Whats GOOD: I use to always eat here late at night a few years ago. Its a great place for late night meals after your tired from working a swing shift or you just left the bar (being honest). It's kinda cheaply price and it puts food in your system. Burritos are large and stuffed, hot sauce is free, tastes more authentic then Taco Bell and Del Taco. Whats BAD: It seems unless your senses have been deprived through a long day at work or numbed by alcohol this place falls short. The food doesn't taste fresh, it's more like eating yesterdays dinner re-warmed in the microwave with extra grease in all the wrong places. Overall: What the food lacks in taste and authenticity it makes up in quantity and convenience. Recommend: The 10 taquitos for under 10 dollars :) read more

The food was good, I always get the carne asada fries but a lot of times we end up with the fat of the meat. Other places serve this dish much better, but all in all they're still carne asada fries & I was fine with it. (they also give less than other albertos) Anyway, what I'm steamed about is the service here..I know it's a fast food restaurant but the people working here can be much more courteous than they are. They don't smile at you, they mostly just stare you down and they don't ask if you want sauce, or they say it in a mean or rude way. I don't know a lot of my dining experience is the service that adds that extra star, but in many cases, this place does not have great service. read more

Found myself driving around in South El Monte with my son yesterday noon. I remember going to Alberto's in El Monte ALOT for lunch when I used to work at Whittier more than 15 yrs ago... back then I thought their food was outstanding. Yesterday we stopped and had lunch there. We ordered a couple of carne asada burritos. Shoot! I was disappointed. The burritos barely had any flavor, the meat was on the dried side. So we went to go get food at this place and there was no way to get two different meats in a all meat burrito. It had to be only one meat selection. I have never heard of a place that is not able to charge you more to add extra meat in your burrito Zelma supposedly the manager couldn't even understand what I was trying to ask about the situation. Flavor-wise, the biggest downside was the strong sour taste, which unfortunately overpowered the overall experience. Even the sauce served on the side had the same sour profile, making it harder to fully enjoy the meal. Sadly, this wasn't the most pleasant burrito experience for us.

I always order to go so I can't tell you too much about the atmosphere or the interior, but it looks like a typical burger shop converted to a Mexican restaurant. This was one of the most convenient places to pick up tacos for me, but I only seldom visit due to their higher prices. I will probably be back again but not for a while at least... Lol
