I shop at this store all the time for years, as I live in Desert Ridge and it's close. I have always had trouble with the store. Of course they're clean and the carts are sanitized. All major chains are. Most problems are that most employees are not that friendly and look like they do not like their jobs. One of the friendly cashiers loves to talk about his views politically if he thinks you are on board. I avoid him. I go to customer service constantly because the discount has not been taken off properly or the price rings up wrong. Check your receipts. At Frys this never happens, and the signs are spot on. read more

I've been coming to this Albertsons faithfully for consecutive years, almost every night straight, for a long time.... And what does that get you? The answer is nothing. No loyalty card, no discounts, no mailers, no appreciation day, no thank you emails, no coupons sent straight to my box... And this is definitely not the place where everybody knows your name either :/ They used to have a policy for the long lines where 3 was too much... Well, forget about it too. I own a vacation time share at Marriott's Canyon Villa. Besides Costco (for big boxed items) this store is one of my family's favorites in so much that we shop here at least twice a day. We fell in love with their salt and vinegar chicken wings and place daily special orders. Their entire staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. I have been going to this location for a few years now. This location is very nice and clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. My only complaint is the women's bathroom. They are so gross and dirty and do not match the cleanliness of the rest of the store. It is noticeably dirty, there is always trash on the ground, the stalls are disgusting, and the sinks and mirrors are always filthy. It looks like they never ever clean them, and you dont want to touch anything as soon as you go in. I do not go to this location as much as I used to because of this. I think this location should take the time to clean up the bathrooms to reflect how nice the rest of the store is. read more

Shopping at this store is like being in an abusive relationship. I know I should stay away, but I continue to think that things will magically change. The extremely close proximity to my house is what keeps me coming back. But the more I shop at this Albertsons, the more I despise it. The store is always running out of the items that are on sale. Many products on the shelves are extremely close to their pull dates. I've even seen items on the shelves that are well past their expiration dates. The produce rarely looks fresh and the meat and poultry never looks like it's great quality. Albertsons staff is very friendly, but it doesn't really help when most of the time, they end what they're saying with "I'm sorry." read more

I love the selection of organic all-natural foods here. Plus the cashiers are always wicked friendly. It's expensive and Target is just off yonder on the other side of the lot, but this Albertsons is never crowded. Plus parking is much less of a scary event on this side of Desert Ridge. read more

Coming from the east coast, I didn't realize the prices at Albertsons was considered more expensive than the average Phoenix grocery store. I thought it was a bargain! I loved coming here every few days to shop. It was like a mecca of discounted items (compared to the east). But I do agree they need to stock up on a better selection of wine, meats, and even dairy products (a written request for Fage greek yogurt went unnoticed). Also, I think their wine guy is lacking in his vino knowledge. He was obviously flustered when I asked for recommendations. He seriously has no clue about wines. read more

The new manager Stacy is the worst person I've ever met. I was talking to one of the employees up front asking where I could find something and Stacy came up and told me I was distracting the employee and had to move. I found what I was looking for and paid. While leaving I said thank yiu to the employee that helped me then realized my shoe was untied. I began tying my shoe when Stacy came up behind me and began to harass me telling me I was keeping everyone from doing their jobs. I in general hate Albertson stores. they are dirty and smell bad and are just old. BUT they have great sales and 10 for 10$ deals. This location is pretty clean but poorly organized. I actually really like this Albertson's- it's the nicest one I've been in. It is big and their selection has improved with the addition of an organic / natural foods section (wish I could get my Ian's Frys there if you read this Albertsons!). Their prices do seem a bit higher to me than some of the other area stores, but I am guessing it is due to being located in a large high end shopping center. The service has always been good. There is a guy at the butcher counter that has been there since they opened who is as friendly and helpful as can be (wish I knew his name, sorry). Also, I ordered my son's birthday cake from this location a week ago and it was great! They had a huge selection of photo cakes and well know character designs. I got one made of cupcakes covered with a Lightning McQueen design and it was a big hit! Great store, good selection, big, clean, well lit and nice employees. Makes it worth the price. read more

The White Bread store, that's what Albertson's is. If you want plain, uninspiring food choices that are overpriced shop here. Safeway, Fry's or Basha's are all much better choices, but then again Albertson's has a lock on the Desert Ridge area. No other choices unless you want to drive six miles. read more

First time visitor to this location. My wife sent me in looking for some non-mayo based pasta salad which they had behind a huge deli counter at the front of the store. They also had a great selection of prepared fruit salads, deli sandwiches, and other grab and go snacks. Since it was Kentucky Derby Day they even had a cooler at the front with small sandwiches and packages of mint to make your own Mint Julips at home. I did not venture through the rest of the store but the first few sections I did see were very impressive. read more

I can't tell you how badly I dread going in this store. The staff is rude, the layout is horrible. And try asking if you can use the Safeway app... OR saying "didn't Safeway buy you?" I have innocently said that to see if I could use my Safeway app and gotten my head bitten off. "WE BOUGHT THEM! " OR "we're two entirely different stores". All I have to say, I've never been to a grocery store and not found something I needed! This ALbertson's doesn't have guacamole! I asked 3 people, none of which walked me to the area as many other grocery stores do, but they all said "oh did you look in the deli department?" I obviously looked or I wouldn't be asking you. I am just baffled by my guacamole search at this store, I can't even get over it! This Albertson's is located in a major grocery intersection which includes Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Fry's. Located next to a Petsmart, Staples, Hallmark, and Walgreens. Opens at 6am and closes at midnight. Clean, friendly, great deals. Good assortment of organic/natural food. I just wish I lived nearby! read more

DO NOT GO THERE! They are in the middle of an entire STORE RESET for the next 2 weeks while customers are trying to shop. Employees told me they have received constant complaints. These are ALWAYS DONE AFTER the stores close so customers have: 1. STOCKED SHELVES-most were in the midst of being dismantled for the reset based on the new planogram. SHELVES WERE EMPTY MAINLY IN THE H&B Sections moving west. 2. Customers complained-MANAGERS TOOK NO ACTION! No problem solving skills even attempted. 3. Tile cleaning machine was going down the aisles (incredibly noisy) as customers tried to shop. I gave up and went to FRYS to finish my 2 week long list. 4. I worked for Colgate Palmolive for 15 years and we NEVER DID A STORE RESET UNTIL AFTER STORE WAS CLOSED. Mngrs. could care less this was occurring while customers were shopping. 5. Shop ANYWHERE ELSE YOU PREFER FOR THE NEXT 2 Weeks-nightmare and unbelievable poor customer service from stores mngr ( Rich Jawaski from my store receipt). The person bagging my groceries put three containers or cut watermelon stacked in one bag, single bagged. Usually they do two per bag. The watermelon of course came open and spilled, pouring watermelon juice all over my brand new week old car. Now everything is sticky and I'll need to get it detailed. Hats off to Robert Flynn. Hope I got his name right The other day I went in for a memorial candle not knowing where they were. I asked Robert who was adding items to a shelf where they would be. He walked me to the shelf only to find an empty shelf. As I started to leave I must have shown my disappointment and as I walked out he asked if I had a minute as he would go check in the back as he thought they had a delivery from this supplier recently. As you can guess a few minutes later he returned with a new box of candles to put on the shelf. All this for a $1.39 item. He for sure saved me a lot of time and effort from continued shopping. This store is always clean. There is an adorable senior citizen that hands out samples in the produce section. He is so sweet and loves kids. The sushi is decent being that it's pre-made. Very convenient that there is a Starbucks inside the store. During football season you get discounts if you wear a Cardinals jersey on sundays. read more

Albertsons Desert Ridge is pretty big. It has a sushi bar, deli, Starbucks, pharmacy, a seperate dept for money services and get this, a buffalo wing section! Oh and an olive bar, too! Can't leave out the olives! Their produce is kind of expensive, so I tend to stay away from that dept. My FAVORITE is the fish department! The prices on the salmon, ahi and shrimp are very reasonable. The workers in that department are always so nice and I love the fact they always ask if I'd like to select a specific cut! If you're staying at the JW Marriott, it's easy walking distance from the hotel for supplies for your stay, of both a food and beverage nature. The separated liquor store has a decent selection of beer and wine, but it would have been nice to see a few higher quality Magnums of wine. read more

Been playing their monopoly game for months now, since we didn't win we tried to register online just as a last ditch effort, and for fun. Not only would the website not take our info, it continued to insist that we re-register, and continue to put in a security code. Now I have been inundated with so much spam in my inbox. Albertsons is my closest grocery store. I am going back to Fry's for all of my grocery needs. I have a Fry's card and I have never had this much spam- Frys lives up to their word. They don't sell your information. Albertsons doesnt offer a store card but they get your information out of you through store promotions and they sell it. read more

A cart wrangler in the parking lot saw a bag of glass bottles fall off my cart as I was heading to my car. He immediately walked over and offered to run inside and replace the items. Which he did. Fantastic customer service and I will be a loyal customer for years. read more

Horrible experience yesterday. They are doing their monopoly program right now. I honestly avoid Albertsons aside from this season, because I think it is overpriced, but they have good deals during monopoly. We went in last night with Monopoly coupons and got 3 items free along with our other groceries. The guy rang us up, and then panicked when we gave him the 3 coupons. In previous years, you just scan the coupons. The system would typically tell the cashier if the item was wrong. This guy didn't even try to scan them and proceeded to take ALL of our items out of the bags and told us "next time give us these coupons in the beginning because you've made it very difficult". As the line behind us was growing and he was making us increasingly more uncomfortable, he figured out we got the right items for the coupons (duh). I'll be taking our business to the Albertsons on Cave Creek and Union Hills now. When you can't even keep business when you have a promotion going, you've got a serious issue with your store. read more

By far my favorite grocery store in the Valley! Its always (and I mean always) super clean, organized and well stocked. The staff go above and beyond to help you find anything and are always extremely friendly. Its a bit on the pricier side but well worth it. They also have an awesome liquor selection tucked away at the back, complete with a walker beer cooler area. read more

We live in Indiana, but visit as often as we can. We always go to this grocery store first thing when we get into town. It is always so clean, and every employee we saw said hello. They carry just about every brand you can imagine. In Indiana, the stores only carry about 3 brands, and you have to bag your own groceries. It is nice to have the checkout person do that, and I always get caught bagging my groceries because I forget :) read more

Overall I like this Albertsons, mostly because of its proximity but also because they have a separate entrance for the liquor...I know, it sounds like I'm binge drinking, but on the contrary, I simply find it convenient to quickly roll in and out when you need to pick up a quick bottle of wine for a party-and the selection of spirits is abundant. read more

I was just shopping at the Desert Ridge Albertsons. I bought multiple items which included alcohol. The cashier asked for my ID (I'm 45 years old) and stated that I looked young and that I was not wearing a wedding ring so he needed to card me! I have no problem with being carded, but I was absolutely appalled that the cashier told me that it was, at least in part, because I didn't have a wedding ring on!!! I asked the cashier what marital status had to do with purchasing alcohol at Albertsons and was not given an explanation. I am not looking to get any one person in any trouble; but, I feel this store needs to do some employee training! read more
