830am No fresh ground beef to choose from in meat section so I asked the butcher if I can get some from her, she told me no, she was busy putting other stuff into the display case. I asked her, "Really you won't help me?" she said no. WOW so I had to choose from day old(or worse) browning meat that was on clearance. The people who work in produce are very lazy. They never stack the shelves with all the advertised items. I've even talked to them about stocking celery, and after doing it while I wait they aske me how many I want, rather than just keep the shelves stocked. And they have promised to keep their shelves stocked. They will do it for a week or two then stop again. They have an extremely lazy produce department. Go to the local Ralphs or Vons instead. They seem to be able to keep fruits and vegetables out. read more

This is my closest grocery store, so I am pretty much there all of the time. The staff here is always friendly and helpful, and mindful of when the lines start to get too long. They have two Redbox machines, so I order online and am in and out in a snap. My one gripe about Albertson's is their decision to ape the other chains who give the 30% discounts on wine if you buy a six pack. In reality, they just dumped their usual sale prices, jacked them up substantially, and force you to buy in bulk. Thanks but no. Now their single bottle prices are on par with liquor store prices, and simply not worth it. Special trips to Costco, Total Wine, or Bevmo are a better deal. read more

I've been getting my daughters cakes made at albertsons bakery in westminster for the last 4 years. The baker has always used my decorations and the cakes are not only beautiful but super yummy. We decided to have our other daughters 1st bday cake made at this location since it was closer to where we were having the party. I came in, placed the order on a Sunday and met the baker. I explained what I wanted and showed her pictures. She said she would make it, I just needed to go buy all the decorations myself. The following tuesday I drove back to the store after work and dropped off $40 in decorations. The lady that was working that night spoke little english and was struggling to understand I was droppong off stuff for a cake I already ordered, not trying to order a new cake. The next day I called and spoke to the baker on the phone and confirmed she got the bag of decorations. We spoke about what I wanted and she seemed to understand and even said she was looking forward to decorating the cake, cupcakes, and her smash cake. That Saturday I showed up to get the cake and stuff only to find not much was done and all were nearly bare. I asked where all the decorations I brought were and she brought me the bag. Nothing was even opened. The theme was twinkle twinkle little star in light pink and gold. I bought metallic spray in pink and gold, pink and gold eddible glitter dust, pink and gold candy stars (2 bags each ), pink and gold round candy balls (2 bags each) and pink and gold eddible sparkle gel pens. The only thing she opened was one bag of gold stars which she only used half the bag. I got furious and asked to speak to the baker and the same lady that hardly spoke english rolled her eyes. I grabbed the cupcakes and loaded them, came back to get the cakes only to find them talking shit about me. The baker then stated "I thought you were using the decorations for somethimg else so I didnt bother". I literally looked at her, shook my head and asked her why the hell would I drive all the way here from Tustin after work and drop all that stuff off. She just stood there looking at me then told me not to forget to pay at the register. As I was paying I asked for a manager and showed him the bag of unopened decorations and the cake. He looked shocked and told me not to pay for any of it. The lady checking me out said the baker is new and has already had other complaints. I wouldn't recommend this baker and will never use this bakery ever again! Also not only were the cucakes not decorated but they weren't filled. read more

Overpriced, horribly long lines. Just about every grocery store in a five mile radius is better than this place

I frequently shop here as it's close to where I live. While I do appreciate the fact that the store is pretty clean, has what I need.. when I need.. I was absolutely mortified by the night shift manager/cashier on Duty. His name is David. -2 stars for this reason - I will provide as accurately as I can describe -- context: I was in the self-checkout lane and noticed the discount pricing changed on these 12oz fruit cups. It was labeled in the produce as 2 for $4 for mix-and-match fruits from 7-12 oz. Ok, so I picked out 10 total.. different varieties of 12oz fruit cups. Apparently the discount did not apply to grape cups and apple cups (found this out while I was checking out). Again note, the ad says "FRUITS" in there. As I was scanning barcodes on the self-checkout lanes, I noticed the discount wasn't getting triggered, and I attempted to void the whole transaction to cancel and go back to the produce and return the fruits. Here comes the cashier who can authorize my void request. He looks at me in the face and yells: "Why would you do that?!" Of course, I was shocked and everyone around us was staring at me. I calmly responded: "I don't know, I noticed it wasn't calculating correctly and I'll just go back and return this..." He completely ignored and me and went back to his register. I needed more help but he just took my fruit away and didn't return it to me. Long story short: David, night shift manager, avoid this guy. I made it a point to really seek out his name before I left. It's a good thing they have to wear name tags for this very reason. David is very rude and will embarrass you in front of everyone else for making an honest and simple mistake. He'll probably read this and deny this story but other customers were there to witness this. I've always had a positive experience shopping here but until this day, I'll always remember this moody and rude man who'll always haunt me whenever I do night shopping. This review is for the Lake Forest Store on Muirlands. Went yesterday to buy scallops, they looked old. Saw Grouper and decided to buy since you don't see it much. To digress, the whole meat dept. smelled bad. Asked to buy a pound of grouper, at $22 a lb. the butcher cut me that much. Driving home my car smelled bad. I started dinner, making a tomato sauce, rice etc. when opening the fish it stunk so bad, like decaying rotted flesh. My husband's worked on fishing boats, he looked and smelled and said it's bad. Took back to Albertsons following day, when I walked in the cashier immediately knew I was returning fish. Got the manager, he never even apologized for ruining my dinner. Just acted like it happens all the time, said he has a new fish guy who should know when fish not good and smells, here's your $$, I'm going make sure they're not still selling. Not the first time has a problem with them. Last time got 6 oysters, 3 were bad. The management apparently feels they should hang on to fish until it's stinking. Won't shop here again. read more

This is the first non-Hawaii grocery store where I registered for a shopper card because I always seemed to get something from an Albertson's when traveling in Las Vegas. Definite downhill slide of store especially lately. 3's a crowd is a joke, the last few times I have been there, 2 check stands open with lines weaving down the isles for 10 minutes. I mentioned this to a checker today, her response was "we opened another lane" - tone deaf. Plus they do sell expired (yes) and near expired dairy - look closely at Knudsen no fat sour cream, I saw it expired by months, mentioned it to the guy stocking one day, he laughed. Plus they have NOTHING in selection compared to other stores like Ralphs, so much so, I can't even begin a list. I happened to be in the area so I'd thought I would stop by to pick up a few things. A guy named David who works behind the hot foods department was so rude and sarcastic. Even before he got to me, I noticed the tonality of his voice n attitudes toward the customers before me, I was so surprised that he got away with talking to customers like that. Well, I can say that from the look of how runned down this Albertsons location is, and from the low ratings n comments from unhappy customers, it probably won't be around for much longer. Especially with Ralphs and other grocery stores around, they can't survive long term with the bad services and products at their store. I went in here at 6:30am and couldn't believe how dark it was and how most of the aisles were dimly lite.It's like the manager is trying to save electricity and that is only acceptable if they invest in green style bulbs/lighting.Not having the lights lite half power or whatever they are doing. Also the prices for yogurt have gone up to $4.19 for a single 32oz serving when they were once $3.50 for the same 32oz bottle.I asked the manager why the same product in Tustin is $3.00?She replied "Oh we just raised prices today."For one that statement is false because the yogurt was on sale(in her store) for $3.99 and it is normally $4.19 according to the display.So if anything the price had gone down that day.You'd think the manager would know when her products were on sale.Second she said that all Albertsons were the same and the price in Tustin was probably raised too.I call BS on that because why would a store raise prices on a Wednesday?Not only that,but her answers reminded me of someone who doesn't care about their customers and her tone only confirmed that in my mind. I really wanted to like this location and the other employees(like the gentleman who gave me back my dollar) are good people,but the manager is a joke.Cutting back lighting in the store and overcharging on merchandise that is a dollar cheaper in other stores apart of the chain is pretty weak.She thinks that because they are located in a rich area (Lake Forest) you can overcharge people and they won't notice.Well the economy sucks and when I do want to spoil myself I only want to buy a good product at a good price.She is a penny pincher plain and simple. If you are ever in need of Kiefer Yogurt and want a good deal in Lake Forest check out the Walmart on Irvine Center Dr and the I-5.They have it for $2.79 and $3.00 dollar for other rare flavors like Peach,Raspberry,Strawberry and Strawberry Banana.I continue to shop at the Albertsons in Tustin because it is the same price as Walmart and I like to support local business.I probably won't be coming back to this location if I can help it.My next adventure is to check out the Walmart in Foothill Ranch and see if they carry this lovely Eastern European yogurt. read more

I would give this store 5 stars if it wasnt for david..me and wife have been going to this store for years..spent thousands of dollars and have never had any problems..sherry and the sarah have been great to us .almost like family..twice we have dealt with dave and twice he has been totally outta line..not sure if his trying to be racist but that is not enough to make us loose our patience..david if u read this there was once a homeless there inside ur store that we helped out..guess what?? On my way to have a quick lunch hour visiting an elderly friend, I stopped into this Albertson's to pick-up something from the bakery ... but as I kept looking and looking, it wasn't readily available. Melinda from behind the counter asked me what I wanted and, when I told her, she quickly went to work to make up a perfect "fruit tart" for 2. It was perfect, and delicious (my friend and I really enjoyed it), and I want to express my gratitude to Melinda for outstanding customer service. I shop at Albertsons on Muirlands and Ridge Route because they have my favorite Breyer's pint size light ice cream which is only 3 or 4 Weight Watchers points. But its the produce department that brings me back time and time again. The produce is beautifully displayed, the best prices in the neighborhood and very fresh. I shop around 6 to 7 p.m. during the week nights on my way home from work, and there is never a line. The prices are the best. read more

This is by far the worst Albertsons out of the seven I have shopped in Orange County. It is the oldest and dirtiest. I only go here because it is on the way to work. The worst thing about this store is that many dairy and refrigerated food products have expired or are about to expire. Yogurts about to expire are a common problem. It is also common to find Pillsbury refrigerated dough products expired by one or two months. You literally have to check the expiration date on everything you buy. Even some of the mayo and salad dressings here, which have a shelf life of months, are on the verge of expiring. The meat and seafood area smells. So many frozen foods have ice build up on them. I have been overcharged four or five times in the last few months. On June 5, 2019, I bought five Innovasian rice bowls with a Just4U coupon. They were supposed to be $1.99 each, with unlimited quantities. I was charged $4.29 for all five, or $11.50 too much. When I complained on line, I was told I bought the wrong variety, even though the General Tso's chicken rice bowl was the only variety sold in the store and my Ibotta rebate worked fine. The last straw was buying frozen dinners on June 7, 2019. I forgot to check the expiration date before I bought them because they had no ice build up. When I got home, I found they expired in two weeks, on June 21, 2019. Since most frozen dinners have a shelf life of twelve months, they probably were unsold for 11 months. I still have my receipts to prove this. read more

not my favorite albersons but its the closest one from my place. its quite small compare to the one in irvine blvd. the freezer section is very dark and look very dull. the frozen treat section didnt look so appetizing and it seems like its been sitting there for months. employees are not so nice and accommodating here. i prefer ralph but albersons does have a very good deal/sale from time to time. read more

Twice I picked up a ready-made salad from the deli and it was so old and gross I couldn't eat it! I called customer service the second time and the girl was really rude to me, but the store manager called and was apologetic, saying they would implement stricter monitoring of freshness. Then a week or so later I went back and got another salad -- which was also bad! The store on the whole is good; helpful associates, things easy to find, just don't buy anything from the deli!! read more

I come here often due to location and find the store adequate. The manager is very nice and timely, however one particular cashier is talkative and not always the most pleasant unless you are one of her 'regulars'. I purposely try to avoid her. read more
