    Fresh Fruit (Breakfast Buffet)

We dined at Albaca twice during our weekend stay at the Coronado Marriott, once for dessert where we redeemed our $15 resort credit on a delicious churro cheesecake and again for breakfast where we opted for the buffet for 2 included in our stay based on our Marriott Elite Status. Wait staff were super attentive and friendly, the restaurant had plenty of seating including low and high tops, bar seating, and patio seating all with views of the San Diego harbor. We enjoyed the large selection of food items at the breakfast buffet including fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, bacon, sausage, bread and bagels, cereal, juice shots, oatmeal, yogurt and even a waffle and omelette station! Don't forget to tip the omelette station attendant, they are working hard behind the counter customizing orders one after the other!

This a review pure on their weekend breakfast Buffett. I've had mixed experiences in other Marriott's but this is simply of the best breakfast buffets I've had in the SD area. While slightly pricey it is worth every penny IMHO. From the cooked to order custom omelets, breakfast burritos, waffles and my fav the smoked salmon station with capers and cream that you can customize. Oh yeaaaa

Stunning view! The servers are kind, helpful, and they're so attentive. The food is far from outstanding, especially for the price. The breakfast buffet will run you $100 for two guests - that's a lot for eggs, waffles, oatmeal , and breakfast meats. The omelette was good - but not $50 good. Avoid the burgers and tortilla soup....and perhaps avoid dinner all together. The quality is just lacking. Ambience is lovely and staff is welcoming. The avocado toast was tasty and I found it reasonably priced at $24. I was able to add sausage at no additional charge. We stayed at the hotels as elite members with Marriott so free breakfast was a perk. My review reflects what our bill was prior to the itemized discounts as members.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort while she had a conference at the resort. We found ourselves at ALBACA several times. ALBACA is considered to be the resort's signature restaurant blending fresh coastal cuisine with an inviting atmosphere. We enjoyed the food and drinks as well as the atmosphere to meet with colleagues or friends while staying at the resort. My wife and I joined my wife's colleagues for drinks outdoors while her colleagues even ate some food. The next day, my wife met with other colleagues there over happy hour, while I joined a long-time friend for some mid-afternoon snacks indoors (also happy hour). When we were at ALBACA for drinks the first night, I couldn't find a cocktail that appeared to be sweet and fruity with a vodka base. Challenge accepted by the bartender (Shea, I think). He created a concoction that was fruity (strawberry base), very tasty, and quite strong. As it was my only drink for the day, it probably made it for several drinks. I also ordered a Mexican chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream as an afternoon snack. It was delicious with only a slight kick to the brownie and ice cream through the chocolate sauce I could pour as I saw fit. ALBACA offers breakfast, lunch, or dinner and is surrounded by beautiful and memorable views including the iconic Coronado Bridge and the downtown San Diego skyline. They had indoor and outdoor dining with breakfast buffets indoors and outdoor fire pits depending on what time of the day. You can even reserve outdoor seating on the patio or general seating through Open Table. The dress code is casual. The service staff were great and tried to go above and beyond general expectations. They are open from 7 AM to 9:30 PM daily (breakfast from 7 AM to 11:30, lunch from 11:30 AM to 5 PM, dinner from 5 PM to 9:30 PM, and the bar open from 11 AM to 11 PM). Happy Hour is Sunday through Thursday from 3 PM to 6 PM. They have breakfast, all-day, happy hour, and bar menus. Any food and beverage credits for the hotel will work at ALBACA. Should we return to this hotel in the future, we will certainly be back at ALBACA again!

Sat down for a late lunch on the outdoor patio. The setting couldn't have been any more gorgeous...on the Bay with the city scape of San Diego behind us. Our server was so friendly too! My dining companion and I ordered virtually the same lunch: tomato bisque soup and the three tacos; mine steak and his chicken. The soup was AMAZING!! Delicious and it hit the spot. The tacos were quite tasty too...but the soup was the belle of the ball!

We came here for breakfast in the morning. It was so delicious and hot! Service was ok. We forgot our vouchers and the server kept asking us to go to our room to get it. I understand policy but honestly chill! My husband went to the front desk to get a voucher and they insisted that we should never forget our voucher. Like I get it but common! Anyway! Food was good! We will be eating breakfast here for the next couple of days!

Giving 5 stars for the excellent service we received from Sasha. She went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience and she succeeded. The ambiance was great - we sat outside with heaters going and live music which could be heard from inside. The views of the water were beautiful! It was a little busy because it was Valentine's Day but Sasha continued to check in and make sure we felt taken care of. The food was decent, not the best steak I've had, but I feel that the kitchen may have been performing under pressure due to the Valentine's Day rush. All in all we had a great experience.

I was lucky to have breakfast included with my stay. The restaurant is really nice and has both inside and outside dining. The service was excellent and super friendly. Everything I had was excellent and the food always came out fast.

This restaurant is inside a hotel, but it doesn't feel stuffy at all. There's indoor seating, but since the weather was nice, we went with outdoor seating, and that was definitely the move. The vibes were really nice, especially with the view overlooking the dock and the Coronado Bridge. Super relaxing!! Service was great. Our server, Emma, was really friendly and checked in on us consistently. The host was also very welcoming and smiley, which sets the tone right away. We ordered the carne asada and beer battered fish tacos. The food was okay. It wasn't bad, just not the highlight. The fish tacos weren't as crispy as I expected and was a little bland but the carne asada tacos were better. Overall though, I'd still recommend this spot for the aesthetic, views, and overall vibe.

Stayed at the Marriott and had brunch here. Big mistake. Buffet food was terrible. Omelette was watered down. Not really enough egg and was literally watered down. The waffle too thick too sweet not good. Service was subpar. The older woman seemed to barely be able to walk let alone be waitressing tables. She was nice enough though. The ambiance was ok. Nice view. I wouldn't waste my money on this place at all. Walk along the boardwalk for much better options!

Loved sitting outside here. The view is spectacular. The staff are nice and friendly. They accommodate it us to get a bit of sun but had the umbrella closed by to cover us enough. We came for lunch ordered ahi tuna bowl for me and buffalo chicken sandwich. We ate it all.

GREAT VIEWS, MEH FOOD (2.5 stars) Resident restaurant inside the Coronado Marriott Hotel Resort and Spa. - FOOD: meh - PRICE: hotel pricing - SERVICE: good - AMBIANCE: beautiful! I honestly LIKE hanging out at Hotel restaurants. Yea, pricy but foods usually good and the crowd/vibe/ambiance is different. I was expecting my experience to be liked only to fall in disappointment. We came here after playing on the courts at the Wellness Center to eat, drink, and socialize. It was so convenient as the tables were already reserved for us upon arrival and it was a short walk over from wellness center to the restaurant. After playing round robin/ladders and climbing up to the 2nd top court (very last game we won which if played one more game would have been playing on top court!!!) I was ready to eat, drink, and socialize. :: ORDER :: DATIKI ($17) - cutwater tiki rum, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, angostura butters. This was served in a martini glass and it was tasty "tiki" kind of drink. However wish it was served in a tall glass instead of a martini class as I didn't feel it was martini like in anyway and felt I got a short hand on the portion to price. MARGARITA FLATBREAD ($18) - San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil, herb oil. This was disappointing flat bread. I ate one piece and packed the rest to go to not be wasteful and try to repurpose it at home. It wasn't that good. The out edge crust was fine but the rest of the flat bread was flimsy. The flatbread had so much cheese it weighted down the slices, the tomatoes were not very ripe - along with the tomato sauce it was overall more acidic than I like, and the among of fresh basil was more of one crushed leaf garnishing the meal. I wanted a lot more fresh basil. Next time I will try something else but will stay away from the flat bread. No I don't recommend it. :: SERVICE :: It was good. Fast and organized. But we all had separate checks.. meaning whatever we order is our own. I asked for napkins because I was give nothing (no napkins, no utensils) but my plate of food. Server kept pushing me if I wanted plates for everyone... we all have separate checks (meaning no we ain't sharing amongst each other). One flat bread isn't going to serve 3 large tables of people. Yet he continued to bring out more utensils and plates. Nobody used the plates to share as everyone had their own or knew if they didn't order it they ain't eating it. We asked for separate checks for a reason. I asked for napkins and utensils for myself for a reason.

GET THE OCTOPUS!!! Maybe the best octopus I've ever had. It was so good I ordered it all 3 times I was here lol. You must try it!! And it's only $17 which is a really good price for prepared octopus! And for breakfast I had the benedicts which were also tasty! The fruit cup I swapped for was also good. They have lovely seating both inside and outside. It's an unexpected hidden gem of a restaurant, highly recommend!
