exchange, if I want to waste an hour plus fuel to drive all the way back there. I try to examine each item for the expiration date in the store which takes twice as long but it is shocking how many things I find on every visit that are at or past their expiration date. Doesn't anyone check the stock? I've also bought a few $15 flower bouquets that died within 2 days. Meat dept staff seem afraid of customers, they rarely come out and if they see you heading towards them they quickly scurry back into their hidden lair. The fresh produce has been ok, they have some great clearance sales on meat if you can buy bulk and freezer package it at home right away, and the deli has some good salads and prepared meals. I do appreciate the on site post office, I gave an extra star for that. For just food price and quality alone it would be a 2 star rating. I really wish they at least bagged your groceries. If you bring your own bags they will take 5 cents off your bill for each one. read more

Possibly the worst produce department I've ever been in. My daughter and I were grocery shopping and both thought the produce looked old so we opted to only buy peppers and cucumbers from this grocery store. Of the four peppers and two cucumbers we purchased, only one pepper was edible. We attempted to cut the peppers to freeze them, but once cut open, we discovered mold inside. Gross. I have had more than my share of bad meat from County Market since I've been shopping there. All the bad meat was packaged in cellophane on styrofoam trays. You'd get home and open the meat and the smell would knock you over. Nothing like having to drive all the way back to the store to exchange that meat! Needless to say, I now go elsewhere for any meat I want to eat. I also do not like that a lot of their dairy products ( milk, half and half, etc) and shelved products have about two- three days left on the date stamp before it expires. I've also seen ice cream in 4-5 qt buckets being priced at $9.99! Thats ridiculously high priced! Pinch points in the store aisles and near the bakery create logjams if customers stop and park in an aisle for any length of time. read more

Parking isn't easy, it's always a nightmare. I used to enjoy this store more but the prices have also gone up significantly, I can't believe how expensive they have become. For the high prices charged, I'd expect someone to be bagging for you and a much higher-end experience. Not a fan of the less than transparent "food donation bags" either. I asked to open one at one point and they refused. Finally, after we had about 5 employees around we got one open, and it was not worth what we paid. clearly a way to move out aging stuff and cheap stuff, there is nothing donation about it, you'd be far better off picking out your own stuff and bringing it to an actual food shelf. Ask the store sometime where the food goes. You might be surprised it isn't Hudson food shelf. I just can't see shopping here at these prices with an ALDIs just around the corner you'd be crazy to spend money here. read more

I have a love hate relationship with County Market. I love the look and layout of the store. It is very modern and has pretty much anything anyone could ever want. On the flip side is the service. My experience with the service tends to be very poor, especially with the meat department. On many occasions, the meat department will leave obsolete signs up frequently in the packaged meat area. It is really frustrating picking up an item, getting it to the register and then ending up in a battle with a cashier because you have been charged the wrong price. This has happened to me numerous times. Other times, they just don't have what they advertise. Instead of following the Uniform Commercial Code, they don't offer substitutes of equal or greater value, they offer substitutes of lesser value at the sale price, a blatant violation of the UCC. The final issue I have had with the meat department is that they tend to pack the worst side of steaks on the bottom of the package. This is pretty much commonplace anywhere however most places tend to grind steaks that should not be sold due to being half fat where as County Market just hides the bad stuff (in what I purchased). I quit shopping County Market because of these customer service issues that I experienced. I now shop at Family Fresh (perhaps the best meat department in town), Aldi and Target, which now has an expanded grocery department. On a side note, the prices are high and they do not provide services such as bagging your groceries. If you are a big fan of the brands at County Market, Dick's Fresh Market in River Falls is a very viable solution (both are supplied by Super Valu). Dick's Fresh Market carries many of the same brands, tends to have comparable to better prices (in my opinion) and has outstanding service (they will bag and load your groceries in your car). read more

Clean store, usually well-stocked. Some popular items aren't available, but most are. Meat could be better. Bakery is good. Deli is ok. The store used to have sushi, but kept downsizing it. Eventually they had just a couple options that were all bad. I imagine they got rid of the sushi because nobody was buying it, but I'd guess people weren't buying it because they don't enjoy getting sick from old fish. I had quite a complaint regarding my experience with the new Meat counter which prompted this complaint. the thrust of the complaint was due to the Butchers denial to cut a thick cut steak, which I later found was a part time worker. The stores manager responded within 24 hours apologizing for my experience and suggested they have took measures to correct the issue, which I was grateful for. Due to the corrective actions made by the stores manager, I have amended this Yelp in the hopes my experience was an isolated incident. read more

Hudson County Market charged me for a plant I did not buy. I noticed the error on the receipt the next day. When I called and explained that I lived out of town, neither customer service nor a manager would check the transaction number on the receipt and credit my Visa card. I was told I had to drive from two towns away to get reimbursed. There was no apology for their error or offer of a complimentary item to make up for my gas expense. I would like to know why stores have such fancy electronic equipment when it cannot provide them with basic information about their transactions. Customer service is nonexistent in the U.S. read more
