Inside is airy and the aisles are clean, and shelves are well stocked. I went straight to the produce section, got what I needed. And walked the aisle to see what else I can find. Dishonesty - Food 4 Less (Palmdale) I placed an order for 50 pieces of fried chicken on Friday via telephone for pickup on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. When I arrived, I was told that no order had been prepared. Just as I was being told this, an employee walked into the deli and asked us to wait 30 minutes. When I asked why the order wasn't ready, she said she had gone on her lunch break and "forgot to tell" someone to prepare it. I had guests waiting at home, so I told her I'd return later. When I came back about 40 minutes later, my order was finally ready. I asked if they could offer a discount for the inconvenience, but the employee told me, "If you had paid before, I would have given you a discount. I don't normally take phone orders." That was never mentioned when I placed the order. Had I been told, I would have gladly paid ahead of time. She said there was nothing she could do, so I asked to speak to a manager. She stepped away, made a call, and returned saying she could offer me eight pieces off (which she claimed equaled about $28). I accepted--however, when I checked my receipt, the total was exactly the same as before. At that point, I didn't argue because I had guests waiting, but it was clear I had been misled. I've shopped at this location before and previously had good service, which is why I chose to order from them again. Unfortunately, this experience showed a complete lack of professionalism, honesty, and accountability. I won't be returning, and I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

For the last three or four days we've been dealing with the order that we placed here at the service deli for chicken both fried and baked we show up on the day our order was supposed to be picked up and there is no big chicken it's all fried I have gluten allergies so it was very in particular that this order came through for us when we had a party to attend of several people we spent $100 for the service deli and the manager came and pretty much didn't even apologize Compton's a $20 gift card and that was it So if you do try to do business here make sure that they don't mess up your order because they don't seem to care what a sad situation Albertsons would have never did this to us. read more

The store has decent although not great prices but it's not a place to go to for quality. What I really liked about this store was that it was the only store in Palmdale open till midnight but now they close at 11:00 every night! Why? Does keeping 2 employees for another hour really make a difference when the revenue you're loosing by not staying open for 1 extra hour has to be in the tens of thousands a week! Go back to midnight! This place used to be 24/7 and having the same hours as the place next door that is cleaner and better quality makes deciding where to shop pretty easy and it's not here! read more

One of thee worst Food4less in SoCal. If you go after 8pm they only have 1 cashier available. The store seems under staffed daily. After moving back in the are I have experienced multiple Food4less including Jefferson and Western store. Even until closing they have more than enough cashiers in "Los Angeles ". I have asked this stores Mgr about the long waits & under staffing & he said to call corporate. The "QueVision" were all other stores calculate how long a customer waits is inaccurate. Even more crazy they only sale family size chicken so a bachelor is out of luck ya gotta buy enough chicken for 5 kids. Plan ahead! read more

Shoppers please be aware. I shopped at this market on Monday Aug. 7, 2023. I spent $106.95 on my groceries. 3 days later I randomly checked my bank debit card purchases. Wow, Food for less had charged me another $106.83. The difference of 12 cents, I'm guessing the 12 cents was for me or my bank not to catch the double charge. I contacted Kroger the mother company of Food for Less and they stated that I would need to contact this particular market and discuss it with them. Shoppers, check your bank any time you use your debit card when shopping at Food for Less at the Ave S Palmdale location. It is possible that other food for less stores are practicing this over charge theft. We are told to not carry cash and use a card instead and when we do that the market that we trust steels from us. read more

I've always shopped here even with my parents When I was younger and it's nice to see that they have people like them working here. Food 4 Less doesn't need her help to rip customer off...this is the second time she over charged me. First time, I bought 2 lbs of rice @ 50c per pound..she charged me $9 for the rice...I didn't see it until I was already at home. Another gentleman a latin guy did the same thing. Today I purchased 5 plaintains @ 50c each. She charged me for 9. When I pointed it out to a rep just before exiting...he and I both walked back to speak with Ashley J. She didn't even ask to see the items...she immediately refunded me the overage - SHE KNEW SHE HAD OVER CHARGED ME. WATCH HER....check your receipt or better yet...stand at the counter why these cashiers are checking your items and correct them BEFORE you leave the store!!! Lazy workers Possible CCP virus exposure at this location. on 18th/19th late about 30min before closing I went there to do shopping some guy sneezed twice, once with the mask then he took it off and a second time just a few feet from me Its been a week and now i'm sick.. with a light fever, pink eye, dry cough, very congested I notified a checkout clerk they did NOT start cleaning up the area immediately i'm not even sure they cleaned up the aisle where the frozen food is at (the one inbetween the beer and ice cream ) he sneezed all over the doors at lest 3-4 of them. read more

Ordered from the deli, sub and chicken . My husband went to pick up chicken wasn't done he needed to wait 30 minutes for them to start it. I ordered 24hrs in advance! Called the store spoke to Jason , he went to figure out the problem and got me a solution- thank you Jason! I was a security guard for this location for quite a while. I met some great customers and coworkers here. Carrie is a very fair boss; I know her to be intelligent and exceptionally articulate. One star off because other people exist. Anyone who thinks the alarm beeps because you're black, it's because of many reasons. One employee of Food 4 Less has metal implanted into his skin, so it often beeps for him. Otherwise, it may beep at random sometimes. At the Valley Central Way location in Lancaster, one time the scanner started beeping for no reason for over 30 minutes. The workers, are nice, but one of the managers lacks customer service. The prices are good, but the selection is sometimes lacking. Customer service, attitudes, and culture run from the top down. Several times I've been shopping here, their dozen eggs are out of stock along with a number of other items I come to look for. It's an ongoing thing. I think they can do better with inventory. I also notice that their milk is almost always expired or soon to expire; at least the lowfat carton milks. Just yesterday, I was about to take a caramel apple home for my 4 year old, and noticed there were flies all around them AND crawling inside them. NOT sanitary!
