Closed February 2025. It's been a favorite for years. Basic Latin food, plus French fries on everything.

I recently had an early dinner, sitting at my usual window table. No liquor license yet, but I was offered a complimentary glass of wine. Nice touch. My appetizer was a Peruvian staple-a Causa (seasoned mashed potatoes) & this came with crab meat. Was very good. A delicious house salad followed, & then I had the Pescado a lo Macho, which was lightly fried red snapper topped with mussels, calamari, & shrimp in a delicious sauce with rice. Portion was very ample, so no room for dessert. Service was very personable and efficient. Prices were fair. I'll be back !

We ordered ceviche, chaufa, ají de gallina, lomo saltado, chicharrón de pescado, and lamb chops. The potatoes were undercooked and cold, papá a la huancaina had no flavor at all. I had to send the Lamb chops back to cook as they came medium rare. They came back almost the same. Aji de gallina had the chicken in chunks. The chicharrón de pescado did not come with any salsa criolla or salsa tártara. The fish was dry. If they came with the excuse that this was fusion with French or Italian food--PLEASE.

We started with the mixed ceviche, which was packed with fish, shrimp, and calamari. The mild version was perfect for us, bursting with fresh, zesty flavors. Another highlight was the Jalea fish plate, featuring perfectly fried fish and yuca. The light batter on the fish was incredibly tasty, especially when dipped in the ceviche lemon sauce--simply irresistible. For a special treat, ask for the llomo saltado from their secret menu. This dish, served with rice and French fries, was a standout. We did not have room to try anything else but their chicken looked delicious as well! Brazas has a festive and lively atmosphere with great music adding to the enjoyment of our meal. The place is spotless and well-maintained. Plus, Wendy, the owner, ensured that everything was perfect for us. Brazas is a local gem. Worthy of trying over and over! Make sure you are hungry!!! We will be back for more!

This was just meh. GOOD: Clean place with hearty portions of food. Food is made to order. BAD: Ran out of chicken by 2:30. So I ordered the chaufa with carne. Came out piping hot with high quality beef, but the rice was mushy with little flavor and nothing else in the rice but scrambled egg. . The aji ( green) sauce was just hot without noticeable clean acidic flavor. The hot sauce was hot but had a gritty texture. UGLY: Nothing ugly but nothing to come back for.

The service here is great, our server took her time talking to us and explaining all the menu items and giving us recommendations. I could not believe how good the food was. There were only a few other parties seated, but it could've been the early afternoon hour we chose. Sitting outside would definitely be nice, but this was a day where Florida had yet to acknowledge that fall is here. Our waitress was attentive and kind, especially considering my two coworkers both had severe allergies. I ordered the fettuccine with the peruvian style huancaina sauce and chicken. Absolutely delicious! My coworkers had the lomo saltado and a ceviche bowl, both of which I'm told were delightful. Will definitely be back! Unfortunately, it may be priced out of my frequent favorites, but it would be a great special occasion location.

The lady at the bar and two waiters could clearly see us through the windows, yet instead of opening four minutes early, they simply watched us stand there in the rain. When they finally opened, we walked into an empty restaurant. We were literally the first customers there and the place was completely empty. We asked to be seated and were told by the hostess that reservations only were accepted. We then asked if we could at least sit at the bar and eat there, but she said the bar was only for people waiting and no food would be served there. What makes this even more frustrating is that when you drive by, there is nothing indicating reservations are required. We discovered the restaurant while passing through the area and were excited to try it. The flavors may be unique, but the attitude felt unnecessarily pretentious for a restaurant that should make more of an effort to accommodate walk ins, especially when the dining room was empty.

As far as food goes, the servers were friendly enough to help me navigate the menu and land on the seafood options. I had the Arroz con Mariscos and it was presented beautifully, was sizable, and most importantly had incredible flavor. The calamari was a highlight of the dish. It was cooked perfectly. My family enjoyed their food as well and cleared their plates. Though I can't recall what they ordered, I know it was delicious. I stole bites. The plantain side dish also stands out in my mind as a must! I don't live particularly close by and it was a hike coming out but I have it book marked for a future pop in!
