I tried Pollon for lunch. I was greeted right away when I entered and ask if it was take out or eat in. Eating in I took a booth and was asked what I wanted to drink and given the menus. Monday through Friday they had a lunch special which consisted of picking an appetizer and an entree. The restaurant It was very clean and neat. I got a Unsweetened tea, Appetizer 'Causa De Pollo' and Entree 'Tallarin Saltado De Carne'. The Causa De Pollo was a lunch size that was delicious. It was I think a scoop of rich mash potato's with a scoop of like chicken salad on top with a delish sauce. The Tallarin Saltado De Carne was a very good stir fried noodle beef dish with red onion, tomatoes and scallions. I splurged and had flan for dessert. This is a little gem in Longwood. Chicken was so good. I haven't had good Peruvian style chicken in a while. We ordered a whole chicken that came with 2 generous side portions. We decided for Yuca Fries and Fried Plaintains. Both really good. I also ordered the Garlic Potatoes. The only item I did not like. The food and service here is outstanding. Honestly, I've only have the Aji De Gallina, Ceviche Mixto, and Maduros, but they are so good that I continue to reorder the same dishes. The Aji De Gallina is Peruvian comfort food on a dish. If you like spicy food, ask for for the green spicy sauce on the side. It takes the Aji De Gallina to the next level. Being in the area I decided to give this Pervian cuisine small place a try. I am typically skeptical of Spanish food these days as I prefer not to bother if I can make it better to my liking at home. I was wrong though, I got the rice and beans and salad with yucca fries all to give a try. The rice used seemed like jasmine rice and it was freshly made (as I don't put it past these days to get stale food - pet peeve). The beans/frijoles had flavor and paired well with it. The yucca fries also piping hot and fresh - not overly oily either, my other pet peeve.. The side salad and side dressing was a nice touch to have with the lunch. I read in the past reviews they have good dips/sauces so I made sure to ask. She offered garlic sauce, a hot green sauce, and salad dressing I went with all 3 and it did a great job of enhancing it all. Service was busy but still welcoming - I forgot to order my typical mango smoothie and despite someone waiting in line she was still nice about having to ring me up twice. The mango smoothie half milk half water is my thing and it didn't disappoint here. The lighting was lacking a bit inside and it was busy so I decided to take it out and eat outside. Also, not sure if service is always quick there but my food came out in about 5-10 minutes while still fresh! Il def be back for another dish. read more

Once we sat down a waitress greeted us very quickly and told us what the most popular plates were since it was our first time here. We got the Lomo saltado a lo pobre and the Tallarín with bistec. Both plates were huge. We got the lomo first and we got soooooo full we had to take the other one home but we tried a bit of it and it was delicious too. I have only now just found out about this place? We found it on a lark because my son was hungry- but for something we never had. So I threw out the idea of Peruvian food?! And with that; we came across this wonderful restaurant. It is a little hidden, right next to a bar and in a shopping center. Very subtle, but it's there! It isn't a huge steakhouse by any means, but big enough for a couple of families and a few couples/duos in search of a great meal. I got a chicken and rice dish with onions atop and mixed veggies within. My son got a fish dish which looked delicious, and had what seemed like a full salad as a side - with rice. Both meals were tremendous! So much food! And seasoned just right. The rice was cooked perfectly- just dry enough so that it made you drink to wash it down as opposed to drying out your mouth. Furthermore, the place is clean and staff friendly. The woman who took our order sensed my son didn't know what he was getting with his first choice (raw fish) , so she guided him to something more his liking. Incredible dinner! This restaurant was recommended and was above our expectations. Food was phenomenal - flavors were on point and very authentic. We were served super fast, we were in and out in less than 45 minutes which is great for a sit down restaurant. It's hard to say what was my favorite, but it was my first time ever trying Yuca a la Huancaina (typically I've had it with potatoes) annnd WOW 10/10 great menu item and a must try! I also have to add that the portions are large and filling, making the price totally worth every penny. I've been looking to find a good Peruvian cuisine restaurant while visiting Orlando since we don't have any at home. My son found El Pollon and we went there for lunch. We both had the half roasted chicken special which was very good, came with beans and rice. I also had the lime and coconut drink which was very good. I went back a few days later and had the Lomo Saltado a la Pobre. Very nice. Like the fried plantains very much. This is a a very authentic Peruvian restaurant and not a Mexican place calling itself Peruvian to try and take advantage of a niche. Will go back again on my next visit. read more

My favorite thing so far is the chicken. It is insanely flavorful and moist. You'd think that the chicken wouldn't be anything that thrilling, but I actually enjoyed it more than the steak. This is the best Peruvian food in the surrounding area. We came here several weeks back and had a wonderful experience. To our surprise, their restaurant was quiet but that didn't hinder our impression. I believe this location is still fairly new. We ordered their Maduros and a few entrees to take home. I had their chicken and my other half had their steak. I don't recall the names but they were delicious. I will order my chicken entree for the next several visits. It was that delicious. This is a new-ish place we decided to try out after seeing a flyer come in the mail for it. After church, we decided to grab some lunch here. We were seated promptly. The restaurant is small but spacious. There are mostly tables lined up against the sides with the exception of one "booth" near the door. The booth was pretty beat up. We placed our orders after browsing the menu. I opted for the Churrasco with a side salad and garlic potatoes. The steak came out a bit tougher than I prefer but the taste was on point. I had to ask for them to bring out some chimi churri. This definitely elevated the taste to another level. The garlic potatoes were absolutely delicious and the crisp salad was a great addition to cut the saltiness of the rest of the meal. My husband ordered the Tallarin Verde con pollo. Pretty much pesto noodles with grilled chicken. The chicken was a good standard seasoned grilled chicken, but the pesto noodles were unique and tasty. Lastly, the quarter chicken, rice and beans were the star of the show. Although, some may say this is basic, I say this is a staple and a classic and you should definitely order it! Really good! We had to run an errand in Longwood yesterday and we aren't too familiar with the area, so we found this place on Yelp. Everything was delicious, but some faves were the ceviche mixto (didn't get a picture, sadly) and the beef chaufa. Our daughter got the kids meal steak and rice and that steak was really tasty and it's like 8 dollars! Service was great, our server was very kind and the food came perfectly fast. We also had leftovers, which is always a plus! The place is in a casual strip center with a brewery and ice cream shop, so that could all make for a fun little foodie day!
