Very disappointed in their baking skills !! I've pre ordered a Minnie mouse themed cake for my daughter's birthday because I wasn't going to have time to bake it myself this year . As I picked up my order the cake looked nothing like the photo I gave them no Minnie mouse theme whatsoever ! And to top it off , the cake was completely dried !! No flavor at all ! I'm upset. I witnessed a manager yelling and mocking an employee. He started yelling at her, I didn't understand why but then she got upset with him and said she will not lift heavy boxes while pregnant. He mocked her because he obviously didn't think the boxes were heavy but she said she asked someone else for help and she is waiting for them. I don't understand why he couldn't have done it himself, or been understanding and patient with her. I asked another employee for his name and they said his name is Eric. And when I asked, they said a lot of employees have troubles with him. Dude needs to learn better management when it comes to employees. read more

It's nice that Albertson's has finally gotten rid of the homeless people who were using their parking lot. However, they have this very stupid and unnecessary cord across the entrance so you can only enter the store on that side and exit the opposite side. If you do self check, that means you have to walk all the way down to the official exit door to leave. This is totally inconvenient and involves a lot of unnecessary walking. Ralphs has never had a specific entrance on one side and exit on the other. They treat people as adults who know how to enter and exit their stores. Vons and Pavillions discontinued this stupid one entrance and one exit a long time ago. Albertson's should do the same. It's not like there are so many people entering the store that they have to be spaced apart. This is why I rarely shop there any more. read more

Albertsons is haveing a BBQ outside of the store every weekend till the end of summer two more weekends Saturday and Sunday ...great deals on the meat...a whole tri tip=$15. A full rack of ribs $10... half a chicken $3 u get two halfs for $5 ...tri tip samdwhiches for $5 bucks chips and a soda as well...the sandwhich's and the chicken our my fav and very delicious there not skimpy plates either...try it out and give them a break .... It's something they wanted to do for the costumers...BBQ time in suumer time ...what better way to eat lunch and dinner at home when its already seasoned and grilled for you... read more

So, I have a sick kid at home. All I needed was NyQuil and DayQuil. The store is busy and I understand that. So I decided to go to the pharmacy to make my purchase. One person in front of me at the register and I was next. There are three people behind the counter at the pharmacy and they see that the line to get the medicine is getting longer. Now I understand the late lady in front of me has five or six prescriptions to pick up and probably drop some off I get it. But.... The other two employees why am walking back-and-forth, and the other is on my computer, and sees that the line is getting longer yet again. He does not get up to assist at the second register. I call to get the attention but the line is getting bigger and he just looks at me. The lady at the register is assisting the elderly woman and she glanced up at me...nothing. No response. I waited for 10 minutes and kept glancing back at the regular registers to check out with your groceries. The lines are getting bigger over there and the self service check out line is getting longer. What the hell is wrong with these people. I'm not coming back to this Albertson's again! I went to CVS down the street and guess what in and out in less than three minutes. I'll make the trip down to CVS that will cost a little bit more money and gas money to get better service. Trashy attitude Zero customer service. I came to this store today May 26, 2020 (Store # 2543 address: 2400 West Commomwealth Ave., Alhambra CA 91803) to buy 4x 12 pack soda cuz I saw an advertising price of $2.77 each, at checkout the cashier didn't tell me purchase price was regular price $25.96 instead and I paid with my credit card without looking at the monitor. I found out my mistake by the time I've got to my car. I returned immediately and talked to one associate at the customer service about the price difference, and I was told they don't care telling customers how to get the discount. Then when I returned again with the soda. Another associate refused to give me my money back or the advertised price difference. Both associates were acting in somewhat rude and careless attitudes. I am very upset with Albertsons and will never make any more visit to this business in the future. read more

I waited in line for 5 minutes before someone finally came up to the register to help the elderly customer that was patiently waiting. I ended up putting my two items back and leaving after waiting in line for a while longer. It would have been great to use the self check out registers that were closed. read more

Horrible! The man who took over for the clerk who needed a break was sooo rude. I think his name is Mike. He has a tattoo of some kind of circle on his neck. The tattoo isn't the issue (I happen to like the art) the issue is his bad customer service. I placed my basket on the counter and waited for my tun. As my basket approached the front of line he flipped it over, all my food and groceries fell everywhere as he said, " you need to pull everything out of the basket just like the people with shopping carts" . If he would have said it before hand, I would have done it. I responded with " I'm sorry, I didn't know I was supposed too" and decided to just stay quiet. The store was busy and I wasn't looking to delay anyone's else's shopping experience. I just couldn't belive how rude this man was. My grapes, my sushi rolls were a mess and he just scanned everything through without a care in the world. Hundreds of people touch those counters daily and no one is cleaning after each customer passes by and he disregarded his actions. He wasn't even greeting people. He is a horrible representation of Albertsons. I've been shopping here for years, but going fwd I will never return. I myself am part of a major supply chain retailer so I understand busy stores, employees, customer situations... but this was just so out of line. I plan to tell everyone I know to never shop here again because of my experience with this one supervisor. I am a regular shopper at Alhambra Albertsons. I am also a former Albertsons employee. For 3 years, I've had few issues at this location. Today, for the second time, I had the same poor experience at the self check out with a middle aged latina employee who was covering that area. After putting down my basket next to the scanner and picking up a shopping bag to purchase, I was ordered in a very sharp and condescending tone to "scan the bag first", as if I was going to steal it. No employee at this location (so I know it's NOT a location policy) or any other grocery store in Los Angeles has done this to me. Anyone familiar with the self check out machines knows customers are asked how many bags they are purchasing at the END of the transaction. It still asks even if you scan the bag, which means if you do both because an employee has bullied you and you honestly answer the question at the end, you are charged TWICE. I scanned to appease her and then selected "no bags" on the machine at the end so that a second 10 cent charge would not be added, but I've worked in customer service long enough to know not everyone would have known to do that. I checked my receipt and confirmed I was charged once. Lady, it's 10 CENTS that does NOT come out of your paycheck and the majority of your customers are not out to cheat you out of the dime. Yes, I am sure there are plenty who find ways of getting around paying for grocery bags. Albertsons is fully aware shrinkage is part of the business. Excellent, friendly customer service has ALWAYS been the #1 most effective method of prevention. Alienating honest customers with rudeness and downright cheating the ones who are less than tech savvy into paying double is not an appropriate or ethical response. The first time, I chaulked it up to a bad day, but this is the second time she has acted the exact same way, which means every customer coming through self check out is treated that way when she is assigned to that area. Retrain her, or move her to another service area, please. This is absolutely unacceptable. read more

They advertise corn $1 for 4 on the weekly ad but everytime I go there they don't have any corn in stock. Why put it on sale if you can't keep them in stock. I thought the prepackaged corn were $1 they didn't have any price tag I asked one of the worker he had no clue they were on sale useless workers and when I ask the cashier he had no clue they were on sale. This has got to be the worst grocery store in all of Alhambra. The checkers suck, the customers are awful. The people that work there seem like they are miserable and have absolutely no sense of urgency. Every time that I have gone into this Albertson's they have only two or three checkout stands open on a busy Saturday. Are you F'ing kidding me? Then I stood in one line and my boyfriend stood in another line and while I was standing in the line, an older woman with like five kids took her cart and pushed me out of her way - it was nuts. So, I went back to the other line and it probably took the checker ten minutes to help three people with a small amount of items. The products are over priced and the place straight up sucks. Always clean, the food and produce is always fresh and the employees are very nice. Cheaper and better than Vons. The chicken dinner for $7.99 on Mondays are well worth it too. A whole rotesserie chicken, potato logs, your choice of potato salad, coleslaw or macaroni salad and a four pack of kings hawaiin rolls plus $1 off a 2 liter soda. i despise this place. for the past 10 or so years it has sucked. i have seen the checkers for years and they just seem to get more and more miserable each year. yep, they love to hide from you. most cannot bag. i hardly see the same baggers for more then a few months. if i had that job i would quit too. CONS: sickest restrooms, ALWAYS. the aisles are the most ridiculous addition ever to the newly remodeled place. those aisles go on for miles. they keep moving all their products around and to new locations -making it super difficult to remember where it's all located. is there such a thing as too much crap in a market?? this place is it. oh, lines are always terrible no matter if it is at 11pm or 11am. horrible parking lot. people drive really stupid or really fast and try to kill you. those stupid self-checkouts always mess up and making the process take longer than waiting in line. the place closes at 12am !! so i have to drive all the way on the other side of alhambra to the 24hr ralphs PROS: the closest supermarket in the area. uhh that's it. TIP: i had several friends work in the hot foods and bakery section. oh man, they will accidently drop food on the floor and will scoop it back up and return it to the shelf/sell area. so don't ever buy anything from those areas. just go to trader joes instead. better quality stuff at a lower price believe it or not. read more

I ordered a cake for a bridal shower while I was in Northern California and Mario over the phone took my order. When I picked up the cake the day after, I was very pleased to know that the bakery made it the way I wanted to. Lionel provided friendly service and had the words I wanted on the cake. This store isn't great. Every time I go in the lines for self checkout and the ones with cashiers are always long. Their food is more expensive and they don't have as great of deals as other markets. They also don't have the selection that other markets have. They do have a nice deli and the wing bar is convenient, but other than that, I'm not impressed. I also wonder if they have a clearance/day old bread area? I have yet to find one in this store. Wish they could offer more and better deals, have clearance, more variety, and shorter lines. P.S. I always have to search for a hand basket; they're never at either front entrance. read more

I had some really nice dude help me in deli " Selvin " he was really helpful and respectful toward my big family trying to order a big family pack he gave good recommendations and he even gave us samples. even though they had a lot of costumers, he made it quick and I didn't feel rushed at all. And for bakery my experience was pleasant just because the lady "Sierra " was really really nice and was really helpful when it came to placing an order for a cake, she as well gave me multiple recommendations. I love albertsons and because of these employees I will most definitely be coming back. They need a raise! read more

This is the worst STORE that I have ever been to in my 30 years of shopping. I stopped coming here more than 10 years ago because the staff was horrible. That hasn't changed a bit! I didn't see any familiar faces working there. So that brings me to believe that it's the management that's doing such a poor job of staffing and training their employees. I know of many Albertsons stores that have closed and I'm surprised this one remains open. This is the closest store to my house, but I will continue to go elsewhere until this store closes also. No more expired food that they refuse to take back unless you jump through several hoops. No more very poor customer service. No more rude, incompetent and inconsiderate employees. I started my review because someone was bashing Savon. I would give them a 4.5 stars if it wasn't for being in Albertsons post merger with Vons. The pharmacy staff is GREAT. Used this pharmacy for nearly 20 years and still a customer. Their computer system since merging with Vons is SLOW. Not the staff's fault if transactions take longer though. Usually plenty of personnel behind the counter. As I was writing the review I noticed my comments tended to get negative. I had to change my review from 4 stars down to 3 stars because of them. Overall, Albertsons is a conveniently located supermarket. I have shopped there for 20 years. The staff was always friendly and because I shop there every day, I knew them and they knew the "locals". I loved that "local market feel" from a large chain store. Not really the case in the last year or so. The regular checkers are mostly gone. The checkers now seem younger, not as friendly, and the turn around is more frequent or they rotate from other stores. Doesn't seem like the "local" store anymore. I left shopping at Albertsons when it seemed like they could never keep bags near the produce that I wanted to buy. I complained several times and now they do a much better job of locating produce bags. The meat department does look much better over the years. Kudos to them. Since the merger with Vons, my grocery bill has definitely gone up about $20 per visit. Fancy Feast cat food at Target and Petsmart is $.55-$.59 per can. Albertsons is $.80 with a sale price of $.75. PROFIT HOGS!!! A common sale price on coffee was $4.99 or $5.99 and now it seems like it is $7.99-9.99 (unless you do quantity discounts). More and more I find myself shopping at other retailers. read more

DELI!!!! ONCE AGAIN, I went IN-STORE to get the 8 pieces fried chicken. The chicken looked fresh enough, as if it had just come out of the fryer, but when I ordered, the service deli person served me the chicken that was under the freshly layed down fried chicken. When I told her I wanted the HOT top layer, she said in a broken accent, "It's all fresh". It was funny that she was engrossed in a conversation with a customer with whom she seemed well aquainted who spoke only Spanish prior to helping me, to whom she chose which pieces she served him, picking and choosing for him, tossing dried up pieces back in the bin and serving him HOT, PLUMP pieces! Needless to say, when I got home, ALL the pieces she served me were dried up and shrunken to the consistency of beef jerky. Boy, was my husband upset who was involved in the Patriots/Chargers game on TV and had to settle for dried up chicken. I paid $7.99 for dried-up, shrunken second rate Deli Chicken! I have told the Asian manager at the deli of this same complaint several times in the past, but all she says is "So sorry". This is the first time I have set my complaint to writing. This store is the closest supermarket to my home, so I do the majority of my shopping there. Generally, I'm satisfied with the conditions, prices and products, but sometimes not. For several months starting early last year, there was one entrance (west side) and one exit (east side). I have no idea what the rationale behind that practice was. And many customers ignored the "do not enter" at the east end. They still sanitize the carts at the west entrance (which is the one I've always used), but not particularly well. Too often, there are no sanitary wipes in the black container when I arrive. And the bottles of sanitizer that had been inside that entrance for more than a year were nowhere in sight this afternoon. I asked a staff member who was spraying the carts outside, and he said, "They took all of that away." Not to MY liking, and I wonder how other customers feel. They still won't pack your personal reusable bag, but yet they won't give us sanitizer??? IDK. Bristol Farms is owned by the same corporation, and there I'm always certain that the carts are clean because the staff keep the used ones in a different location until they've been cleaned. And they happily pack my items into my personal bags. When Albertsons remodeled a few months ago, many of the products migrated to new locations, and it was a big difficult to find some of them. But, if you shop there frequently, eventually you get used to where everything is. The store is kept clean, and the interior looks very nice now. There are pictures of early Alhambra above the dairy section. Nice touch. Unfortunately, the BofA location is long gone. There is a new bank - US Bank - in its place, but I am a very longtime BofA customer (my paternal grandparents date back to the time when Bank of America's predecessor, Bank of Italy, was established in San Francisco by A. P. Giannini in 1904, and my family always has been satisfied with BofA. I feel no reason to change. I AM happy that there's a Starbucks inside this Albertsons and that I earn points toward gas discounts at Chevron stations with every purchase. All in all, there's more to like than to dislike. read more

Albertsons have great deals, but their sales clerks specifically from this location need to be purged. My mom's friend told her that there's a really good deal on ribeye steaks, all you have to do is download the app to access the coupons digitally. Also, she told us that we can get an additional $10 off (or was it 10%?) with another coupon. As we were lining up to the register, the first sales clerk was impatient and overwhelmed as we were trying to navigate the app (I thought I can simply display it on my phone, but I found out later from my sister that you have to download each coupon individually), so he decided to help us out by scanning a paper coupon with one of the deals. We were confused as we were told there's an additional $10 off on our transaction, he dismissively direct us to customer service instead, who didn't help us at all and was saying how it takes a day for the app to work (false!). I guess we were causing a commotion because another employee stepped up and said and I quote, "I need to watch this!" This isnt a spectacle! Albertsons employees need to be trained on how to use their apps and in turn teach their customers how to use it. Maybe even some sort of customer service training 101. We ultimately got the first transaction reversed and was able to get the additional $10 off. This headache can be easily avoided, should we forgo the second deal, but it's the principle of the matter. read more
