Avo is incredibly patient, taking the time to listen to our ideas and really understand our vision. Beyond his talent, Avo is professional, approachable, and truly cares about delivering the best results. Every project he touches reflects his creativity, expertise, and commitment to quality. He was straightforward, knowledgeable, and really took the time to understand what we wanted instead of pushing his own agenda. Building an ADU is overwhelming from the start.. But Avo really carried that weight for us. He dealt with the back-and-forth, and made it feel manageable instead of stressful. He kept us updated every step of the way and was always available when we had questions. We never felt confused or left wondering what was happening. That kind of communication and ownership made all the difference. What stood out most was how much care he put into the details. Everything was done thoughtfully and with intention. If something needed adjustment, he handled it right away. The finished ADU honestly came out better than we expected. The space feels comfortable, well-designed, and solidly built. It's clear he takes real pride in his work and wants the final result to truly reflect that. Working with Avo felt organized, professional, and stress-free. We would 100% work with them again.

I found out about Evolve from Angie's List. I contacted them and spoke with Asaf (or Asaph--he…read morespells it both ways). He was very cordial over the phone and we set a day to meet to get a quote for a master bathroom remodel. I ended up using Evolve after meeting with Asaf. One of the things that sold me was his guarantee that there were no hidden costs in his quote. He made a list of things I needed to pay for and told me that his team would cover everything else. Look--nothing is ever perfect, especially when it comes to home repair/remodeling. That said, whatever issues I had (and there was nothing remotely major), Asaf handled immediately. I've never had a contractor or company rep respond almost immediately to text messages or phone calls. The work itself was great. Again, any minor thing I pointed out was fixed promptly. The craftsmanship of the tiling is pretty awesome, in particular. Craftsmanship is one thing. Service, communication, and honesty are something else entirely. I put a lot of trust in Asaf and while he wasn't the guy doing the work itself, he knew the game plan and was always more than happy to help with any of my questions or concerns. I just signed the "completion certificate" for my bathroom project and wrote a check for my final payment. As promised, there were no hidden or extra costs. I'll continue to recommend Evolve to friends and coworkers, and will get a bid from them again when I move on to my kitchen remodel. In the meantime, I'll be enjoying my new bathroom. I would be very surprised if anyone has a negative experience with Evolve that Asaf wouldn't be able to fix. I recommend them highly.

It does appear the…read morecompany managed to get it reinstated since then, but when this original review was written it was 100% suspended. I have attached a screen shot from the State Contractor's License Board to prove it. So Jay is completely lying here when he says their license was never suspended. And Evolve did send us an invoice for $5,000 for a tarp. If anyone who reads this does not believe me, send me a message and I will show you the invoice. It's from Jay himself! Jay does correctly point out that Evolve is not a defendant in the California Dept. of Insurance's enforcement action against their owner. But as I previously said, it does mention Evolve many times, 25 times to be exact. Here's a couple direct quotes... "For multiple victims, after Respondents and/or their agents or representatives recommended or engaged CalMaster Restoration, W D Contractor Services Company, and/or Evolve Construction & Restoration, the contractors failed to complete work on the victims' homes, often times forcing victims to unnecessarily pay out of pocket for housing accommodations and/or for repairs on their homes, exposing their clients to financial loss." "On or about January 26, 2025, L.W. received an estimate from AAA providing that the costs to repair and remediate her property would be just over $15,000. On or about March 5, 2025, Evolve and NICA submitted an estimate to AAA. In total, the estimate provides that the costs to repair and remediate L.W.'s property would amount to $215,865.53. The significant discrepancy between Evolve's estimate and AAA's estimate caused L.W. to further review Evolve's estimate. 248. Upon review, L.W. found that there were items included on the estimate that could not possibly be attributed to her property, including removing creosote from a chimney that does not exist on L.W.'s property." I would also encourage anyone to read the LA Daily New story about Evolve and its owner, Aleksandr Guldshtadt. The title of the story is "Encino insurance adjuster tried to scam Eaton fire victims and others, state alleges." Here's a quote from the story .... "State investigators believe Guldshtadt controlled NICA while having financial interests in at least three of the contractors hired using client insurance funds. It is illegal in California for an insurance adjuster to "receive remuneration from or have a finance interest in" any firm that obtains business related to an insurance claim handled by the adjuster." One of those three contractors? Evolve. We hired Ron to do the architectural plans for the remodel of a fourplex. He came in with a fancy camera scanner to measure everything, a very efficient process. He was very much on time with the delivery of the initial draft. We discussed minor changes and submitted to the city, and they had just had a few minor corrections before approval, which is better than other architectural teams I have worked with. After we began work on the project, we discovered a beam in the ceiling was not pointing in the right direction, leading to the need for a revision to the plans. The engineer Margarito went on site and approved changes, which allowed us to quickly adapt. Overall this was a very streamlined process, I would be happy to use his services in the future and can very much recommend him.

The timeline was totally reasonable (honestly, my slow email responses probably added more time than anything on their end), and the plans were approved by the city on the first try, which was a huge relief. It was also hard to find someone willing to take on a smaller project at a fair price, and they were very thorough. Even months later, they've still been responsive with follow-up questions from our contractor. Would definitely recommend, especially for smaller renovations or additions.

Ben didn't just treat us like another project; he truly understood our situation. He worked tirelessly to resubmit plans and handle corrections as fast as possible because he genuinely wanted my mom to be able to get back to work and reopen her shop. It's rare to find someone who takes your personal success so personally. Beyond his expertise, Ben's pricing is very reasonable and fair, he is not overpriced at all, which is hard to find in this area. He was also incredibly helpful and understanding by allowing us to pay in installments while the business was closed. This financial flexibility was a lifesaver for us and showed his true character as someone who wants to help, not just make a profit. If you want an architect who is highly skilled, honest, and truly cares about your family and business, Ben is the one to call. We are so grateful for everything he's done. Thank you Ben!
