That's a nice store, usually not super crowded. You always can find a parking spot. Low prices for eggs, dairy and produce. Meet and fish is also available. But keep in mind, there's no alcohol.

This remodeled Aldi is a pleasure to shop in, and I do so on a regular basis. Prices are attractive, and employees are efficient and pleasant. There is plenty of parking, and don't forget your quarter for a cart (returned as soon as cart is returned), as this location seems to have fewer handheld baskets than other Aldi locations.

Very nice environment. I love it!!

Did you know Aldi and Trader Joe's are both owned by the same corporation? Just a fun fact to add to the awesomeness that is Aldi.

Some items are on par with prices at whole foods. Also, stockers put items in wrong place or wrong price. The manager does not honor the price on tag on shelf. It is within walking distance, which is a plus, though I do watch the prices and go to Mariano's or Jewel when they offer more for less. EVERYONE at the meat/cheese counter is great, and friendly. They really do know their stuff, though at times, I wish they had a ticketed numbered system. It would prevent me from going off on some of the older Eastern Euro clientele when they try to butt in line. NOT happening! The cashiers are efficient, though there is a tall male one that is new to me. Feels like his name should be Draco. Would almost pass for AI, due to his height an personality, though AI can be programmed to be charming and efficient. He literally saw me put down items on the belt and looked like he was confused as to what his role was, then asked me if I wanted a bag for all my purchases, despite it being obvious that I had none with me. I had to get snippy, because, well, I had to get snippy. Oprah did mention them in one of her shows, so they got "trendy" afterwards, but as other reviewers have said, they do carry items that you would find more at a Treasure Island than a Jewel, Aldi, or Mariano's. They are good for that. Now, if they would only work on their AI cashiers and make them more personable, then I would give them a five star rating. Especially since peeps in the hood voted down Amazon from taking over and planting seeds on the corner of Western and Lawrence, to take over the grocery store market.

Everything I've bought has been fresh, and the prices are honestly some of the best I've seen in a long time. Some of the deals I found were amazing: strawberries for just $0.98 a pack, a large pack of raspberries for $3.98, chicken breasts for $1.98 per pound, and ribeye steaks for $9.99 per pound. With grocery prices being so high these days, stores like this are such a huge help. The only downside is that weekends are extremely busy, so I'd recommend going first thing in the morning if you can. Even with the crowds, it's absolutely worth the trip. Great quality, unbeatable prices, and a fantastic place to stretch your grocery budget!

The wife says we came here once before many years ago but I don't remember it.  They've been at it here for 53 years since 1972. Normally, we avoid it due to the madhouse scene that is usually here (like when traffic can't even enter the parking lot from busy Milwaukee Ave because the parking lot is overflowing lol).  Well, it was -3F on a frigid Friday night and we were across Milwaukee Ave at the Jewel, and it was eerily quiet in Jewel, and we thought it was as good a time as any to also visit Jerry's lol. Well, it was relatively calm, and we found a close by parking spot, but there were still plenty of shoppers in Jerry's.  Their inventory is huge and truly impressive as are their prices.  No wonder this place is so super popular.  We picked up some cherries for $2.49 per lb and strawberries at a promo price of $0.79 per 1 lb container.  I would say 4.5 stars for our visit tonight, but really on their normal super-crowded shopping basis, I would still say 3 stars overall.  I don't personally think the hassle factor of shopping here for fruits and vegetables is worth it for the savings and the variety of offerings, thus the 2 star deduct.  But you have to decide for yourself, and apparently for many others, Jerry's is well worth the trip, and kudos to Jerry's for that and continued good luck and success to them.

Upon checking out.. no cashiers were at a register. ONLY SELF CHECKOUT. A 70 year old or so women was also checking out. This poor woman could be your parents or an elderly person you know. The manager here wanted to save what $15 so another staff member could be stocking a shelf? Crazy. Absolutely insane. This store is pretty decent overall, but the levels of disrespect this shows for your own staff and your community is just unreal. Whoever staffed the store that night should be deeply ashamed of themselves. The stockholders are gonna be ok. Put a working staff member on registers at all times period. What if someone got injured? The self checkout here has a TINY spot to put your bag. Move the bag a bit and the scale freaks out. I can think of endless reasons for a cashier to be working at all times. Think of members of your community who need help if you run a FOOD STORE. Think of ways to improve your business rather than screwing customers. What about people who are neurodivergent and have disabilities? All to save like $100 a week. I bet they pull cashiers every night that last hour. What an F you to the people you sell to. TLDR: 9:30pm and NO cashier working a register. A lot from other countries. Middle Eastern particularly. Also it looked to be fresh. There's a pretty big produce section. Got some things that compared to other places were quite affordable. They carry some of the best fruits and vegetables you can find in the city, and charge far less for them than your typical farmer's market. I'm guessing the produce is not organic but I just bought some peaches that were orgasmic, so... These Michigan peaches were: 1) Huge If you're of normal proportions, make a fist. Now slightly relax your fingers...yup, that big. 2) Firm 3) Juicy 4) Fragrant 5) Sweet 6) Beautiful The prices aren't rock bottom like at Stanley's, for example, but the value for your money is very high. The peaches were $1.50/lb. but I ate every single one of them within a couple of days, a record for me. And to the very end they were nowhere close to being rotten, unlike 2-day-old fruit from You Know Where. There's also an assortment of apples, grapes, watermelons, yellow and purple plums, all looking very healthy. Then there are vegetables like green beans without a speck of blight, peppers so brilliantly orange they could be used to direct air traffic, and aubergines that could suck you into their deep purple vastnesses. They can't match most supermarkets in variety and volume, but they trump most of them in quality. They also set out a bucket of flowers so you can pick up a spray to surprise your honey. I used to swear by the produce truck down by Little Clown Pizza in Avondale, but this one beats them with slaps to spare. Summer's not over yet. You know where to find them.
