Through the ad, other internet research, and dealing with salesguy John Storkamp, I was able to put together a long-distance deal on a creampuff of a coach with low mileage (from 2000 miles away). John went above the call of duty to video phone me and walk me through the coach step by step, point out any problems, send me photos of the problems, and then had all of the problems fixed once I put down a refundable deposit. He even had the coach A/C unit replaced and replaced one of the passenger side graphic swirl stickers, as well as having the generator serviced. Sounds crazy but my lovely bride & I flew a redeye to MN after making a solid (but refundable) deal from 2000 miles away. Saved about $13000 from inflated SoCal prices. John had the coach ready to rock upon our arrival. The deal was great, with no surprises. We then took a 4000 mile roadtrip home across 'MERICA around Independence Day, via Jellystone Nat'l Park, The Tetons, Jackson Hole, Cheyenne, Santa Fe, etc, with no problems. Several months have passed now with only routine issues. Just wanted to tip the hat to John & Pleasureland RV for the excellent transaction.

I called the guy (ended up being the owner's son) to tell him and he tried to tell me how to operate the climate control! I brought it back the next day and the owner and a technician looked at it for 5 minutes and then decided my vehicle was defective prior to me bringing it in to them. Other than no control over the climate control, I couldn't open the back hatch, an interior light would stay on, a tire pressure sensor came on, traction control warning light came on. The son was a complete jerk being condenscending and insulting to me and being sarcastic when I would ask him to explain to me in detail what needed to get done to resolve this problem. Same with the owner saying I was lying to them when I said nothing was wrong with my vehicle until they touched it. I lived with this for a week!! My windows would fog up!! I was either freezing or sweating from the system turning on an off whenever it did whatever it wanted. I could hear a clicking sound. I took it to my mechanic and he disconnected it and guess what? EVERYTHING was back to normal. My issue with Four Star is that they refused to think they messed it up. They said it was my fault. SEVERLY poor customer service. No one would listen to me. They took it out and I got all my money back. That was the absolute least thing they could do for me after this horrible experience with them.

The time it took to repair my truck was…read moreTERRIBLE (44 DAYS), their quote means nothing, it took 8 days to take the motor apart and provide me a quote of $38,500 for an overhaul. After I put $10K down, the very next day I was told I needed new camshafts which would be an additional $5500 even though they already spent 8 days taking the motor apart. Two weeks later I was told I need a new turbo & actuator adding another $7300, day 40 was told I needed a new air compressor. When it was time to pick up my truck I was told the total was $64k but Kaite was able to negotiate it down to $57k with the owner. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, I was consistently lied to about the completion date, had I known it was going to take that long I would have not lived in a hotel for 44 days, but instead went home. I felt stuck, most days the temperature was below 0 degrees and it is a small town with no Uber/Lyft to pop up at the shop daily. The mechanics at the shop do not know how to do an overhaul so my motor was shipped to their Willmar location without my consent extending the completion date. If I knew they were going to charge me more than quoted, I would have never put down the $10k and would have bought a new motor. I called their main shop in Sunburg to speak to the owner Dan, was told he would call me back and I never received a call from him. I was provided with Dan's email so I sent an email with a 2 page attachment that outlined the timeline of events and my experience with his Alexandria location, Dan never called me or returned my email.

I had Dans diesel do a out of frame complete overhaul, Dan said they were using genuine Cummins…read moreparts. 300,000 thousand miles later I've replaced cam shaft (aftermarket) blown head gasket (aftermarket) and now I'm having to replace rod and main bearings. None of the parts Dans diesel used were Genuine Cummins parts like he said they would be. Over priced too. Cost me @35,000 for the overhaul and they could never get it to run right. Low power issues they couldn"t find. They wanted to replace turbo and ECM. I had to tell them NO. ABSOLUTELY NO! Also when doing the overhaul they damaged air horn that was mounted outside the frame rails. When i really got a chance to look at the bill I found that the replacement cheap horn they put back on was charged to me and they charged me an hour of labor to install it! So their screw up cost me $200. My opinion is that they couldn't fix a sandwich. NEVER AGAIN would I take anything to DANS diesel
