I have been going to West Main Pharmacy for 16 years. They used to be top rated in my opinion, but over the last 3 years they have steadily declined! Such as giving out wrong price information for prescription medicine. The last straw for me was when I had a prescription filled there for my rag doll cat for allergies. The first prescription and price was accurate, but towards the end of the year the doctor called in another round of refills. I received a call from West Main telling me that the price would be around $11,000 or so I said how can that be? He has been getting the same medicine there for a year. The gentleman I spoke with said he would get back to me, but a woman got back to me and told me that the first medication and amount was correct, but those following were incorrect. I said are you telling me my cat has been getting the wrong prescription medicine for the last year? she said yes. I told her I would call them back. I immediately called Siskiyou Veterinarian Hospital to find out if there would be complications. The doctor said no wonder the medicine wasn't working. I had blood work done on my sweet Mufasa his blood platelets were high and at a dangerous level I called the pharmacy back let them know the complications that arose from the wrong medications. I was distraught to say the least! Of course they only offered an apology which doesn't obviously take away the potential harm that was caused to my 8-year-old cat. There were other mistakes I was told by a worker there that apparently the pharmacist there was well over retirement age and supposedly retired after multiple incidences! I was dealing with a cancer scare shortly after and I needed medicine filled Five prescriptions to be exact. I did not plan on going back there I was looking for a new Pharmacy but I needed to get these five last medications filled. I got a text saying my prescriptions were ready so I went in to pick them up when low and behold only one of them was ready. I had to either wait for the remaining ones to be filled which the estimated wait time would be approximately 45 minutes or they may not get filled that day at all. I said why would you call or text that they were ready? she says that's just how it works and she kind of laughed under her breath I said none of this is funny I'm extremely tired I need this medication. She said well then you'll have to wait for it. I stood there for almost an hour others were waiting and were disgusted because they heard our conversation. I then asked to speak to the manager the woman pointed to herself. I said so you're the manager? Which is the woman who told me I can either wait or my medicine may not get filled. She was uncapped, heavy set with tight, tight then sweats on where some of her belly was hanging out I only mention this because not only was she rude and unprofessional for a management position, she was dressed Unbecoming! I asked to have the owner's name she gave me the first name and said that's all I feel comfortable giving you. I said well I can look for other means to get it. I left there feeling overwhelmed and saddened that I was treated so badly and I was a loyal customer for many years........... read more

There was a time when this was a professional pharmacy. Now, when they text you that your Rx is ready and you come by to pick it up they may tell you that it's not ready, but invite you to sit and wait while they fill it. Then because you don't have time to wait you leave and call the next day and ask them to please have it ready for the next day. When you show up they will tell you that it's still not ready and when you ask why it's not ready after all of this hassle you may get the "millennial stare." The person helping you may say "So.. do you want us to fill it while you wait?" No. I want to know why it isn't ready. I want some accountability. What happened? "Uhh.... I don't know, but do you want to wait while we fill it....?" 0 stars. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

West Main Pharmacy had made so many mistakes that after 6 months I quit using them and I made a formal announcement to them that I would be no longer using them. Here I am at least 3 months out and they continue put in to fill old prescriptions and so it blocked my new pharmacy with my insurance company. I don't know what else to do. I have continued to let them know that I am no longer using them. My doctors office has confirmed that they have not sent anything to them in months either, so west main just continues to fill prescriptions that they have not been asked to fill in the meantime I am spending time trying to let my insurance know that I don't want to use that pharmacy. Bottom line don't use them it's been a nightmare. read more

I really don't drive any more and I tired of having my husband driving over all the time for his and mine are a a mess . We loved it there but I can't take the no no contact issue with our needs . The gals that work there are all awesome. This is the fifth prescription. I have gotten with three different doctors that have faxed it in every time I go check to pick up my prescription. It's never ready. They never received it. If it was one doctor I could understand this is multiple doctors offices. I just don't understand it. I think it's something that somebody needs to take a look at. I have told several of the girls there and nothing has changed. Again I am sitting here at West Main Pharmacy I was told 30 minutes. I only have to pick up two pills and they just can't rush it. I have been coming here since I can't remember when but maybe in the early 90s and I just feel they really need to look at this issue and fix it. Absolutely horrible pharmacy, I went in to get a refill on my medication and was denied, I had been originally been given a 27 day supply and had ran out the day before and they tried telling me it was too early to pick it up even though 29 days had gone by . I then had to walk home and get the prescription bottle to show them that it was indeed a 27 day supply , they then went back and talked to the pharmacist and said I was indeed right but for some reason they didn't care to explain I still wasn't able to pick up my prescription and suggested I call my doctor. read more

It's sad when someone who has access to extremely private information is Completely unprofessional. We have been coming to West Main Pharmacy for a while now and, for the most part, the people behind the counter are pleasant and professional. Unfortunately, there is one person who is definitely neither. We were told that we could pay for all of my husband's prescriptions or just pay for the ones that were ready and that the last one would be ready in about 20 minutes. We told them that we would prefer to just pay for all of them now and pick up the last one when it was ready. When my husband went back to pick up the last one, he was told that it would not be ready until the following day. When I came back to pick it up, she claimed that she never said that and that they had not charged us for all of them. I understand that people make mistakes and misunderstandings happen but to lie to a customer and treat them badly to avoid taking responsibility is Extremely unprofessional. Although its a bit of a drive to pick up meds, I don't mind because of the service and there is never a long wait. Always experienced friendly staff and never had an issue in the 2 years we have been using them as our pharmacy. read more

I had to wait around due to some detail with a dentist's office, no fault of the pharmacy's, and everyone was so helpful and kind. The staff maintained good communication with me about the issue and worked hard to resolve it as quickly as they could. I admired their efficiency and friendliness with the other customers and I appreciated the patience and compassion they showed me and my teenager, who was whimpering in the waiting area. One of the guys at the windows who was helping us brought out some paper towels for my son, who had bled through his gauze pad, and reassured him. Then, when the very busy pharmacist came out to consult us about the medications, he honorably apologized for something that had nothing to do with him! Class act. I've been to many different pharmacies around Medford, Oregon. Let me tell you a great rule of thumb before my review--the bigger the corporation behind the pharmacy - the more headaches, paperwork, and time getting scripts takes. That said, what a refreshing change West Main is! In and out- so quick and easy! And the staff : they feel like family, (um, a GOOD family, ha) with caring and many of them even recognize me when I walk in the door. One pharmacist actually saw how ill /distressed I was and called my physician himself (unheard of at any other pharmacy I've been to!). I just cannot say enough good about this local pharmacy! I've been using west main pharmacy now for around 12 to 15 years.. I love the small hometown feel of the place. Diana and the rest of the crew are always super friendly and helpful if something is not right. I also love the fact I can walk in the door and they pull my order before I even say hello. That attention to detail and customer service makes it my go to pharmacy. There have been the occasional hiccup over the years as it happens and no one is perfect but if something isn't right they will work hard to make it right and or find a resolution. I moved to medford 2 years ago and the pharmacist in previous location suggested I go here. I like smaller pharmacies because you don't feel like a number. So, even though it's on the other side of town, I gladly drive there. The staff is helpful and remember me when I come in (even with a mask on). Having a good pharmacy is important if you get regular prescriptions. Also many big box pharmacies tend to mess up my insurance when I've had changes but when I have called this pharmacy they are really good about updating my info. read more

I transferred my numerous prescriptions for myself and my disabled husband. He has many, very important prescriptions, and a chain pharmacy we were using fell apart right in front of our eyes during Covid which meant I was constantly having to be at war trying to get his needs filled. It was exhausting so after a year I transferred to West Main. They answer the phone usually within one to two rings, unlike the chain which had kept me on hold for over 1.5 hrs. They immediately attend to my questions and help me resolve any issues. The staff is very friendly and helpful. On top of all that! They deliver with a minimal delivery fee! I was already at Thunderbird next door anyhow.. and I noticed that they have a new addition since the last time I made it over to this part of town.. a new... sign waver.. I have lived here since 1982. I've seen employees at West Main come and go. Diane and Gloria are still there; awesome people! Yes they do get busy but they will always find the answer to your question or problem. Phones work just fine; had no problem. They are very busy most of the time but that's a good thing, it means they have a lot of repeat customers. I would never go to a different pharmacy as I've seen issues at a few different ones as well. Let's just learn patience and be nice to these hard working nice people. read more

I started going here beginning in 2019 and was very happy with service. Always seemed to have my RX filled in a timely manner. Then after they hired new pharmacist I have been displeased. Then one day I went in to drop off my RX and he told me he wouldn't fill my two pain RX's. He said DEA was "cracking" down on them and he refused to my pain medicine which I've been on for years. Said he didn't want DEA thinking they were a narcotic pill factory. Poor excuse for a pharmacist to treat his customers that was especially since I've been getting RX's from them for a long time. The ladies who work at this pharmacy are super nice & helpful. However, the pharmacist who works on Saturday is the biggest jerk I've ever met. With hundreds of dollars of prescriptions sitting on the shelves waiting to be picked up by customers, this guy won't fill a prescription of mine (1 out of 4 mind you) because my insurance charges them back $92.00. So I asked him, you're a pharmacist yeah? Aren't you in the business of providing a service to PATIENTS? He said, and I quote, "No. I'm in the business of making money." Well, if I could possibly find a pharmacy that would fill this prescription, I would go there, but last month I called or went to all the pharmacies between MEDFORD & GRANTS PASS & couldn't find a pharmacy that had it in stock. One pharmacy told me the closest place that had it was Idaho, if I felt like taking a drive...Are you freakin kidding me???? I don't know how many other patients are being neglected because of this guys insane greed, but if I could possibly go somewhere else, I would. He doesn't deserve ANY of my business. And the girl at the front said they'don't call anyone', they only fax. They move as slow as possible. In over two years there has only been twice when things went smoothly. I have to call a week in advance to make sure they get my refills done correctly. But still they never get my order right. They usually lose my prescriptions. When they say that they will contact my Dr. for refill authorization they never do so I always have have to call my doctor to ask her to call in refill. then they lose the prescription or something else goes wrong. Terrible customer service. long waits, rude employees, and worst of all the prescription is never right the first time. A few times they've even given me the wrong meds or the wrong amount of pills. I prefer to support local businesses whenever possible, and was delighted to find West Main Pharmacy near my home. They were highly recommended by several friends and neighbors, and I was planning to be a customer for life. I've been a customer for about 2 years now, and am taking my business elsewhere based on my last 4 or 5 encounters with the staff there. The most recent problem I had was with a prescription refill, a compound. The compounding is done in Grants Pass now, so the turnaround is even longer than it used to be. I waited a week for the phone call they had promised when I could pick up my prescription, a week went by, and no phone call. I finally just went in to pick it up, as the last three times I'd requested a refill they hadn't called as promised when it was finished either. The girl at the counter said they'd faxed my doctor a refill request, and had not heard back, and said I should call the doctor myself. I said, "It would be nice if someone had taken two minutes to call me and tell me that a week ago.". She stared blankly at me and said they'd fax it again, and turned and walked off. I was NOT rude to her, but she WAS rude to me. When I called the doctor's office several hours later, they said they had not received either request. This is the sixth time this has happened to me in less than two years, and I don't appreciate their lack of communication or rudeness. After speaking with my doctor, she suggested that I get my compounds from a mail order company called Women's International. They called me two hours later to get my billing info, were courteous and professional, and said my prescription will be here in 2-3 days; even faster than West Main's turnaround of 3-5 business days when everything goes smoothly, and it never seems to for my prescriptions. If there is a problem with your prescription, don't expect West Main to let you know. I've been out of my prescription for several days now because of their lack of communication, and probably would be for much longer if I weren't taking my business elsewhere. I will not recommend West Main to anyone I know ever again. read more

Worst pharmacy I've ever been to. First time I had an order sent in for 2 medications, they said they only received a prescription for one and they said they had to special order the medication they did receive a prescription for. It wasn't anything special, just a topical antibiotic. They should have that on hand. Second time they yet again tell me that they haven't received any prescription for me, so again I had to have my doctor re-send the prescription. I go in today and yet again they tell me that they have to special order my medication, another topical antibiotic they should have on hand. Oh, and here's the kicker: they said it would take at least 9 business days to get it in. In total, I'll have waited 14 days to get basic medication. I will be switching my pharmacy to Walgreens right across the street because god forbid I actually need a prescription for a rarer medication to be filled. read more
