Glacier watering hole is open! Ahhh
Susan M.

Who doesn't want to try mushing at an Iditarod camp?! So fun. Trudy was on time and so friendly, sharing stories and her charger for the drive to the lodge. Greeted by a couple moose and checked in, fitted with boots and off the meet Conner our fab helicopter pilot. The team of dogs and our Mush captain, Seth the pirate (it was "Halloween") at the camp were fun, knowledgeable and ready to mush. Perfect! We all got to try it out for those that wanted to. Capped it off with the hike on Knik glacier to create a very memorable experience.

If I could leave more stars, I would. Truly an incredible experience from the hospitality at check in to take off and touch down. If you're in Alaska don't miss this opportunity! We did the helicopter tour with glacier landing and had the helicopter all to ourselves. Our pilot was awesome; making it feel like we were seeing this marvel with a friend and not a tour company. The views from the air and the glaciers are unexplainable and truly breathtaking. Don't skip this one while you're here!

Knik Glacier

Want a helicopter tour of glaciers in Alaska? This IS the place. Located outside Palmer (which has a cute but small downtown) this place has cabins and offers some very cool possibly once-in-a-lifetime experiences like heli-hiking and heli-skiing complete with overnight accommodations and a private chef! We did the mild-mannered glacier helicopter ride stopping in Knik glacier. Seeing a glacier from above is WAY different from just seeing it from a ship or on a lower level field of ice. Military and day of discounts. Awesome!

What an amazing experience! From Lauren the Helicopter pilot to all the dog sled staff. It was amazing being able to drive the dog sled. 10 out of 10 rating ! From landing on the glacier and drinking the water to all the great views. Highly recommend .

Walking on the glacier

Second time doing this adventure. Absolutely awesome time again. Dylan, our pilot, was terrific. He landed us on the glacier. Breathtaking! Will do this again

Will is an awesome pilot, and Daniel was so much fun to ride with! We had an amazing time flying over the Glacier area and then sledding with the dogs! Playing with the dogs and puppies afterwards was such an awesome extra! I love how they were ALL so friendly and wanted pets and hugs, and gave us so many kisses!

Bring a water bottle to get glacier water!

Amazing company! What a great way to experience the Alaskan scenery! The helicopter ride was so fun I wanted it to go on forever. If landing on the Knik Glacier, remember to bring a water bottle to get the glacier water! Definitely recommend the Grand Knik Tour!

Our pilot Cody and myself.

This helicopter tour was amazing. Our pilot Cody is the best. Very professional knowledgeable and gave us the best experience ever. He explained the entire tour prior to take off. Was very thorough on his safety inspection and his customer service skills were impeccable.

I've had a lot of experiences in my 55 years, and this was probably one of the most amazing things I've ever done. Wyatt was an excellent pilot. We saw so much beauty and learned a lot. Alaska Helicopters also accommodated our 26yr old overweight, special needs son seamlessly, give him an experience of a lifetime. Just awesome. Thanks so much!

Sam is an incredible pilot that made me and my boyfriend feel very safe landing and taking off in remote locations. He was conversational, friendly and was mindful of what we wanted to see when taking us to the next location. (We did the two hour three location option) Knick glacier, a mountaintop, and another glacier with a landing nearby due to mounting snow. If you want an experience you'll never forget definitely book this!

Glacier water pool

Booked this flight online. Got picked up by sprinter style van at the Hilton in Downtown Anchorage and brought out to the resort. The van driver was great guy, excellent personality. we had a very enjoyable ride to and from the resort. Our helicopter pilot was fantastic. Took us out along each side of the glacier and then landed us in the middle by some of the big crystal blue pools. We'll worth the time and price.

Glacial crevasses

Amazing experience - Cameron did a stellar job piloting and was super informative and engaging. He went out of his way to point out animals (which we loved) and we had a great time at all three landing spots. I would not listen to any of the (few) negative reviews on here - it sounds like they were hoping for a theme park not a glacier tour. This company is extremely easy to work with and the price is very fair for the incredible experience you are given. Do it.

We had an amazing experience! Connor and Turner were very knowledgeable about the glaciers and where to spot wildlife. We were able to identify a black bear, moose and 2 swans. My friends rode with Turner and I was in another helicopter with a different couple with Connor. They didn't rush us at all. Very accommodating and took some photos for us too!

Prince was our tour guide and he was casual, knowledgeable and made history interesting!! Not only did he tell us all about important places, but he let us out to explore. We visited the ULU factory, the Captain Cook memorial, Earthquake Park, and a beautiful overlook where we saw the Chugach Mountains, Talkeetna Mountains and Denali (in the distance). Prince knew interesting stories and historical facts. We are tour directors here for the season and we learned a lot from him!

Review #11 for 2026…read more Our group went on this tour while on our Alaskan Adventure. It is a one hour tour that starts at the Anchorage Visitor Center. We arrived early to explore a bit of downtown beforehand. Booking was super easy. I called to book and they were super easy about the booking and payment, telling me I could either pay at check-in or use the emailed link and pay ahead of time. It is normally $25 a person for the one hour tour. We had used the Alaska TourSaver book and there was a coupon inside for BOGO free tours! There is a max of 2 coupons allowed per tour according to the coupon, so book ASAP if you are using the coupon. We had 2 coupon books for our group of 4 adults and were able to use both! Our 14 month old baby at the time was also free. So the tour was super cheap! There is free parking around downtown, but as with anywhere you go, make sure you read the signs to make sure. There is NO bathroom at the visitor center or on the bus, so allow yourself enough time to go to the bathroom first!! We had to walk to a nearby hotel to use the bathroom before going on the tour. This tour was short, so there were no hop-on, hop-off photo stops. However, the tour was informative and we all enjoyed learning about the city. My baby boy seemed to also really enjoy the tour. The bus was not full, so we were able to spread out. We also get a reindeer hotdog from the stand right by the bus and it was a great idea because it kept our toddler busy munching while enjoying his tour! They do allow food and drinks. Just be mindful and take your trash with you and keep the bus clean. They also have a place to store strollers while on the tour if you had on like we did. Would I come back? I think this is more of one of those things you do when you are in town for the first time. It is not really a tour you go on each time you are in town. However, I would not mind checking out the other longer tours. If you do travel to Anchorage, check out this tour!! It's affordable, even without the coupon and is a good intro into the town and history.

I booked the day before, the morning of the owner texted me to confirm that I would be picked up at my Airbnb, Billy texted me notifying me when he was on his way. He was kind, responsive, full of information, considerate, and willing to tailor the speed and details to the needs of the group. He truly made this trip enjoyable. Van ride to the glacier is about 100 miles, we stopped at a gas station about half way. We stopped twice for two photo opportunities, and then made our way to the glacier gift shop to sign waivers. Then drove down to the launch point of the trek. There are ample bathrooms down there. Billy did not accompany us on the glacier but that was okay, our guide at the glacier was super sweet and knowledgeable. I felt more than safe! You walk across a floating bridge to get your microspikes and then we spent about 2-2.5 hours trekking the glacier. You do spend most of the hike on the rocky surface, but we did a pretty steep climb on the blue ice to get to the top of our area, we drank glacier water (amazing) and then saw the base of the glacier which was stunning. Post trek we returned to the tent and met up with Billy, he had snacks waiting for us and then drove us up to the lodge for lunch. After lunch we made the drive back, and again Billy was willing to accommodate different drop off points.

Hotel pickup was super helpful since we didn't rent a vehicle. Lori made a bathroom/coffee stop 45 minutes into the drive. We stopped at a local coffee shop which was so thoughtful instead of stopping at your typical gas station. Afterwards we arrived at our destination for the dog sled tour. We went during the winter and it gets very cold when you are moving on the sled! We are from Arizona so we didn't have snow boots or other items on hand. Luckily snow shoes, heavy gloves, beanies, etc were provided for us to change into so that we stayed nice and warm on the sled. We were paired up and got the chance to sit down and ride in the front of the sled which was perfect for taking videos and pictures. And the other person had the chance to stand up at the back of the sled. We warmed up with a delicious lunch at a nearby lodge and made our way back to Anchorage. Overall, we had such a great day thanks to Lori and the dog mushers. It was truly a one of a kind experience! Highly recommend 907 Tours.

The trip was the perfect medicine to unplug me from an over-scheduled, over-programmed, and highly electronic career for a solid week. It pushed me mentally and physically, but never did I feel unsafe. I returned to work in a better frame of mind and with my whole body in a state of "a good kind of sore". Hats off to Don, and our guides (Sandra and Roz) who really made the stay wonderful. And, I never expected to be complimenting the camp food, but it was AWESOME!!! Sandra's breakfast burrito could be on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives! I am already thinking about coming up with a new itinerary for 2016 and going back to the Exposure Alaska crew for another week of killer Alaska wild.

We decided to book the Matanuska Getaway, which is only a 3 day trip because we figured we would want to go explore other parts of Alaska on our own. We had such a blast with Exposure, we wish we had booked a longer stay with them. The owner Don, was so helpful throughout the entire booking process, and recommended places to see and stay during our time after Exposure. The views of the glacier, the wild life, the planned tours and our amazing guides, all surpassed our expectations. They were awesome! Our guides were professional, knowledgable, friendly and we felt like close friends by the end of the trip. They were able to adjust our experience based on our skill and physical ability levels, which added more excitement to our trip. Our safety was paramount at all times and we had full confidence in their abilities to guide our adventure. Moreover, the food at the camp was great! We were expecting beans and weenies and other cliche camping food, but what we got was some great Alaskan cooking: Fresh Salmon, BBQ chicken, homemade breads and granola, among other things. In addition, while there was a lot of stuff to cover on our daily agenda, there was also a lot of time to relax and unwind. It was the only vacation where I didn't think about work, unless someone asked me about my job. Normally, when we go somewhere we still have home somewhere on the mind, but not here. Finally, this experience didn't seem touristy. After we finished our trip with Exposure, we spent a few days in other parts of Alaska, and the tours we did just weren't the same.
