There were 4 adults in a 31k Minnie Winnie. Over the 2 weeks we drove 1750 miles and boon-docked 6 of the 14 nights and we had zero problems. Took 1000's of photos and have just as many memories. We arrived after hours, but they can arrange for you to stay in your camper over night. At first I was very disappointed because our original flight got in at noon and we could hit the road. But the airline changed our schedule. But, checking in like that gave us time to review everything. So really it worked out great as we could get all unpacked and situated before we hit the road. And make sure we know how to operate everything. Returning was just easy. Pull in, unpack, go over everything. Wait for the shuttle (it was barely anything for us) and off you go. We talked to many people on our trip that also used GAH and everyone loved them. And people also that bought from them. Everyone gave them rave reviews.

Besides being a great pilot, he told us all about the glacier and surrounding area. During the landings he walked around with us and explained everything. He even showed us what wild berries to eat and of course we tried them. The last landing on the ice itself was an out of this world experience. We spent almost two weeks touring Alaska and this was by far the highlight of the trip. I highly recommend this tour to anyone going to Alaska.

We had the bad luck to book at the same time as some folks from a cruise ship, and they didn't want to walk anywhere, spend time outdoors - they even made us skip lunch and come back early because of their cruise timeline. I lost the keys to the van on a hike about 2 hours out of town and was stuck outside during winter and when I called for help she had a preplanned solution to it that helped me get back in quickly. It was my first time driving on icy roads and I did cause some damage to the van, which was worrying because I was afraid of telling the owner directly about this, but she was incredibly professional about it, reassuring, and helpful solving it. To make matters worse, in a fit of exhaustion upon returning the vehicle, I locked the only set of keys in the van. She was unbelievably patient despite a whole comedy of errors on my behalf. Worth every penny, but 900 dollars is a lotta moolah to come up with. What's nice is they do have some off the rack Parkys, most of what they sell is custom made. You specify your size, fur type and lining and you'll end up with a perfect fitting, cozy piece of Alaskan art. If you've never seen a parky, it's a bit of genius. Most winter parkas are just too darn short and your butt gets cold. Parkys are fab because they are a jacket with cute little skirt attached which 1- looks cute and 2- keeps your tookas toasty. They're adorned with ribbon and fur in just the right places to be both feminine and functional. Ladies, on those cold winter nights you can be warm and still look like a lady- I give you the Parky! They have information on different places all over the state and interesting displays on Alaskan things like the northern lights, midnight sun and other things. For those with a national park passport, you can get a passport stamp here for the APLC and the one for Lake Clark NP. My mom and I went to Seavey's last night for dinner and the show. We had a wonderful time. The…read morecrowd for dinner (at 6 p.m.) was smallish and allowed for a lot of chatting with the mushers (guys, and presumably gals, who lead the teams of dogs). They had a nice slide show that, despite a few typos, was really informative and interesting. The slide show led to some good questions to ask the mushers. Plus, dinner was good. I mean, have you ever had a buffet dinner with a bunch of tourists that was good? It wasn't only good, it was delicious. They served a baby herb salad (fresh as can be), grilled chicken (I didn't try that), amazing garlic mashed potatoes, slow-cooked perfectly spiced NY Strip roast, and entirely decent rolls. Dessert was NY cheesecake with fresh strawberries. After dinner we walked through the kennel area, petting the dogs and snuggling a new litter of puppies. The mushers were super-friendly and helped everyone take nice photos with the dogs (eg getting them sit, stay, and to look at the camera). We made our way to covered bleacher seating for the "rodeo"/sleddog demonstration. The demonstration had some little stories thrown in that were cute and entertaining. We were able to see and learn about the different positions the dogs can take -- lead dogs, wheel dogs, where you put the dogs that aren't quite so clever, etc. We saw one of the wheel dogs pull 800 lbs, and a team of 16 dogs pull an entire pick-up truck put in neutral. We had a really nice evening with Dallas Seavey, the other mushers, and their dogs. I'd recommend their show without reservation.
