#rawchicken I use to recommend this store for the chicken wings. I went there a few weeks ago on a Sunday , the light was dim over the deli. Which made the area look dirty and unkept(mistake #1)The staff appears to be new with no personality. I asked for 3lbs of wings. There was five sitting out. The young man acted like the didn't want to go get the cook to make the 3lbs of wings. When he did, he went into the freezer and out comes this older gentleman- that walked extremely slow. I didn't see him wash his hands, but I continued with the order(mistake # 2). I was told to come back in 15 minutes. I went to my car to get cash to buy Girl Scout cookies(less than 5-7 minutes). When I came back the cashier had put the wings out for purchase. He bagged my chicken and off I went. When I got home (maybe 15 minutes away), I opened the bag and saw that some of the wings were stuck together-when I broke them apart, they were raw on one side. I tried to call the store Sunday and Monday,but was left on hold for several minutes. I will NEVER go back. read more

Juanita the manager is so rude, I was working at the Albertsons for a week and she was already treating me like shit, I honestly saw her as a nice and sweet lady but it turns out she was the opposite (basically she was just a hypocrite) , she was just mad because I couldn't work for her the day before. Very good selection BUT you cannot get anyone to answer the phone. You hear hold music, then the phone rings off the hook. Eventually, you get the same answer "thank you for calling your friendly . . . " so you've LOST your place in line! Very frustrating. Easier just to drive over and look for the item yourself. read more

Albertsons has been my go to spot for over 4 years. Great customer service and employees. I go there for meats, seafood and groceries. Never had a problem with shopping here. Prices are reasonable, but sometimes you find better deals elsewhere and that is normal with supermarkets and retail. read more

I'd give negative stars if were possible. I've lived all over LA and this Albertsons is by far the worst. Customer service is lacking BIG TIME. There is usually only 1 line open and the express lines will be open but seriously there needs to be more people at the registers checking you out. Otherwise you'll be waiting a while. The restroom is DISGUSTING. It stinks just walking up to the bathroom. I've found flies in the bread case. I wanted a bolillo and found a smashed fly in the case. When I looked around to find someone to tell about this I had to wait around a bit because it seems the employees like to hide. So that's not just a customer service issue but an issue with food safety. The employees are absolutely rude & disrespectful. I called for the pharmacy numerous times and no one wanted to simply transfer my call! I no longer want to pick up my prescriptions here either. The pharmacy is doing a great job but having to set foot in this disgusting Albertsons is a step I prefer not to take anymore or any other Albertsons again. read more

This is my first visit to this Albertsons. Parking for this location is awesome because the parking lot is huge and shred with other stores. The store itself is pretty huge as well. Clean and organized. Now when it comes to selection and flavors, well that's the reason for the four star rating. My husband and I drove 8 close to nine miles looking for certain items that we were sure they should have but was very disappointed. He was looking for some rum raisan hagan daz. They didn't have that nor any fried onions. What I did appreciate though is how a cashier named Bernie took my husband's request. He told a fellow employee how many miles my husband drive in search of the rum raisan ice cream and had her go look for it. Although she searched in the supply room only to find that they didn't have it, I appreciated Bernie's customer service. read more

I just left this place and realized something is really wrong with this store now. For more than a decade, this was my go-to for Asian and southern style foods. This store may not have had most ample selection but it's the most convenient traveling from my house. Today I noticed that the Asian food aisle wasn't as large as it had been in the past. However, the southern food section was pretty much gone. To make matters worse, the sign was moved closer to the south side of the store but there was nothing except for a few boxes of Zatarains. Now, I get it...as a long-time resident of the south bay area, cultural shifts are common and very real. My issue is that everyone needs resources that represent their culture and not just one group. While the Asian store across the street is nice, it's also crowded. Although a couple of real Cajun items could be found in different parts of the store, this was not like having the Louisiana or Tony Cachere brands. Not even the condiments or Caribbean foods like before. The old Hawthorne store kept a decent supply that was easy to find until they became a Superior supermarket. During my short visit today, I saw a diverse group of shoppers. While I enjoy some Hispanic/Latino cuisine, I think that if catering to a mix of cultures worked in the past, why take a chance on missing out on profits? Management should look into who really shops here instead of following trends. read more

This Albertson's is massive with ample parking space. It's in the same complex as Chipotle, Fantastic Sam's, Hong Kong Express, Starbucks, Yogurtland, and soon to be, Flame Broiler. It's across from Marukai. It has easy access. I like the wide aisles and copious selections. The staff members are helpful. read more

This Albertsons is super clean. I suppose it's cuz it is one of the newer markets. They seem to be up-to-date with their products. Making sure to put expiring products on sale so they can bring in newer items. Learned this recently from my experience with another Albertsons in LB. I like to shop here early in the morning when they bring out the freshly baked breads. You can smell them come right out of the oven!! It's not crowded in the morning, especially on the weekends. They have a RedBox machine here and Chase bank branch inside. I think it's very convenient to have them in the market. I use them all the time. I don't remember the last time I went to my main bank branch. They also have a nice row of magazines to look through before or after shopping for groceries. =) Easy parking. The manager is very nice and he always says thank you for shopping with us. They constantly clean the baskets so I guess those our new positions created for people. I disagree with Mike L. They actually have a pretty decent selection of items here, and it's kind of become my one stop shop on the way home off the freeway. Because it has both an 'ethnic food' aisle, and also a pharmacy/household items area, I can get almost everything I need for my home to function here. The long lines are only at the most PEAK times, and even then, I usually don't have to wait very long. I try to do the self-checkout too when I can (but don't get in line behind the Asian lady with 75 items in her basket checking herself out). They always offer to help me out, and ALWAYS ask if I found everything I needed. You gotta have good management to ROUTINELY get your staff to do that, and they do. Plus, they have the same teenage kids working there day after day...if the place sucked, do you think the under-21 staff turnover would be so low? I think not. read more

Once again the management ar this store let me down again, 1 person in the deli trying to do 3 jobs, the shift last night left the made salads out overnight, he has to cook the fried chicken, help customers with their deli orders and clean up the mess left behind last night. This morning lady in the motorized shopping cart, tried to steal groceries with out paying, when caught she blamed the employee for picking on black customers he told her that wasn't it,the manager or whoever's was in charge came over, the lady told him to shut his employee up,and he told his employee to shut up,first you dont talk to your employee like that and he should have called the police for her stealing,how does this market continue to employ sub par managers,obviously employees have no confidence in their manager to do even the LEAST of his duties but cant even back up his employees especially when they caught this lady stealing, there are plenty of good people working there, I shop there every week ,it won't be the high prices that will drive me away it will be the lousy management now I know why you get 2 1/2 stars on your market. read more

This location is great. They have really pretty fruit plates and a large selection of pastrys. I went late at night because I was getting things for my Moms Birthday the next morning and in the parking lot on my way out to the car I dropped one of the boxes of pastrys I had just bought! They had locked the door behind me because I was literally the last customer of the night. I was so worried I would get ignored out there if I knocked because I knew they were closed. But as soon as the super nice security lady saw me sad holding the destroyed pastry box, she knew right away what happened and let me grab another box real quick. She seriously saved my moms Birthday morning celebration and I am grateful. read more

Since the remodel this Albertsons is now one of the worst around. People lining up all over the place with just a couple of staff working the checkouts. The self service had all lights flashing for assistance with no one around to help! Other staff would walk by pretending nothing is wrong and ignoring requests for help. What a joke! Close this dump down and replace it with a decent supermarket that cares. I only went in as my daughter was getting her nails done. Next time I will sit in the car and shop elsewhere. read more

I usually go to Ralph's because it's close to me but their produce is terrible. So I came to Albertsons during my lunch break, hoping to make it my new go-to market. I picked up veggies for dinner and a cute little 3 pack of sliders with deli meat and Hawaiian bread. I'm starving so I start eating in the car and I noticed a little bug in the sandwich. I'm disgusted obviously. Thank god for the In-N-Out in the same parking lot. It was some kind of gnat. Looked a little bigger gnat. So gross! The check-out lines at this Albertsons have remained absurdly slow for months because of inefficiencies and understaffing. 1. They've removed self check-out lanes, which means there are lines even during the off-hours because there's only a single cashier available. 2. Now that the single-use bags are banned, the cashiers are more careful to put as much product as possible into fewer bags. This takes up extra time yet there aren't enough baggers to go around. 3. Their debit card reader is atrocious. It takes forever to approve, and there's a step where it's "waiting for cashier response" which also wastes time since the cashier is almost always distracted. 4. When customers ask for liquor from the locked cabinets, instead of having someone deliver it to the check-out, it's often the cashier who walks out themselves to get it. I often stop by the plaza where this Albertsons is located to grab food/drinks from the various fast food joints. But I still go shop at the Ralphs on Redondo Beach because the lines here are so terrible. read more

So they have now (half-heartedly) joined the chicken sandwich game, and if what I had today is what the corporate standard is set to be they should probably promptly exit stage left. First of all it's batch-made just like all their other deli products. Not that I expected any better, but the price certainly is not much cheaper than the freshly made ones. Second is there supposed to be no sauce? Like did the test kitchen staff seriously think "this sandwich is a-ok without any sauce whatsoever we'll send 'em out exactly the way it is"? Third why is the chicken so dry? It tastes suspicious like their also disastrous chicken tender I'm beginning to suspect they were made with the exact same recipe. Compounded with the no-sauce issue I had serious trouble swallowing my bites, and by middle of the sandwich I was not looking forward to the next bite, which RARELY happens when I'm eating. Yes I even look forward to the next piece of their insanely salty fried chicken that I often enjoy, somehow. My standards really are that low. In other news, the bread is pretty good, and the pickles, when I managed to find one, are fine. If they keep it to the promotional price that they have now, and add maybe a slab of mayo to each sandwich, and, maybe, maybe, use dark meat instead, maybe then it'll be an adequate player in the game. read more

Albertsons recently changed their floor plan at the Gardena store on Western and Artesia. They removed the center space that used to split the long aisles so now the aisles extend from the front end of the store to the back wall. It was far more convenient to have the aisles split. Also, they made the shelves taller and much harder for older and shorter people to reach such things as the coffee filters on the top shelf. They also put the liquor near the entrance where the bread used to be. It also seems like the aisles are narrower as well. This used to be my favorite store. Now, I am very unhappy about these changes and won't be shopping there anymore. read more

This store has a great assortment of gluten-free items, which I appreciate, but they always have massive lines throughout the store because they don't seem to want to open more than 3 registers. Right now there are 3 registers open and about 6 people standing at each one. The GF items keep me loyal to this store on that level only, but for every other non-GF item I go somewhere else. I use to like coming to this store, but things have changed a lot. I needed some cherry tomatoes and when I looked at their selection each container was full of what appeared as small fruit flies. Not just a few, but a great many both in the containers and flying around the packages. I've purchased a couple bags of potatoes in the past just to find several bad in the bag when I got home. Then after that I have to stand in a long line as only one register is open. When I'm done paying the clerk looks at me and wants me to hurry and pack my own groceries in bags. The clerk then started pushing the next guests items into mine. Why are they not packing the groceries or why isn't there another to assist with this. Not like that would be a problem being that ONLY 1 register was open....and this is not the first time either that I've had to pack the groceries and have a clerk give me a dirty look like I'm taking too long. I'm just going to do my future shopping Ralph's and Sprouts from now on. At least they still treat guests with respect. read more

This Albertsons location has been my go-to for supermarket fried chicken for years. I don't live close by anymore, but every time I'm in the area I stop by. The two times that I've gone this month have been absolutely terrible. Both times I got the 8-piece for $7.99. The first time someone else picked it up for me, and when I opened it up, I only got 6 pieces (no drumsticks). You're supposed to get 2 breasts, 2 thighs, 2 wings & 2 drumsticks. Today, I got 4 drumsticks, 1 wing and 3 thighs. This mix of pieces problem is obviously a service issue, and I hope that they realize that this guy working there is in the wrong role and move him. The chicken itself wasn't as good either (maybe that same guy is now cooking it too?). I will definitely have to find a new place to get my chicken fix. read more

I'm a regular and will still go but this is the 2nd time the same woman with the glasses was unnecessarily rude. I just wanted to know if they are bringing out more fried chicken and how long it would take. The other guy was helping another customer so I didn't want to butt in. This female deli worker happened to be walking out from the back, so I asked very politely and with a smile if they're bringing more chicken out. She said "they're cooking" in a short manner like I was bothering her then proceeded to wash her hands. Since she was washing her hands, I hesitated about asking but I was in a hurry so i asked if she knew how long. She replied in an even more impatient and rude manner, "can you give me a minute to check?" So i said, "of course, thank you." The whole time she was washing her hands She was shaking her head like I had asked her to bake me a cake right that moment. She finished after a minute then went back to the back and started talking to 2 other guys. I was standing there the whole time she talked to them and it became perfectly clear she was not gonna get back to me anytime soon so I just left. 99% of the employees at this Albertons have been helpful and friendly. This woman seems to be the lone exception as she has treated me rudely before too over a simple question. Seems like she hates being bothered. read more
