Bought hot wings and potato wedges from the deli. The wings were chewy and overcooked...probably from the day before. The potatoe wedges were also over cooked and hard to eat. Now that Rite Aid closed, and CVS is rather far away, there is a cesspool of rudeness left in Rancho San Diego called Albertsons SavOn Pharmacy. This (previously at Rite Aid) pharmacist is overriding doctors prescribed orders to a patient after eye surgery with a left eye requiring two weeks healing before being able to drive around trying to find a pharmacy. What is going on with Albertsons' customer service? I've been a loyal Fresh Pass member, using their grocery delivery and pickup service faithfully since COVID. Last week, I suddenly get a message saying my perfectly good credit card can't be processed. So I try another perfectly good card -- same error. I call customer service. Their big solution? Try another card. I do. Declined again. I wait 24 hours, thinking maybe the system's just glitchy. Nope. Now my entire account is disabled. I call again. The rep, clearly reading from a script, tells me they can't access my account because it's being investigated. That's it. No timeline. No explanation. No help. It's been FIVE DAYS. Still the same canned response. No one can give me a straight answer. I've spoken to multiple reps -- including one based in India -- and they all say the same useless thing. So today, I canceled Fresh Pass. After years of loyalty, this is how I'm treated? Completely unacceptable. You lost a customer -- not because of a technical glitch, but because of an absolute failure in customer service. I'm beyond disappointed -- I'm furious. We shop at this Albertsons often. Inside and pick up. It's always clean looking fresh. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I believe it's because they follow the managers lead . He's always smiling, quick to help out and gives great communication and help to customers. I found another Superstar at Albertsons! I have been meaning to write this review but life got in the way. So, I finally have carved some time to do this review. This employee who goes by the name of Jayden is extremely knowledgeable about the whereabouts of product in the store, is super sweet, friendly, helpful, and very professional! Every time I shop here, he greets me with a genuine and warm smile and always asks how I am doing and also tells me to have a nice day when I leave the store. He purposely takes an interest in his customers and it obviously shows. He seems like he enjoys what he does because it comes across in his interactions with the customers. This Albertsons grocery store is not only stocked with great food but with great employees and plenty of Superstars! Jayden is a perfect and shining example of what it means to provide "Amazing Customer Service!" But since moving to Jamul and having to go to this one, I am no longer. They consistently have empty shelves--CONSISTENTLY! Worst Albertsons out there! I recently moved to the area it is the closest grocery store. HORRIBLE. Shelves are consistently empty. The produce is old, moldy, or just not there. I am appalled. On Wednesday--the first day of the new week--sale items are nowhere on the shelves. I can't get the Organics Greek yogurt because they only order 4 or so at a time. The non-dairy cream cheese shelf has been empty for weeks. They only carry ONE type of Vans waffles. They don't have coffee beans, just ground coffee. They don't have cauliflower crust pizza from the California Pizza Kitchen. They always run out of bread. The flour is FULL of bugs, and I have had to return it numerous times. Good luck getting organic produce. They run out of baby carrots, berried, apples are old and wrinkly, etc. The selection at this store is minimal. It's a huge store, but with little to no selection. I am shocked that the small Albertsons in El Cajon has WAY more selection and always has everything in stock. I could go on and on....this store is an embarrassment. read more

Good items on sale!!!! I like finding new drinks to try that a low calorie and handy for me to pack with my lunch. Friendly cashier and very clean inside. I like the local fruits and nuts section, they always have some goodies. Oh and the ice cream is always on sale for various brands!!!! The meats are fresh and they have a deli and meats counter where I like grab my fresh bacon!!!! Who doesn't love bacon ;) I now find myself coming here more frequent that S & F that's close to me because my foods, milk and produce seem to be better and fresher. This is my absolute favorite grocery store in the area. I have been coming here since we moved down the road, 7 years ago! Aside from a great selection, stocked-shelves (even through the pandemic), the employees really make this store my "third-place" (not Starbucks, lol). Alissa is the best manager. She keeps the employees and customers happy, the lines moving, parking lot clean, carts and baskets stocked, and she always has a smile on her face. Alissa goes above and beyond her duties as a manager; this location is, no doubt, the best in San Diego. Anthony is the most genuinely happy and cheerful person I have ever met. His line is always the longest because people are willing to wait just to have him be their checker. You can tell Anthony enjoys his job, and is loved by co-workers and customers, alike. The butcher is so friendly and skilled, the meat is always fresh, beautifully displayed and packed. The produce section is impeccably stocked and arranged. They have a great selection of organic produce, and the precut pineapple is always perfectly ripe! Everyone knows me by name, like Cheers. Stopping by this store always brightens my day, I don't want to shop any where else! read more

I came to this Albertsons location after seeing some awesome deals on the Albertsons app. This Albertsons is pretty big and has tons of stuff. Isles are fully stocked and have just about whatever you need. Produce section is 5 star quality. Fruit, vegetables, they're always great. I love the mango salsa and guacamole they have by the deli section. The lines are pretty long and unfortunately move very slow. I saw a lot of employees throughout the store and only 2 cashiers at the registers. I highly recommend downloading the app to checkout some weekly deals, I even get free items sometimes! read more

I live in Rancho San Diego and I have not been into Albertson's in a while. I went to pick up some baby back ribs they had on sale for 2.88lbs, not a bad price. However, as I roamed around the store, I quickly remembered why I have not been shopping here for such a while, the prices are quite high. What amazed me is that the items that were supposedly on sale, were the actual regular price at other stores. The store is very clean and organized. Tired the DriveUp and Go for the first time and it was not a good experience at all. I chose a time to pickup and arrived within the timeframe specified in the app and selected that I had arrived, in the app it mentioned it may take up to 5 minutes for someone to come out which was a reasonable timeframe, however I waited 15 minutes and no one came. I called the number provided and no one picked up, I waited an additional 10 minutes and no one came out still. So I went inside to ask and the front end manager mentioned the person that does this went home already for the day. Why would you allow people to schedule pickups if there is no one there to facilitate it? The manager brought a cart to us and I noticed there were items not pulled due to "out of stock" but shows available online (the meat items which were the main reason for the order). We had to take the groceries to our car which is not a problem, but we paid extra for the convenience of someone bringing the groceries to your car. read more

One star review based on my experience today. We were craving a roasted chicken for dinner and usually buy it from Smart and Finals 3 lbs for $6.99. However, when I went to S&F they were out of roasted chickens, so I decided to go to Albertsons. There chicken is very small, about one lbs, and they sell it for 7.99. Shocked by their lack of cleanliness related to the Covid 19 pandemic. At the Target next door, and the Ralphs across the street, they wipe down everything, the grocery conveyor belt and the credit card machine, between each customer. They do NOTHING at this Albertson's store. Not one thing between customers. I had to use and touch the credit card machine after many other customers had used it WITHOUT it being cleaned, and they also did not wipe down the grocery conveyor at all. I also saw them bringing in carts from the parking lot and not even wiping them down. They just put them back in the cart area for the next person to take without them being cleaned. At both the Target and Ralphs they wipe down EVERY cart. I was just very surprised by their lack of care on cleanliness and wiping the store down. I'll definitely be shopping at the Target and the Ralphs, and not the Albertsons. read more
