Unfortunately, today's experience was disappointing and left us feeling disrespected. After dining and spending over $60, I returned to use the restroom. The host (older man) told me that the bathroom was for paying customers, even after I explained that my wife and I had just finished eating there. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he dismissed what I said and insisted he had not seen us. I wanted to bring this to your attention because this was not the level of service we have come to expect over the years. A host should treat customers with courtesy and professionalism, especially loyal customers who have supported the restaurant for many years. I hope you take this matter seriously and address it with your staff. We are disappointed, because we have enjoyed Hector's for a long time, but this interaction has affected our trust in the way customers are treated. Sincerely, Samuel

They have daily specials Monday through Thursday, offer catering, and you have the option to dine in or to go. There is inside and outside seating available, the service is good, and the food always comes out fairly fast. The vibe is chill, given it is in a laid back brewery. I have ordered the tacos, quesatacos, ramen, fries and nachos. The birria is flavorful, juicy, and does not disappoint. The ramen and quesatacos are my favorite, especially when you go for the daily specials. Same portions/item, only $2 cheaper. My only complaint is their nachos and fries are kinda lame. The menu description says it comes with chips/fries, "nacho cheese", birria, cotija, and sour cream. I envisioned "nacho cheese" being the watery, melted, liquid cheddar cheese sauce that you typically get on nachos. Well, that is where I was wrong. The nacho cheese on their fries and nachos is actually shredded cheese. The fries/nachos have very little cheese sprinkled on top and it is not even melted. I find it hard to call them nachos with the sad amount of cheese used. My only recommendation is to change the verbiage from nacho cheese to shredded cheese if you're not going to change the cheese type, and add more cheese! Other than that, no issues.

I don't think they know what an authentic quesa birria taco is. Birria tacos should always be double tortilla- every establishment knows this. I placed an online order for pick up & even though there was only one person in front of me, the cashier asked me to wait twice while she gave out orders that had just finished up. When she finally got to me, mine had been sitting somewhere else because she came back & handed it to me. The single tortillas were soggy & falling by the time I ate them. Cheese was minimal. I guess when you're inside a brewery you don't have to try very hard to impress this crowd. Drunk people eat almost anything. I recommend prieto's or negro durazo for better quality & better tasting birria tacos.

Lots of folks like the Shorty Fries (short rib on top) so we went with that. I think it's about $13 before tax. It's absolutely terrific. The short ribs were as tender as could be. The other ingredients (cheese, aioli, onion jam, etc.) were all terrific. It's about a million calories and I enjoyed very one of them. High quality comfort food and the portion was good-sized. I'm a fan.

It's Burger Week in San Diego and this lovely mobile dining establishment is perfectly located for me to meet the bf for lunch. The featured burger is their Wake'N Bake'N (6oz beef patty topped with white cheddar, pork belly, sunny side up egg, butter leaf lettuce, tomato, onion jam, and secret sauce on a brioche bun) that usually goes for $13 but for this week, it's going for $6! (Add $4 for the fries and drink). This is a STEAL! A STEAL, I tell ya!!! One burger would have been enough to feed both me and the bf, but we gorged ourselves (each having one) and shared the fries and drink. The burger itself is well flavored. The pork belly is at least 1/2" thick, and the egg yolk makes this super rich. You see those Carl's Jr. commercials where they talk about big, messy burgers? Those are nothing compared to the messiness of this bad boy. "Monster" is right! (in a good way, of course!) I would probably request no special sauce if I ordered this again. Perhaps because of all the flavor of the burger, I didn't really taste much parm or truffle oil on the fries. Many of the patrons ordered loaded fries, which I bet are amazing! That would definitely be a meal in and of itself though. they don't skimp! There was a protest at UCSD today and the truck had to move locations. I found their number on FB and gave them a call to see if they were still planning on being on campus. They were kind enough to text me directions since I wasn't familiar with the hospital area in which they were at. I definitely appreciated that!
