This evening I had the unfortunate opportunity to be discriminated against... I went to my local Albertsons to pick up formula for my twin daughters. When I was ready to check out, I noticed that only one lane was open. I got in the long line and after a couple minutes I saw others being checked out at "customer service" I looked up and saw a sign saying they accepted my form of payment. It was finally my turn and I said "3 enfamils please" and I passed her the slips. She turned to me and said "OH YOURE PAYING WITH WIC. You'll have to get back in line. I can't do that here" I said "okay that's fine but the line is twice as long now and I was behind that guy". She stayed silent and walked away. As I was making my way to the back of the line, I crossed a man to get to the other side . When I was right next to the man, Nancy said " I'll ring you up next sir." The guy faced me and said "you go ahead first" I replied with "Thank you I appreciate it". When I got to Nancy at register 4. She angrily said "I DIDNT CALL YOU I CALLED HIM!" The man quickly replied " I let her go in front of me. Nancy replied "no I called you" he said "I let her go ahead of me." Nancy finally rang me up. At this point I was full of tears. She didn't say anything to me . She went "ugh" as she was getting the bag. Without a word, she passed the check and I signed. She then asked " do you have a rewards card? Put your number if you even have one." At this point I felt awful about myself. I asked the cart attendant Chris if he could tell me who's in charge. He saw I was upset and asked what happened. I told him what went down and he was mad I was treated this way. It was obvious this lady did not want to help me due to the fact that I was paying with a WIC check. No woman should ever feel ashamed for their type of payment. She does not know I'm a single parent to twins, that I go to school full-time, a victim of domestic violence, and that I lost everything after my ex husband went to prison. read more

I've been a customer of this store for the past 3 years. So this review is based on just that and my opinion only. PROS: - The quality of the products is outstanding. If you buy produce or meats, it won't smell rancid in a day or two like the less expensive competitive stores. - Cleanliness! The store is immaculate 99% of the time. I've never found spills or foul odors at this store during any of my visits. - Customer Service: Out of the hundreds of visits at this store, I can honestly say I've only had one or two bad experiences with the employees at this store. But over 90% of the time, every employee has been kind, courteous and treated me like it mattered I was at their store. In my opinion, Albertson's is one of the last few stores where they will open more check-out stands when there are more than a few people in a line. Of course, if there is a high volume of customers, you're only going to have a certain amount of working employees before you run out of them. I've read some reviews here that say otherwise, but then again, in today's world sometimes expectations are sometimes unrealistic. But regardless, they have their own perceptions as well as I do. - Environment: This store seems to be very well managed and kept up to date. Nothing is ever missing or dilapidated. CONS: - Price: Most Albertson's products cost more than other supermarkets (i.e. Vallarta) however, I'm a true believer that you get what you pay for. You're going to pay less for a burger at Arco AM/PM compared to In N Out Burger but the quality and service are night and day. - Deli: I've only visited the deli counter 3 times. The wait times were usually unreasonable (about 15 minutes with only 2 people ahead of me). The food was decent, but the consistent lack of speed from the employee during every visit made me not return to the deli counter. SIDE NOTE: During one of my visits, I made a mistake and left some money by accident at the store. I contacted one of the managers (Monica) and informed her of my issue. She took my information and looked into the matter. After a few days, I had my money again! I was impressed with the store's and her diligence as well as everyone's integrity. Are you kidding me ! After standing in the deli line for 20mins. The guy says we have no fried chicken. The whole chicken thing is full of chicken. But they need it for a big catering order. It's Saturday at 535pm. You think they would have enough chicken. But wait they have alot of chicken right in front of me. What The Hell is going in with this deli ! So after waiting 20mins in a line I can't have any of the friend chicken & im told it's going to be 15mins. Maybe you could sell the chicken already made to customers that have been in line for 20mins...and the chicken you are wanting us to wait for can be the catering order ! 1) if you have catering orders make enough chicken for a Saturday at dinner time 2) if you can't sell any of the 50 pieces of chicken you have made already put a sign up so people don't have to wait 20mins in line for nothing. Obviously the deli manager is not doing their job in this store. And this makes a customer never want to come back again to your store where they've been buying fried chicken and other items for 12 years. Very Sad ! You lost a 12yr customer now ! This store is nothing like it used to be even 3 months ago. They are dreadfully understaffed (I know they can pull people from other stores). I keep getting bad produce, lines are 7-9 cars long, cashier's are dumb (ignorant, undereducated) and rude. And nobody seems to ever be at Customer Service anymore. Bad experience again today so I'm switching stores. Maybe they'll just close this one. Or bring in new management before it's too late. read more

I went to Albertsons yesterday for my pre-BBQ grocery run. They were BUSY but everyone was so helpful in getting items stocked, organizing the checkout line to it flows well, helping people social distance. The outside parking area is always filled with trash. I no longer shop there. I have asked numerous times why the store never cleans up the parking lot - and why is there always so much trash outside the store. This is regarding the Sav-on Pharmacy inside this Albertson's. The pharmacy is severely understaffed. It is not uncommon for phone calls to be completely ignored. Nor is it uncommon to be put on hold for 10+ minutes, only to be disconnected (as just happened). read more

Used to be able to make a quick run into this store but not anymore -- not since they removed the self checkouts. Now it takes more than 10 minutes standing in line because there's usually just one checkout lane open. Their "3's a crowd" policy is a joke. If the employees would stop gathering around to gossip and complain about customers who asked for 50 monopoly pieces because it's their birthday, while in front of other customers, I'm sure the line/wait wouldn't be too long. And the prices are ridiculous. They charge more than three times the amount Walmart does for the exact same item. I will not be going here anymore. read more

While visiting Albertsons at 6am on Thanksgiving morning. My husband and I over heard and witnessed a very disturbing conversation between Brenda the manager and one of her employees who didn't want to give his name out of fear. It was horrible listening to her degrade this employee while snatching the racks out of his hands telling him what to do. After speaking to other employees at the store they stated this is her normal behavior when she is having a bad day and other employees have left the store crying due to her. The employee also stated they have reported Brenda's behavior to Albertsons and nothing has been done. We felt bad for the guy that Brenda was hollering at and demeaning. Much of the staff is very friendly and helpful except many of them make it clear how much they don't want to be helping you. One in particular, a woman who works here named Irene. Always smirks at me like I'm stupid for asking her questions she should know the answers too since, ya know, it's her job. I asked how much an item was and she laughed and said "I don't know" but she answered in a way that was like "why would I know". Anyway, I come here all the time and I'm not excited when I see her working the self checkout because your guys system sucks and I always have to wait way too long for her to make her way over to me. I've been coming to this Albertson's for nine years now! They have had so many changes with staff that it's ridiculous. My biggest issue with them is the return/exchange policy on the plants! An associate by the name Yolanda for the last three years has been giving me return/exchange on all my plants in the first 30 days if something happens to them so naturally trying to help out my local supermarket I took my best friend and another friend of mine who where visiting from LA into the same Albertson's to purchase plants and the plants that we were purchasing look like they had some rotting issues so we were willing to take the risk because we knew that there was the exchange/return policy so in the first 30 days! Well at least that's what we thought! When my best friend asked Yolanda about the exchange policy Yolanda got extremely rude with my friend and explain to her that there is no return exchange policy but that is something that she only does for me! I instantly was like what are you talking about there's no return exchange policy because I had not idea it was something you only do for me especially since before I started buying my plants from Yolanda I was by my plants from Debbie the floral manager and the floral manager Debbie had always honored return/exchange is with me the entire time I have been buying plants from this location for the full nine years of me living down the street from them stopping by every morning for my Starbucks coffee and just so happen to be picking up a plant as well after having conversation with Debbie! But ever since they hired Yolanda I never see Debbie no more and I won't lie Debbie was who originally had me coming and buying plants from them she had an amazing energy she knew everything about the plants and even when I would go and not looking to buy a plant daddy always manage to sell me a plant! But then they hired Yolanda and all of that changed. I in no way knew that that was something she did special for me! If I knew that for some reason Albertson's does not have a return or exchange policy I would not of been spending so much money for the last nine years buying plants from this place! I would never have suggested my friends to come to this place and purchase plants especially if I knew that there was no return/exchange policy and especially if I knew that they were going to be treated in the manner that they were treated in! The manner of how we were spoken to by Yolanda was just so unprofessional and I'm not sure if maybe she was having a bad day because it really caught me off guard because I've been coming here for nine years and I have never had any experience like that at this location. I sent Debbie the manager of floral a text message explaining the situation and she did not respond at all and completely disregarded my message and decided to bring it up to me two days later when I went into Albertson's to purchase my morning Starbucks. For me I was a bit disappointed by that because Debbie and I have had a close relationship for the last 9yrs I thought but I guess what it really came down to is that I was just another customer to Debbie being extremely friendly and extremely nice helped her sell me plants but when it came down to me reaching out to her because a colleague of hers disrespected me and my friend at that time she had the opportunity to show me that I wasn't just another customer that she valued me as a person and instead of showing that she valued me as a person and the relationship that her and I had she discard the message waited two days to clean things up and both of my friends plants have completely died my plant completely died and of course Debbie in now way offered any kinda of apology or exchange or any type of return. It just came off like Debbie was making excuses for Yolanda and I didn't care for it at all! read more

Horrible experience today at the bakery. The older short Hispanic lady named Sandra who barely knew English was so rude and didn't want to help me. After I explained to her I was just there a few hours ago and filling what an actual baker told me to do.. she still denied helping me so I had her call the store manager and before I could speak with her the older lady pulled her aside and spoke Spanish to her so I wouldn't be able to understand. That is the rudest shit you could do as a store associate! Then the reason they denied my service was due to "copyright" they couldn't even explain what copyright was to me and got mad and told me to come back tomorrow to talk to an actual baker. This is a nice Albertsons on the west side of Palmdale. I like it because it is on the outskirts of town. Its standard for an Albertson's. I have never had any problems here before. I do prefer Trader Joes in general over Albertsons, but I don't like all the traffic in front of the Palmdale Trader Joes in comparison to this Albertsons. read more

My 77 year old grandmother was approached in the parking lot by what appeared to be a homeless man asking her for money. She did not give him any and went into the store to do her shopping. When she came out her car had been vandalized, windshield wiper completed torn off and back one was bent down. Estimated damages are $1,000. She went inside to speak with the manager and made a police report. ALBERTSONS is not doing anything to solve the issue, they do not protect the people who shop at their store or care about their safety. They must have a duty to get rid of violent panhandlers on their property. She is an older women and will never go back. They claim their cameras do not face the parking lot so they will not even try to pull up tapes. This store is horrible!! In the past month alone, we have lost over $100 in food purchasing food that has been expired for a month or more. Not items with a best by date, items with expires on dates. The employees are rude and the managers are worse. We had an incident the other day and a manager standing maybe five feet away didn't even come over to see what the issue was. Employees walking by never ask if they can help or even say 'excuse me' when they come down the aisles with the brooms that take up the entire width of the aisle. We have gone back multiple times hoping that things will get better, but they only get worse. We will not be going back again. read more

Although this store is 5 mi from where I live, and there are two other stores I can visit on the way to this Albertson, I really enjoy going there because of the Meat Department. The staff in the meat department is great and they are always patient with me when I'm trying to figure out what meat I want to purchase. The Bakery dept is also great and friendly. As far as the Cashier's and Customer service, I do think they are okay but maybe they need to be more patient with some of their customers. Maybe they are overworked and underpaid. read more
