The parking lot of this Aldi location isnt my favorite to get out of but once inside the store seems to be fairly decent. Fun fact. Aldi sells some kringles (danishes in the shape of an O) that are made by the O.H Bakery in Wisconsin and that bakery is pretty famous. Their price point for them is excellent. They currently have an almond one and a raspberry variety. This location is a little older and I always feel it's a little dingy, but it's still very clean. It's just old and well shopped there's always a ton of people at this location. Remember to bring $.25! Otherwise, you will be carrying all your items in your hands because carts are locked up and to unlock them. One needs $.25 which you get back when you return your cart. Also remember to bring bags or else you're gonna be spending $.10 a bag. If you don't want to spend the $.10 and didn't bring a bag they often have empty boxes from stock that they will gladly let you have to put your groceries in. Aldi is fairly self serve so You dont often see a team member but whenever I have needed one they are friendly and helpful. We come to aldi specifically to buy bread, shredded cheese, chicken, fish, and various milk milks. Aldi's is ALWAYS my first stop when doing my weekly grocery shopping. The ONLY negative about the store is that you cannot guarantee any item will be in stock. There are certain staples that you can bet 99% of the time will be in - but others are hit or miss. However, given the quality of food and extreme savings, it is worth the minor annoyance when something you want is out of stock. I ALWAYS get my produce here. Same with canned goods and snacks. Also dairy. There are some things I buy weekly that I absolutely know they do not carry - but that's why having a Kroger down the street for my 2nd stop is just perfect. I don't recall ever having any issues with quality. But then again, there are few things that I require name brand for. (Unlike my hubby - but he buys everything name brand at Giant Eagle solely for the convenience factor - it's 1 mile from the house. When it comes to location - there is one that is convenient from one, one on the way home from work and one when I have reason to be up north of the city (heading home from my weekly trip to Cleveland perhaps). Getting a cart is easy enough - I always have plenty of quarters. I love that they always work (unlike other grocery stores) and are kept orderly outside. The cashiers are AMAZING with their speed. THey are also usually very nice. The bonus is the non-grocery items they carry. I have purchased several items of clothing that I love, shower curtains, garden supplies and even rose bushes and tree. I have been to a few locations recently since I'm a newbie to shopping here. I found most stores carry the same items and checkout is about the same. Prices are better on most items but variety of items is limited. Aldi is great for basic shelf items and daily items. Fruit and veggies are plentiful and priced better than my Giant Eagle(although no fuel perks here). Overall I enjoy shopping at Aldi and look forward to their weekly flyer. read more

My husband and I experienced horrible customer service at the Aldi in Gahanna on N Hamilton Road. by not only the cashier, Djenaba, but the store manager as well. We were finishing up our shopping, heading toward the front to check out when the manager rushed over to us to warn us they were closing the store soon, that she'd be "pulling the curtain" on us if we didn't leave soon and "We want to be out of here by 8:10pm tonight!" I assured her, "We understand." She'd already spoken to other customers just as rudely who were equally put off. BTW, we were just feet from the cash register when she tracked us down. We went straight to check out and our cashier, Djenaba, and I smiled at her and said, "Hi!" as she started ringing up our groceries. She ignored me, but a moment later, held up a bag with a single tomato and blurted, "We don't sell just one tomato, you have to buy the whole bag!" I was surprised by her tone and asked, "So you're not going to sell it to me?" Again, she ignored me continuing to check us out. I told her, "This has been a terrible shopping experience - then assured her, "Not just you, but the whole Aldi experience tonight." She glared at me and finally said, "Well, if you'd been a little nicer I probably would have given you the tomato!" My husband and I turned to each other, shaking our heads. I noticed she had no name tag on so I asked for her name. She threw the receipt at me and walked away, without telling me her name. I whispered something under my breath to my husband and she turned around and yelled back at us "Same to YOU!!" as she strutted away. We walked out stunned. To say she was rude is an understatement. And thinking she can treat customers badly and get away with it because she doesn't wear her name tag is cocky & unprofessional. Somebody should be training this girl in good customer service because she has a bad attitude. We've never been told to leave a store before (it wasn't even the closing hour) and the cashier only added insult to injury with her rudeness. After a friend of ours landed a really great management job with ALDI (and has worked there for awhile), enough of his convincing got us to stray away from Kroger for our grocery shopping. Thank goodness! If you remember your cart quarter and bags, you will love the shopping experience! This location is clean and well stocked. If you asked me one year ago what I thought of ALDI Foods, I would have said, "No thanks." Why? Stigma, which is always derived from ignorance. I thought ALDI's was full of generic brand food for those of us who couldn't afford the more expensive grocery chains. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong! (Shame on me!) If it weren't for our friends and family recommending ALDI's, we still wouldn't have discovered this diamond in the rough. Our first test with ALDI's occurred when we purchased their frozen Salmon fillets One Saturday night, not so long ago, the best gourmet cook in the world, my wife, prepared another fabulous seafood extravaganza with the fillets we had purchased that day from ALDI's. Not only were the fillets inexpensive, they were among the very best that we've ever had! No kidding! That was just the tip of the iceberg. Next, we tried their produce, which typically defines the quality of a grocery store. No regrets, just as wonderful as the seafood. Then we ventured into new product domains such as dairy, grains and dessert (of course). We have yet to be disappointed. Bravisimo! The only stark reality about ALDI's is that the selection of food products pales in comparison to the major chain stores. For this reason, and this reason only, I had to give ALDI's only 4 stars instead of 5. So, reluctantly, we still have to shop at Kroger, Meijer's or Giant Eagle. So Aldi's has its fans, and rightly so. Me, I find there is little price difference between this and Meyers (with Walmart being even slightly more expensive). The produce is rarely appealing looking, but does at least cover the basics. Canned goods are maybe 10Cents less or at about the same price. Sometimes the off-brands, well, really do taste off. Cheese is a-ok as are frozen items. It's just not as great a bargain as it cracks itself up to be. read more

My family really enjoys shopping at this Aldi location. It's clean, the staff is always friendly, prices are amazingly low, and with the store update they have introduced some new items. We love the take-and-bake pizza, chicken cordon bleu, oriental styled frozen dinners, super cheap canned goods, cheese selection, and boxed parmesan noodles. Aldi saves our family hundreds of dollars on groceries. If you have been hesitant to try this store, I would definitely recommend! Aldi's has it's quirks. You need a quarter for a cart (even in the good neighborhoods!), you need to bring your own bags (they do have some you can purchase on site, as well), and you have to pay with cash, debit or food stamps. I do the majority of my grocery shopping at Aldi's. Baking supplies (flour, sugar, salt, baking powder/soda, real vanilla extract, spices (slim selection), cooking spray, oils [veg,canola, olive]) Dairy (milk, eggs, shredded cheese, block cheese, cream cheese, butter) Cereal (knock-offs of all the major types) Household (trash bags, paper plates, napkins, paper towels, toilet paper) Meat (pork chops) Frozen (Angus hamburger patties, Chicken breast tenderloins, raw shrimp, vegetables [green beans and asparagus in particular]) PIZZA Things I generally do not purchase from Aldi's: fresh hamburger, produce, and toiletries. Aldi's take and bake pizza is truly magnificent. For $5.99 you get a HUGE pizza. The taste is great. The pepperoni comes with both sliced and cubed pepperoni for twice the pepperoni flavor. Fantastic! I go to the big name stores when I need fresh red meat, and produce, and my regular toiletries (shampoo, deodorant, feminine) The cost savings on certain things I buy makes this a no-brainer for me! Milk is cheap, Half and Half is $1.49 for a quart. Butter is cheap (I'm having a brain fart on prices!) The cost savings on those was over a dollar from the regular stores, I remember that much. Can't beat the prices!!! They may not have everything you're looking for, but you will find most of what you need and for prices that make me jump for joy!! Why ever pay more for simple items like bread, milk, butter, eggs, lettuce, sour cream, some spices, condiments, etc. even meats!! But bring your own bags AND a quarter for the cart. To put it quite simply, I am a die-hard Aldi and Trader Joe's shopper, and I love both stores. When my husband and I go grocery shopping, Aldi is our first stop because we can get much of what we need at such a low price, but it's still great quality. I honestly don't care that I have to keep a quarter in the console of my car for a cart, that I need to bring my own bags so I don't have to buy them there, that I have to bag my own groceries, or even that the store uses the efficient method of shelving the items still in the boxes, because it saves us sooooooooooo much money compared to places like Kroger and Giant Eagle. I also can never get over how fast they cashiers can scan items and keep the checkout line moving fast without their having to be a bunch of lanes open. Aldi puts the bar codes on multiple sides of their packaging so it doesn't matter which way the checkout person grabs it, it scans the first time. I'm shocked that other stores have not caught onto this awesome time-saving trick. With the remodel, this store has gotten even better. I always felt like their produce section was hit and miss before, but they have really stepped up their game. I also wanted to comment on how much "healthy stuff" I have seen Aldi add in recent years. While many of the items they carry are identical to the big name brands (without the big name brand label or cost), a lot of very high quality foods with minimal processing (much better than your typical name brand) are sold here, such as uncured meats and Kerrygold butter. Aldi seems to have it's mind set on continuing to get better and better. read more

This location is better than some, with its nice wide aisles and cleanliness. I decided to give Aldi another try after 20+ years since my last visit. The prices lured me back and they now (FINALLY) take credit cards! Hallelujah! It's basically the same Aldi that I remember; you still need a quarter to get a cart and you still need to bring your own bags. I have found that we actually like some of the Aldi brand foods better than the versions we were buying at the major grocery chains (ex: mini muffins, pizza, pasta, chips, cereal.) I did not care for the bread or the produce I purchased there, but maybe it was just a fluke. Their prices on ground turkey and pork tenderloin are tough to beat. I've recently found an Aldi and shop there occasionally. Sunday mornings seem very busy so I opted to go in the afternoon. Big mistake! The place was packed and a lot of the shelves were empty. I couldn't ask staff if there was anymore because they were all at checkouts. I will say that after I checked out my blueberries burst open and spilled on the floor. One associate stopped checking someone out and swept it up and another went to get me another package. It was great but they each were in the middle of helping someone and had long lines. read more

ALDI Foods is now my favorite place to shop! I cannot even tell you how much money I have saved by shopping here, their prices are unbeatable. I know what you are thinking...if their that cheap than the quality must be as well...you couldn't be more wrong! The only thing is they don't carry alot of personal care items ( deodorant, hair products, tampons) , but if your going just for food than your in for quiet a surprise. You will have to bring a quarter for a cart ( which you get back when your done shopping) and bag your own groceries, but its defiantly worth it. p.s the only thing my husband and I descovered that we don't like from thre is their coffee. read more
