I went shopping earlier today, and when I saw that "special offer," I decided to grab four of…read morethem--it looked like a great deal. But when I got to the self-checkout, what a surprise: it turned out they were actually regular price. I asked the attendant on duty where that offer was posted; she seemed to think I was lying and asked me to show her. When I showed her the display, she said she didn't know who had put the items there and that the price wasn't valid. My complaint is this: I don't know who the supervisor, manager, or person in charge is, but they really need to pay more attention to where they place items--and if the store makes a mistake, they should honor the displayed price.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up about the new Ralphs gas station…read more It started out great until yesterday. I got gas around 8:40 AM, and at 8:46 AM I received a notification from my bank that my card had been declined for a $150 fuel purchase because of an incorrect PIN. It wasn't my transaction. I later found out that someone had placed a card-skimming device (transponder) on the gas pump to steal card information. Unfortunately, my card was one of the ones that was compromised. If you're getting gas there, please be careful. It's a good idea to monitor your bank account closely after using the pumps and report any suspicious activity immediately.

Two hours later, I came by and got a Philly sandwich. Oh my goodness. It was gooood. I added the spicy bbq sauce and the Neal was completely amazing. The chili itself was a meal. The place reminds you of a bbq place that you may find while traveling. I didn't get a chance to go to the market but that looked great as well. If you want to feel as if you are 100 miles away from KA and want a great lunch, this is the place. While there go next door and check out the bikes

I frequently go to the market, they have a great selection of meats, sausages, poultry and fish…read more They also have several different proteins that already marinaded. They also have Taylor ham/ pork roll. Today we decided to try their lunch on the patio. I had the jalapeño cheese burger with a side of chili beans. The meat patty is massive, maybe a half pound. The meat was juicy and seasoned perfectly. The burger had white American cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato and a ton of jalapeños. The side of chili beans was an 8 oz container filled to the brim with steamy hot ground beef and kidney beans. Great flavor and texture. My daughter had the tri tip sandwich on a garlic buttered roll. The sandwich was jammed packed with thin sliced tri tip. She has the macaroni and cheese. She loved it. They have beer on tap so I had to get a liquid candy. It was a solid meal. Will have to return with the rest of the family.

Really weird shopping trip. Dont think I will be back. I have shopped here for years…read more A worker with long hair was shopping for online orders and was throwing bags on produce, left a trail of bags when he walked away. David was my cashier and Deanne was the bagger. David made a comment to Deanne about not having closed with her in a long time. Her response was, "not long enough." She was clearly unhappy. Everyone was basically. Oh!! And no precut foods, salads, or cold dressings, ice cream section was depleted. Very messy store

Adding a quick note about finding gluten-free pre-made cake at this Von's. Our neighbor, who's a…read moredear friend, has to have gluten free baked goods. It was her birthday this week and while I'm stuck at home recuperating from a medical thing, I had helped out Dear Hubby by doing research online for who would have gluten free cake near us. Vons and Ralphs came up with options. Ralphs is not as convenient, and I like this Vons store, so I suggested he go there. Once he did, he had trouble finding anyone who works in the store who knew where said cakes would be. Even at the bakery counter they sent him off in a vague direction. He wasn't finding the gluten free baked goods at all until just before leaving the store and heading elsewhere, he saw a supervisor. Once he explained what he was looking for and how he'd been to different locations in the store without success, the supervisor walked him to the correct area. The supervisor also made a point to tell the bakery clerk where the right spot was, too. I'm sure it's frustrating for management at stores to have employees who either haven't been trained properly or who don't retain information that would make for a better customer experience. At that point in DH's description of his visit, I would have given three stars. However, the strawberry cream layer cake looked very yummy once he bought it and brought it home. And, best of all, our friend loved it! That was a special treat for her as she wouldn't normally go out any buy such a cake for herself. That, along with a homemade card, made her feel special. For that, Vons will get a bump to four stars. Still, it would be helpful to have staff members be familiar with special request kind of foods - like plant-based cheeses, gluten-free baked goods, etc. Just saying.

Particularly, after mom passed away, they help me out when it comes to buying food such as the hot and ready stuff. The atmosphere is great, lively, especially when it's busy. There are plenty of employees around if you need help. The store is generally clean. The items are stocked. Plenty of parking space. Getting out is a problem like many stores. Sometimes, they have few people working the counters while there are many people waiting. If you have a few items, I recommend, use the self-checkouts. As far as prices go, you need to use the app as well as look at the paper ads instead of throwing them away. Use coupons if you can. There are great deals, but understand if you don't, this is a grocery store. Traditionally, grocery stores are almost always more expensive than places like Target, Walmart, Trader Joe's, food markets, etc. It's always been that way. But it's also the times. Inflation has gone up over the years, so prices are higher than most. It would be great if the politicians cared when you vote for them to do their job. Not stand around and tell the public, live with it. Which is why, many times, we have different people elected. Hold them accountable, not enable them. Maybe one day, inflation & prices will eventually come down when we the people elect politicians who actually care, not say things that make you nod your head and smile. In the end, I like coming to this Vons location. I've had great experiences shopping here. While I don't do my main grocery shopping here, I come for the deli, and sometimes for the fruit and vegetables. They do have great prices, but use the app and ad paper when shopping.

I worked at Erewhon nearly a decade ago and have been a shopper ever since…read more.. Let's start with what should be obvious. Produce. Erewhon's advantage here is that they can get produce from small, local farms. Read the label, but outside of that, avoid the produce. Their tonic bar is ahead of the game. Most smoothies are sugar bombs disguised through "healthy" ingredients, but if you can read through them like Peyton Manning at the line, you can find one's worth ordering. The cafe is 80% hit and 20% miss. From the taquitos to the buffalo cauliflower...they pack a punch. But then you get the chicken pot pie, and you'll learn to appreciate the frozen ones. When it comes to grocery items, they are always a step ahead. Whether you want Jose Andres potato chips or chicken noodle soup the way abuelita makes it, they've got you covered. Really, Erewhon is a store with value if you have the eye to spot it. If you want to hate on it because influencers love to post "and we're at the most expensive grocery store in the world," or you choose to love it because you feel special for being able to afford it, you're wrong either way. Find your reason to appreciate it because it meets your needs.

To be fair, the prepared food is pretty good and it's clean with a nice ambience. The service is usually pretty good as well. The downside is that it's very very very very overpriced. I don't like using repetition of words like this, but in this case, I think it's relevant. It's nice in terms of window shopping but most things in there I would never buy because they are not worth the price in my opinion.
