I had been thinking of building an ADU for a long time and finally had the team at EZ Plans come out and take a look at my project. They were highly recommended to me by people I trust. Deservedly so. Ray and Leslie are a gem. Their team, including Michael Song and Pilar Mutec, were a pleasure to work with. I am fairly detail oriented and Pilar was so easy to work with through my multiple design changes. She showed me multiple renderings and made changes as requested on the renderings, with Mike amending the plans as needed. All the while guiding me along the way. I was minutes away from getting a variance from the DWP to allow my ADU to come within the set back from the power poles when the Palisades' fire started. The EZ Plan's team fully cooperated when the DWP said no, and redrew my plans from scratch. They helped me qualify the contractors and walked me through the differences in the bids. Whenever I had a question during the construction process, they were there to help and guide me along the way. A BIG thank you to the EZ Plans team for making their part of the construction process as easy as it could have possibly been. read more

Extremely knowledgeable and informative. Highly recommend for any job, not just for the LA area. I trust them for all of my commercial jobs.

Outstanding service from start to finish. The team at EZ Plans showed incredible commitment and dedication to my project. Mark, Jorge, and Cindy were especially great to work with--knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely invested in making sure everything was done right. Communication was clear, timelines were respected, and the final result exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend EZ Plans to anyone looking for a reliable and professional team. read more

Ez Plans did not disappoint! Everything went smooth from start to finish, with permit issued in a very reasonable time frame. Mark, Pilar and Cindy were fantastic to work with and very clear about every step. Pilar took our ideas and implemented them wonderfully. (She was very patient and helpful when we were undecided on a roof line.) We are now under construction and can't wait for the final product. Would highly recommend. read more

This was a great company to work with. First, they are upfront about their fees, and are clear about what to expect with 3rd party fees such as city or engineering. They designed exactly what we wanted and made some suggestions as well. All was friendly and professional, not to mention they were pretty fast. Highly recommended. read more

I highly recommend EZ plans. Mark, Pilar, Michelle and Claire are very attentive. We worked closely with Pilar, she was amazing and professional explaining every step of the process of the city permits. They helped us obtain a Tenant Improvement permit for our new ice cream parlor. We are very pleased we used Ez plans for our project. read more

I love working with them. Honest, genuine, and experienced. I definitely recommend. Ray and mark are awesome!

We have had a very good experience with EZ Plans as they have helped us design our remodel. They have been very accommodating as they have taken our ideas and formed them into buildable designs. They have taken care of all the technical aspects and all the permits etc and they have also set us up with an interior designer and building contractor. We're really excited for construction to begin and feel like we're in good hands. read more

My experience has been less than EZ. The plans have been over engineered for a single story house. Specific framing plans have not matched up which has made it a nightmare for our contractors. Need for clarification on plans when discrepancies were discovered was met with finger-pointing and calls from Michael complaining about our inept crew while admitting there's things you just need to figure out. We still do not have clear plans. We have had multiple meetings with the City to advise who have confirmed everything is overdone without consideration of the property. The delays caused by the plans and inattention to detail, inaccurate purchases and problematic customer service to answer questions has cost us time (an additional 6 months and counting) and over $63K (and counting). Still more issues are arising. Not recommended. read more

Very professional and systematic in their work. We worked with Pilar who was exceptional and kept us in the loop at all times.

We hired EZ Plans to assist us to redesign the floor plans of our home. We wanted to build an addition to enlarge our master bedroom, bathroom and closets. From beginning to end, the communication with EZ Plans was professional and they were there with us every step of the process. We could not have done it without them! I highly recommend their services! Definitely worth the value! read more

EZ plans is the best! We have been impressed with them every step of the way starting with Leslie then Michael, Pilar and Cindy. I worked very closely with Pilar for a number of months and she is extraordinary! She is so kind and so open to Feedback. Our plan approval process couldn't have gone any smoother. They are all so professional, knowledgeable, easy to work with and amazing at their jobs. Best decision to use them! Recommend very highly!!! read more

You've seen my review. Talking to others who have had similar experiences- they are in legal trouble with clients. I know one currently who is arbitrating. Apparently they aren't architects but a franchise. It also appears many of the bad reviews that where posted in the past have been removed. Lesly is absolutely horrible! read more

As someone new to the world of home remodeling, I was feeling a bit lost, not knowing where to start. But EZ Plans stepped in and made the whole process much smoother than I could have imagined. My project involved adding a small master bedroom, bathroom, and closet to my home--less than 300 square feet in total. What stood out to me about EZ Plans was their approachability and their willingness to guide me through every step of the project. Pilar, the senior design manager, was instrumental in making this journey enjoyable. Her expertise and patience were evident from the first interaction. She took the time to explain things in a way that was easy to understand, even for someone like me who had limited knowledge of adding anything to a house, let alone another bedroom. Pilar's support made a significant difference, as she was always available to address my questions and concerns. Working with EZ Plans felt like a collaborative effort, which I truly appreciated. I now have drawings and plans in-hand and the process could not have gone smoother. I will be starting construction on the addition soon. I highly recommend EZ Plans. Their team, especially Pilar, made the entire process a positive and rewarding experience. A big thank you to EZ Plans for making the first steps of a daunting process as easy as possible for this newbie! read more

I cannot speak highly enough of EZ Plans and their amazing team. I needed to create additional living space in order to move my aging parents in, one of whom is wheelchair-bound, from out of state. EZ Plans designed the plans for my garage ADU conversion/existing home addition remodel. As this was my first renovation project, EZ Plans walked us through the process seamlessly. From the start, Lesley not only gave us a realistic timeline, but also gave a transparent pricing breakdown of the proposed project. Lesley and Michael connected us with our amazing architect, Maria, who really brought our vision to fruition. Maria patiently worked with us to design a plan that would combine the needs of my parents, as well as myself. From coordination of site visits, to connecting us with potential contractors once the plans were finalized. Once the plans were approved, Cindy helped coordinate site visits, and connected us with some of their vetted contractors for bids. I also chose to get "outside" bids, but ultimately selected one of their vetted contractors, as they were the best fit. Now, as we embark on the construction phase of the renovation, they continue to provide support through this arduous process. If you're looking to remodel your home, I highly recommend EZ Plans and their team. You will not be disappointed. Taz Henry, Los Angeles read more

This was our first time doing a big job like this and EZ Plans was amazing! They were highly recommended by my Contractor and they answered all my questions (and there were many) and heard my concerns. Everyone was great... Ray, Glen, Lesley, Moumita. We poured new foundation for a portion of our house, designed a new kitchen & laundry room as well as planned ahead for a 2nd story addition. We also tore down our garage and rebuilt it with a guest bathroom for pool guests as well as a second story ADU guest house which has was rented out very quickly! They had to help keep the original look of our old farmhouse... but updated. Loving where we're living every day!! read more

I love working with the talented staff at EZplans. Mark, Pilar, Michelle, and Claire are the most enjoyable people you want to work with when navigating the complicated, and often very frustrating process of obtaining a building permit for your project. Whether your project is a simple remodel, to a full blown dream build they can do it all. These guys make the complicated task of design, plan, coordination, and permit submittal and clearance a truly EZ process. As a seasoned building contractor, I dread in dealing with the City of Los Angeles. My quality of life is much more pleasant now that I have the staff at EZplans working on my side. The EZ team is made up of several very talented, and great people who are EASY to work with. They streamlined the process down to a science, and most importantly get you to permit issuance in a quick and efficient manner! read more

I have really enjoyed working with the team at EZ Plans. From start to finish, the experience has be great. They did a great job setting expectations and really spelling out the process of getting my ADU plans approved. I interviewed several architects before hiring EZ Plans and I decided to move forward with EZ plans because they kept things simple. I recommend EZ Plans especially if you have a good idea of what you want. Pilar, Cindy, Claire, Mark, and Ray were the perfect team to get my plans done. read more

I've had many projects requiring architects the traditional way. After moving from SF to LA during the pandemic, I needed to find a new architect within the new normal of our world. EZ Plans sends out a 3D scan photographer to map out the site as a prep to a preliminary meeting over video. In someways a more convenient and bundled method than doing a single walkthrough with an architect. Each step of the process was thoroughly explained, great communication by each member of the team. Pilar and Michelle, my contacts at EZ Plans, took a deep dive into the history of the property to discover both the limitations and restrictions of my ADU project. In the end they were able to unlock a huge gain on square footage that I didn't think would be possible. Before I knew it, we were already looking at the first version of the layout, and the team was very open about my suggestions and changes. Two or three rounds later, they were off to the city. Four months later, we had our permit. Very "EZ", and everything was well "Plan"ed. ;). Highly recommended at 1/3 or 1/2 the cost of a traditional architecture firm. read more

Hello Readers, This is Serge Abdalian owner of EINFINITE DESIGNS INC, a design build contractor here in Los Angeles. I have been a general contractor for the past 30 years working on mid to high end homes. I have and do work with many architects and structural engineers on many of my projects that are brought to me from many sources. I now am building a addition to my home and wanted to make it be as smooth as possible because even with all of the architects and engineers i have its always a delay in some way. So then i decided to find someone totally new to work with. After some research i came across EZ Plans, Inc. and after reading their reviews i decided to give them a call. I had a on line meeting with them and right off the start felt very comfortable based on all my questions and their answers. Price well they were almost 4k more than my 2 other architects but the most important thing for me was the fact that i new this was going to be the best decision to go with them and i did. From the beginning i worked with Pilar who is amazing from designing and communication. She was there for me at all times with super fast responses. Everything they told me and had down on my contract matched and they never failed. Again thank you so much Pilar you are the best. Since then i have already given them a new project i have that they are working on and again same delivery of what they promised. So if you are looking for a good firm that will come through go with EZ Plans and make sure you work with Pilar but the rest of the team is as great ash she is. Good luck all. read more

We had a fantastic experience working with the EZ Plans team. They designed and managed the permitting process for our modest home renovation (we have a 1,500 sq. ft. single family home - our update wasn't anything fancy, just a refresh of our 1940s home to bring it into the 21st century). The upfront, fair pricing was particularly nice for us, since this was our first renovation. Everyone we worked with at EZ Plans was professional, courteous, and quick to respond. Thank you Lesley, Glen, Mark, Kelly, and Ray for making our design & permit approval process A LOT easier than we ever imagined. We also want to recognize our fantastic architects, Joe Crowley and Carlo Guzman. Their designs were great! Joe listened to exactly what we wanted to accomplish - he made us feel heard, but also made our design goals achievable and much better than what we originally wished for. Joe was also AMAZING during the permitting process; he explained everything in detail and was always on top of the building department to get our permits approved ASAP. We will recommend EZ Plans to all of our friends / neighbors. read more

We initially went to EZ Plans for architectural plans and permits for a renovation. We were so happy with their work, we added the kitchen and bath design package. For this we were assigned to Pilar, who is FABULOUS. She is kind, caring, enthusiastic, and extremely talented! We had a wonderful time working with her, and were thrilled with her ideas, her designs, and her incredibly happy attitude. She took our wishes, and created the dream kitchen and master bath we envisioned and hoped for! read more

Elated after having our house addition plans permitted by the city yesterday! We have a mid century home in Woodland Hills that we are having a 350i-sh sq ft addition done and needed plans for. It was important to us to make sure the architectural integrity of the main structure was kept but also the new addition was seamlessly integrated. It was more of a struggle than I ever anticipated to find an architect that I both felt was competent, understood our vision, was willing to work on a smaller project, but also wasn't the cost of a new Porsche. After several months of dead ends, I happened upon EZ Plans. The team there made the process as painless as possible. A big thanks to Pilar and Michelle for tirelessly getting the permits and waivers approved. Michael, Fernando and the rest were a pleasure to work with as well. We can't wait to get construction started :) read more

I'm so glad that, for once, the Yelp reviews were true! I called a bunch of architects who all refused to even call me back or who made me feel like my job wasn't as important as someone else's. I'm doing a small renovation, but EZ Plans gave me such an incredible service that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend their services to anyone and everyone. Alma went above and beyond when I was sick and unable to meet. It was first class service all the way. They never made me feel like my job was too small or insignificant. Even my contractor complimented them. He said he was not expecting the level of detail he received on the plans. They gave me options. They listened to my needs and adjusted things based on our discussions. I would definitely use them again! read more

Initial contact with, forgive me if I misspell your name, Kathleen went great. I am in a difficult situation with the LADBS and obtaining a permit and she heard me out, and transferred me over to Mark. Mark, thank you for taking the time to speak to me even though your services is not applicable to my situation. Mark took the approximate 15-20 minutes to speak to me, offer some advice, etc. Now a days, the welcoming, honest, truly empathic businesses and staffs is a rarity. EZ Plans, even though I could not use your services this time, rest assured in the future you will be the first I contact to take my business. read more

My wife found EZ Plans online. She saw their work and decided to schedule an appointment. We spoke to one of the principles at EZ Plan and decided to move forward. We were assigned to Pilar, one of their designers. We were blown away with her work. We've always dreamt about having a custom home and we felt she was able to put our ideas into reality. She was VERY responsive to all of our questions and helped with all the vendors that was associated with the planning/ build/ city permits. We were glad to have her on side. Her design included a 2-story single family dwelling and a detached ADU. We would definitely recommend Pilar to all my friends and family. read more

So glad I chose to work with EZ Plans for our one car garage & workshop addition attached to the existing 2 car garage and a 2 Story ADU. I had some very specific requirements, and our Senior Designer Pilar provided me with several well thought out design ideas in both floor plan and 3D. After several rounds of design updates, she was able to successfully process the plans with the city. EZ Plans even referred us to some local contractors for construction. We would highly recommend EZ Plans to anyone looking for architecture services. read more

Three years ago my husband and I purchased a piece of land out in Acton with the hopes of building our dream home. We found EZ Plans via Yelp and thought, "this is going to be easy!" (Disclaimer: building a house in LA County is not easy!) EZ plans did their best to make sure things went as smoothly as possible. Glen and Susan were very helpful with the entire process. They designed us the home of our dreams with every architectural detail we asked for. Jessica designed us an amazing interior plan that was exactly what we had envisioned. As of right now we have one of the most beautifully graded pieces of land in Acton and just received our permit to build our home. We are hoping the prices of building materials drop soon so that we can make our dream a reality! Thank you EZ Plans for making it possible! read more

This is a great team with a pricing concept that's clear and excellent service all around. We are doing demo today after a several month iterative process for an interior redesign of most of our 3300 sq ft - 3 baths, kitchen, folding glass wall, flooring and some room reconfigurations. Glen, Moumita and the entire office were exceptionally thoughtful and helpful. The office are building dept wizards, too, and seems to have a great ability to turn around permits. This was a major undertaking and while we had many ideas, we were newbies. Ray suggested working with their independent interior design contractor, Jessica Patterson, who is a delight with good ideas and also super-collaborative. The goal was to have a complete package with finishes to bid out, and while it turned out we found our own contractor, he tells me the interior design plans are among the best he's seen. Picture below is 90' into demo today. Will provide follow-up when completed in 6-8 mos, we hope. read more

EZ Plans Architects - Day 1 demo - Architects Near Me - Los Angeles, California

This was not my first time doing a major renovation on my home, but the first time working with such an awesome, professional architectural company as EZ plans proved to be! Since I had a very clear vision of what I wanted to do, from our very 1st meeting I felt comfortable and confident that Glen would go out of his way to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted... Soon after the plans were executed permits were obtained and I got started on this project. 9 years ago, when I bought the house I added a master bedroom, but was always sorry I didn't add a 2nd upstairs bedroom using up the existing flat roof area and now that it's complete I am super happy and know it's worth every penny spent. There were hiccups on the road to completion - but what construction project runs smoothly without a few obstacles? Each time, Glen immediately stepped into action and efficiently, with his typical professional calm and expertise, got us back on track without any delays... he was always available for calls and took his time answering questions, explaining in detail! I loved that EZ plans have a clear formula for bidding... what ever your projects needs and requirements are, be that purely architectural plans, engineering or more, you pay for, no extra's and no hidden fees. Thank you EZ plans! It was a pleasure working with your team! read more
