We hired Ron to do the architectural plans for the remodel of a fourplex. He came in with a fancy camera scanner to measure everything, a very efficient process. He was very much on time with the delivery of the initial draft. We discussed minor changes and submitted to the city, and they had just had a few minor corrections before approval, which is better than other architectural teams I have worked with. After we began work on the project, we discovered a beam in the ceiling was not pointing in the right direction, leading to the need for a revision to the plans. The engineer Margarito went on site and approved changes, which allowed us to quickly adapt. Overall this was a very streamlined process, I would be happy to use his services in the future and can very much recommend him.

Deservedly so. Ray and Leslie are a gem. Their team, including Michael Song and Pilar Mutec, were a pleasure to work with. I am fairly detail oriented and Pilar was so easy to work with through my multiple design changes. She showed me multiple renderings and made changes as requested on the renderings, with Mike amending the plans as needed. All the while guiding me along the way. I was minutes away from getting a variance from the DWP to allow my ADU to come within the set back from the power poles when the Palisades' fire started. I still remember after installing the cabinets, I noticed the pantry and one more cabinet's doors were very slightly not aligned and was planning to tell Martin about it. Once the project was started we were so impressed with the first bathroom, we asked if we could add a few more projects. We added new flooring(which looks amazing) painted the living room, kitchen and hallway (very nice) also painted the kitchen cabinets an amazing sage green(HGTV inspired) painted the fireplace mantel and distressed it, after all that we replaced our 60+ year old 10' slider door and added shades for privacy. All this in a relatively short time, about 6-7 weeks. Martin and his squad are all super good people and were a pleasure to have around the house. These 5 star reviews have to be from friends and family. 1. I couldn't get the staff to answer emails in a timely manner. 2. The engineer made changes that I never agreed to. 3. The engineer could not understand simple concepts. He would ask me a question. I would answer it then here we are 6 weeks later going over the same questions. 4. The engineer made a request. I honored the request. I reference the request in an email and he tells me he never made the request. I attach his emails with the request! He then sticks to he didn't make the request. I have at least 15 total complaints but I will stop here. This was by far the worst engineer I have ever done business with. Its hard to believe businesses like this are still operational.

After months of back-and-forth and paying additional fees for revisions, the plans still did not meet the requirements for resubmittal. The most basic things were omitted (measurements for setbacks) and when we approached James about it, he denied any wrongdoing or fault in the matter. Ultimately we had to hire a different professional and start over from scratch, losing significant time and money in the process. This hurt our family financially. I see other people have had similar experiences so I would heed warning. James was a very eloquent speaker and seemed very knowledgeable, but when it came down to it, his plans were unusable and he wasted months of our time.
