This is my 2nd experience with this Pharmacy; both due to wisdom teeth surgery performed nearby. The 1st experience was terrible and after a SOLID hour (pre-covid) I took the hard-copy of my child's prescription and took it to one closer to home.
Times have changed. Due to the vaccine mandate MANY local Pharmacies are NOW CLOSED due to lack of staff and the ones that are left are being given 1-star reviews. As a result this is one of the few Pharmacies left OPEN FOR BUSINESS in the immediate area and on this holiday.... I was LUCKY to have a pharmacy open to fill my child's post-surgery prescription.
Fast forward... F* e-script. ALWAYS ask for a hard copy instead. The current e-script module goes through a 3rd party on the East Coast and has to pass multiple steps prior to be received from the Dr.... to the Pharmacy (could be 40 mins, could be 4 hours for receipt). Fresh out of surgery and need a pain med on the way home? *get a hard copy and be prepared to wait - but waiting on people, not computers*
Claudette was especially helpful and understanding. Although EXTREMELY short-staffed and visibly under increasing stress due to a heavy line, Claudette (Expert Pharmacy Technician) went above and beyond to try to get the hard copy entered and submitted to insurance (e-script wasn't showing up even after 30 minutes after Dr. submitted). There was a problem with the e-script process not being received in a timely manner, a problem with my child's name not being able to be verified on the insurance database, problems reaching the insurance company on a holiday for assistance/clarification, one issue after another.....
Meanwhile, there was a line forming behind me (prescription drop-off) and an even longer line forming for prescription pick-up. Some angry people yelling at the cashier/Pharmacist about the price after insurance, another person being verbally abusive regarding their covid-booster appointment and of course there was a screaming baby in line in desperate need of zofran (I learned later from the sleep deprived Mother - sadness)
I too was at my wits end with all of the barriers and opted to just pay f*ing cash for the prescription because my child was sitting in the car (post-surgery), 20 minutes from home and was starting to feel the REAL PAIN from having surgery.
I waited my turn in line, staff was aware of the billing issues and knew that I was being put in a bind and opted to pay cash *yikes*. The cashier went above and beyond and pulled something from behind the counter and scanned something and the cash price was significantly discounted *whew* I don't know how she did it, but I was grateful for the discounted result!
The staff here is working their azzes off, dealing with lots of abuse from the public on a daily basis and yet they still show up on a holiday and continue to do their best for US. Thank YOU Claudette, thank YOU Dr. Weber for not only showing up... but for also doing your best to help every single customer.
It's still a shit show, but at least the people who work here actually care and are helping our community one customer at a time. A little Kindness goes a long way *be kind* read more
