I had a lovely lunch on rue Richelieu, sitting in the Paris summer sun on the sidewalk at Damouri…read more I happened across this place while looking for a lunch treat and it was definitely a treat. I had the Kafta (kebabs [no sticks] with spices and yogurt on the side), which came with an "oriental salad" (it was what I think of as a "normal" salad in the US, with a vinaigrette(?) dressing). Both the Kafta and the salad were very, very tasty. The kebabs were a very "robust" flavor (it's the best word I can think to use), and the salad complemented the spices in the kebabs nicely. I also tried the "thé glace maison", which was okay, but did not really taste of anything, so I wouldn't get it again. It was delightfully empty for a 1pm lunch, so I hesitate to share my treasure with Yelp, but it really is very good and I want them to have the business and you to have the experience.

Because of the impending holiday the food was buffet style only, our waitress was so sweet and brought us a menu while telling us we couldn't order anything but they had a full buffet. Everything was good enough, the falafel were cold but that's the downside of a buffet style meal. We really enjoyed all the sides of hummus and eggplant and veggies. Ultimately I thought that for what we got 21 euros each was pricey but it's also an expensive neighborhood. It was good for a quick dinner but I probably wouldn't recommend it to others as a place they have to go while visiting Paris.

Missing pictures…read more... Quality/Quantity - Just follow the line. Just look for the longest and busiest line and it will be there. Actually, there are two lines, one for take away (on the left) and one for sit down. Both lines are just as long, but the take away moves much faster. Fairly organized. For the take away side, an employee takes orders while you wait in line, to expedite the process. (If you are from CA, think of an In and Out burger drive thru business model). Overall the food is good and reasonably priced. And great advertising seeing everyone walk around with your "sandwiches." Ambiance - Crazy busy. Both inside and outside. But plenty of employees (again both inside and outside). Fairly organized considering the volume. Service - Good. Price - Reasonable.10-15 Euros for a pita sandwich. $11.60 to $17.50 US. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success since 1978.

On first pass, there was a line at the take-out window. When I returned to dine in, there was a rather significant line there as well. My party of 2 was apparently the magic number because they had us stand in the front of the line and we were seated inside almost immediately. The food here is served so rapidly that I seriously doubt anyone needs to wait long as there's a constant turning of tables. Schwarma and Fallafel and whatever else we consumed here was so fresh, delicious, and satisfying that I tried coming back here again the night before leaving Paris. Unfortunately for me, they close early on Shabbat, so I had to be satisfied with my single visit. Outstanding experience, delicious food as over 2,000 reviews already attested to.

This place has that scrappy energy in the best possible way--servers switching effortlessly between languages, bartenders pulling double duty, and everyone working with heart and hustle. They got some strong American diner vibes with authentic french food and wine. We started with a bold and unique Chenin Sous Voile from Domaine Jousset--dry, nutty, and layered like a white port's sophisticated cousin. Highly recommend for anyone looking to drink something memorable. For mains: The flank steak was perfectly cooked medium rare, tender, and full of flavor. Modest portion, but just right considering the quality. The lamb tourine was a standout--fall-apart tender, moist, and rich without being heavy. The sauce was made for mopping up with couscous, and paired beautifully with our carafe of Syrah. Everything was balanced, thoughtfully plated, and delicious without being flashy. Portions and prices were modest, which left room to explore the menu. This is the kind of spot that makes you feel like you're in Paris--not just visiting. Cozy, charming, and quietly brilliant.
