Nice and crusty on the outside, warm and fluffy on the inside. For our meals, I ordered the Smashburger with the Kale and Brussels Sprouts half salad. My husband ordered the Pan Roasted Chicken. Yum!! First, it's worth noting that the presentation was incredible. Almost too pretty to eat. Almost. The burger was flavorful and juicy, and the salad was absolutely amazing! Truly one of the best salads I've ever had. I'm eager to return for the salad alone. Cannot wait! The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing, the staff friendly, and the service was fast. I came here with a group of four for dinner about a month ago and I honestly waited this long to leave a review because I couldn't decide on a rating. After sitting on it I landed on a 3 because I don't see myself ever returning, but it wasn't horrible. For starters, the restaurant is beautiful. The garden setting inside and out is dreamy, cozy, and very Instagrammable. We sat outside on a lovely day. The draping twinkle lights and colorful mural on the side of the building were a nice touch. As for drinks I went with a mocktail, the watermelon fauxjito, and it was very refreshing and packed that watermelon punch! Everyone got something different and about half the table was pleased, while the others ordered something different. When it comes to food we ordered several appetizers to share to kick things off. This includes the bread board, buffalo cauliflower, gnocchi, and roasted squash dip. Out of all of them, the bread board was my favorite because the butter was phenomenal. That's the only thing I got that I would definitely order again. Everything else fell flat with the gnocchi being the biggest disappointment. For my entree I played it safe and got a half size caesar salad with salmon. Getting the half portion was the right move because it was fairly big. I didn't like that it didn't have parmesan cheese on it, but instead a cracker crumble with apparently some baked in. The salmon itself was really salty. Overall, the aesthetic is on point. I recently visited alcove with a few of my teammates for dinner. We were all pretty hungry, so we ordered multiple things to share and then also got individual entrées. We ordered the gnocchi, bread and butter board, buffalo cauliflower, and roasted squash dip. The squash dip and the bread and butter board were definitely the favorites. The butter was truly amazing and some of my favorite butter ever. I think I might go back just for that. The squash dip was unique and flavorful. I felt it would do a little better on a fall menu, but it was delicious and I did enjoy it. The buffalo cauliflower and gnocchi were just OK. For our entrées, we got fish and chips, but subbed the fries for the kale salad. The fish was good, and I really enjoyed the salad. However, the tartar sauce was actually kind of rough. It tasted nothing like any tartar sauce I've had before. I prefer a tartar sauce to be tangy, zesty, pickle-y, etc.. This one truly tasted like it was somehow flour based. I really feel that the tartar sauce greatly adds to a fish and chips meal, so I was pretty disappointed. I asked for an order of lemon aïoli, and use that instead. The coleslaw that came with the meal was pretty good! We ordered some fun drinks as well. I got a mock tail that was carrot based. It was decent, but I don't think I would order it again. One of my teammates had the bartender make her something like a margarita. Sadly, it was a little too sour and she wasn't able to finish it. The space itself is gorgeous! It's super cute in here. The dining room is bright, with wood floors and plenty of greenery. They have a cool enclosed patio/bar area that also has an outdoor patio attached. I can only imagine how busy this place gets in the warmer months! To start, we shared the bread and butter board, roasted squash dip, and the potato gnocchi. We felt the dishes were just ok across the board - the star of the show was the bread and butter by far! Yum. For my entree I ordered the caesar salad with grilled salmon, 7/10. Our server let us know that their cocktails are batched, so modifications aren't possible. I think this is a nice spot to grab a drink and socialize! Service was top notch! From the host, to the servers, to the manager - we received excellent service. We made a reservation for 7pm and our table was ready when we arrived. It was a beautiful evening but we decided to sit inside for our meal. The outdoor seating and patio area is very cute though! The food was great! We started with the hummus plate... Hands-down, the best hummus ever! Then we ordered a mocktail... I ordered the lavender blueberry mocktail, which was very good but a little too sweet for me so I added some water to it. My friends and I walked in Sunday afternoon and luckily they could seat the 5 of us inside. There were tables outside but in a covered patio so it was a bit chilly for March. The inside is bright, with beautiful plants everywhere. We ordered brunch and I had the loaded breakfast hash, thinking it would be a larger portion based on what my friend previously experienced. This was my first time here and I am definitely going to give them repeat business. Friendly, smiling faces welcomed me in and the server was very helpful with suggestions and answering menu questions. I was with a group of individuals and the server didn't miss a beat. The place is spacious and great for groups of all sizes. The lighting and decor were both perfect. The noise level was moderate. And the food is both pleasing to the eye as well as the taste buds!!! I recently visited here for a quick lunch before a meeting. Parking was easy in the 3cdc lot adjacent. Upon entering I was instantly greeted by a very friendly staff member. She offered me my choice of places to sit and I chose the bar by the beautiful living plant wall. To start I had the fauxjito, which was a watermelon mojito mocktail. I was a little disappointed as it lacked much flavor. It was light and refreshing but a little pricey. For my food I had the Kale and Brussels salad with added chicken breast. I loved the combo of ingredients in the base salad, the chicken was just ok. The size was a bit small for what I am used to as an entree salad. The other 2 bartenders were very nice and helpful as well. I would come back again just for the service and atmosphere. This restaurant is beautiful. The plant walls and the hanging ferns are fantastic. We made a reservation for 2:00 on a Sunday for a meal before a matinee. I was surprised to find we were there for brunch; it was a pleasant surprise. Mark had Loaded Potato Hash - short rib, pickled red onion, cheddar cheese, roasted red pepper relish, sour cream. He didn't comment on the flavor details, but he did say it was delicious. I ordered Avocado Toast - pickled red onion, roasted red pepper relish with a side of goetta. The avocado toast was fantastic. In my experience it's odd to find actual sliced avocado on avocado toast. Seems it's usually smashed up, sometimes with different ingredients added in, but not at Alcove. The dish was clean and delicious. The onions and roasted red pepper relish provided a perfect foil for the creamy avocado. The toast was slightly buttered. I did have to eat it with a knife and fork, which was okay by me. I enjoyed this dish. The toast came with hash browns, which were little balls of crispy on the outside/potato flaky on the inside perfection. My goetta came late to the table. In fact, I had to ask if it was ready, knowing all along it had to be ready, just forgotten. I am glad I didn't tell our server to just forget it because it was delightful. I don't know who made it, but it was not the major brand found at the grocery. The best thing - it wasn't greasy/oily. It was purely delicious. I'd order it again in a heartbeat. Cute place in Over The Rhine Cincinnati. Went here for a quick lunch to celebrate my nephews 21st bday and the food didn't disappoint. We ordered, fish and chips, chicken sandwich and the pot pie along with Mac and cheese. The fish needed a tad bit more salt but everything was good and we will be back to give them repeat business. The only thing I would have them get rid of is the coleslaw. It lacked flavor. It was red cabbage that was wet and everything else about it was NOT good. Finally made it to Alcove! I've been to the Oakley and Blue Ash locations several times, but this was my first time here--and wow, it did not disappoint. The space is gorgeous with such a fun, elevated vibe, perfect for brunch with the girls. The service was absolutely amazing. Our waitress let us know right away that if we didn't like something, they'd happily take it back and fix or swap it. We only needed to switch up one thing, and they were so cool about it--and when it came back, it was even better. That kind of hospitality really stood out and made the whole experience feel seamless. The drinks were a hit--we tried the Old Fashioned, the Honey Bourbon, and the Rosé with Gin. Each one was well-balanced and delicious. The food was just as impressive. My chicken and waffles were top-tier, and the hashbrowns easily stole the show (seriously, don't skip them!). My friend ordered another dish that looked amazing, but we both had our eyes on the Smashburger--definitely saving that for my next visit. This space is absolutely gorgeous and one of the reasons we came here TWICE in one day. We were staying downtown for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary, enjoy our city, and Burger Week. We were disappointed to find that the Burger Week offerings aren't available during brunch, even though it was well after noon. We ordered the burgers from the menu and enjoyed them along with the hash browns. I had a refreshing mocktail as well. I was completely full and had to pass on dessert, sadly. Later that night we were in the area for dinner. The restaurant we were at didn't have any interesting dessert options. Had a great experience last night with our party of 11. We were seated in the semi private booth in the back which was spacious and intimate- just perfect for us. We started with the bread board, hummus, crispy potatoes, and cauliflower. All were worth ordering. I would say the green goddess dressing that came with the cauliflower and the creaminess of the butter on the bread board really stood out. You couldn't go wrong with any of these choices. For my main, I shared the short rib pot pie and the pork shank with a colleague. The pot pie was more style than substance. It looked exciting with puff pastry piled high, but it was dry and the meat was overcooked. The pork shank on the other hand- oh my days! Tender, fall-off-the-bone meat, creamy beans, and and savory greens. Take notes, people, this is how beans should be cooked! I was told this dish isn't ordered as frequently as some others, but I'm not sure how- it's clearly the star of the menu!
