I'm updating my review to 1 star because the bakery manager deserves to be fired. What's her name? Valerie?
Called Tuesday 9/11 to order myself a bday cake. No answer in the bakery over and over again during business hours. Continuously get re-connected to the lady in customer service with the accent. I ask for the bakery, she says "one moment" and disappears until you hang up. She's fricken useless.
Called Wednesday 9/12 over and over again. No answer. Continuously get re-connected to the lady in customer service with the accent. I ask for the bakery, she says "one moment" and disappears until you hang up. Again, what a useless woman. At this point if she recognizes no ones answering the bakery, wouldn't she find out what the problem was? Totally useless worker.
Thursday I WALK IN to the store after no one answers my calls for the third day. Walk to the bakery at 7 pm, lights are off. I asked a manager in the store to help me. Most helpful dude ever. He gets someone at Starbucks to take my cake order. SINGLE LAYER. ORANGE BUTTER CREAM FROSTING. CHOCOLATE CAKE. GREEN AND YELLOW FLOWERS. Make it say..."Happy Birthday" you literally cant mess that up.
OKAY. So I call the bakery the next day to make sure the girl at Starbucks delivered my cake order to the bakery. Because let's be real, I was kind of worried since ya know, a barista took my cake order and not the incompetent absentee bakery staff. I legit have the worker read over my order. All is well. Everything seems to be okay. I'm confident that THIS YEAR THEY FINALLY WONT SCREW UP.
Sunday morning comes. Send my mom to pick up the cake, it's a vanilla frosting, double layer cake with orange writing that says Happy Birthday Elizabeth. Yeah the name on the pick up was Elizabeth so they just assume that's the birthday person?! I didn't ask for that? Better yet, I didn't ask for any of that cake! Lol.
The staff says that the bakery manager tells them if the customer doesn't like what they do they don't have to take the cake and they can leave. Cool, manager. You must like not making sales and giving away a lot of free cake. Because this is my third free cake.
The issue is, I seriously want to give Albertsons my business because I actually ENJOY the flavor of the cakes. It's such a bummer every year being told basically you don't matter when you're a paying customer.
Last year I asked for a neon colored butter cream cake for my birthday and they gave me a pastel colored cake covered in whipped cream.
Like seriously get it together. People order from you because you offer that service. The LEAST you can do is follow the guidelines and make people what they fricken order. read more
