I called to ask availability and the manager answered within 2 rings. He was welcoming and friendly! We met the team at the corner of 4th and E streets and they were all so peppy. Prince was our tour guide and he was casual, knowledgeable and made history interesting!! Not only did he tell us all about important places, but he let us out to explore. We visited the ULU factory, the Captain Cook memorial, Earthquake Park, and a beautiful overlook where we saw the Chugach Mountains, Talkeetna Mountains and Denali (in the distance). Review #11 for 2026 Our group went on this tour while on our Alaskan Adventure. It is a one hour tour that starts at the Anchorage Visitor Center. We arrived early to explore a bit of downtown beforehand. Booking was super easy. I called to book and they were super easy about the booking and payment, telling me I could either pay at check-in or use the emailed link and pay ahead of time. It is normally $25 a person for the one hour tour. We had used the Alaska TourSaver book and there was a coupon inside for BOGO free tours! There is a max of 2 coupons allowed per tour according to the coupon, so book ASAP if you are using the coupon. We had 2 coupon books for our group of 4 adults and were able to use both! Our 14 month old baby at the time was also free. So the tour was super cheap! There is free parking around downtown, but as with anywhere you go, make sure you read the signs to make sure. There is NO bathroom at the visitor center or on the bus, so allow yourself enough time to go to the bathroom first!! We had to walk to a nearby hotel to use the bathroom before going on the tour. This tour was short, so there were no hop-on, hop-off photo stops. However, the tour was informative and we all enjoyed learning about the city. My baby boy seemed to also really enjoy the tour. The bus was not full, so we were able to spread out. We also get a reindeer hotdog from the stand right by the bus and it was a great idea because it kept our toddler busy munching while enjoying his tour! They do allow food and drinks. Just be mindful and take your trash with you and keep the bus clean. They also have a place to store strollers while on the tour if you had on like we did. Would I come back? I think this is more of one of those things you do when you are in town for the first time. It is not really a tour you go on each time you are in town. However, I would not mind checking out the other longer tours. If you do travel to Anchorage, check out this tour!! It's affordable, even without the coupon and is a good intro into the town and history. read more

Loved the stops on the tour. The deluxe is the best option as you're able to hop off to explore every stop. The guide unfortunately, spoiled the tour. Upon entering the bus, he immediately asked if we are Democrat or republican, made insufferable jokes about pro sports teams, the 48 states, continually boasted how Alaskans are nice and "will help if you're on the side of the road regardless of skin color." He wouldn't stop, my goodness. So much to the point I started avoiding him during stops because he kept interrupting my videos with commentary on how democrats don't own g*ns. Bad enough he offered to take a few photos of us and then I see his selfies in my camera roll. read more

We had about 5 hours to kill between our cruise and our flight back home, so we booked the deluxe tour online (they also take walk-ups). It was a great tour of the city, and we got to see so many things (people fishing and catching salmon, earthquake park, a moose momma and baby, sea planes taking off and landing at Lake Hood). Our driver was very friendly and knowledgeable, and it turned out to be the perfect and quick way to see Anchorage. read more

We were only in Anchorage for a short time and the deluxe tour was a perfect fit. There were 4 hop off spots for pictures and a little walking around plus lots of info and points of interest shared on the driving in between. Ty was our guide and he was genuine and enthusiastic. He gladly served as photographer, kept us on track but never rushed the group. I was so hopeful to see a moose and his trained eyes saw one wayyyy across a field! The tour guide let a situation get out of control. When we returned to the trolley, he did not tell us to return to the same seat as the one we had when we initially had when we boarded. This caused a rube to take my backpack and jacket, and place them on the floor so he could have my seat. It almost escalated into a fist-fight incident. He should have taken control of the situation and told everyone to return to their original seats when we boarded. I suggest you find a more professional trolley company. (This is not the first review to condemn the actions of this company's guides, so they really need to do a better job at vetting and training their drivers). read more

I have been to Alaska and the Anchorage area a number to times but this was my first time on the a Trolley Tour! It really exceeded my expectations, and a large part of that was our amazing tour guide Allison! While I knew most of the information on the tour, it was her way of presenting it that really made the tour special. Her humor, songs, local knowledge and experiences really put this tour over the top for me! The out of towers I was with LOVED it as well and thought it give an excellent overview in the hour tour. The Anchorage Trolley is ride through Anchorage for an hour. It takes you through Anchorage to see some of the many sights. On this Trolley ride, it won't be stopping, so that you can get out and walk around. If you sit on the side behind the driver, you won't get to see as well as if you're seated on the other side of the trolley as most of the sights are on that side. If you get Alice as your trolley driver, she can get a little snippy. She got mad because she could hear the shutter on my camera and said to turn it off. I wouldn't recommend a ride with her. This would have been 5 stars, but some stars were lowered due to Alice's snippy attitude towards me. read more

We went on the deluxe trolley tour (1.r hours) and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Not only did we learn about the history of the area and wildlife, there were 4 opportunities to stop at beautiful scenic spots for pictures. Our tour guide (a Marketing major) was a wonderful storyteller with huge enthusiasm for wildlife. He went out of his way way to safely navigate the road so we could all take pictures of a mother moose and her 2 babies from the bus as well as offering to take pictures for guests aboard. Whether you're in Anchorage for a day or a week, highly recommend going on the tour. It's a nice way to spend some time, especially during Alaska drizzle/rain! read more

Dave was an excellent tour guide. A life long resident, he had stories galore. Our tour was fully booked but it really didn't affect our experience. Our tour lasted just under 2 hours and we learned a lot about Anchorage. Since we weren't going to be in Anchorage too long, we decided to do a trolley tour to get the most out of our time... Well, this was a great choice because more than anything, our Driver/Guide was AMAZING! Think her name was Alice, and she was a total comedian, as well as an awesome singer!! Alice aside, we both thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the city as well. Think of all the quaint cities/towns I've been to in Alaska (others include Ketchikan, Skagway and Juneau), I liked Anchorage the best. Not quite a metro, but a nice, charming, little city with some unusual landmarks, including this Helicopter neighborhood (if you can call it that?). Since a tad more developed, their restaurants seemed more sophisticated as well. Of course, like the rest of Alaska, stunning views everywhere! read more

We took the deluxe trolley tour and our guide was funny and informative. The trolleys themselves are also pretty cool. The main problem was that the sites we visited were just okay. The best one by far was Earthquake Park, which was quite interesting. The floatplanes at Lake Hood were okay - if you've never seen a small plane up close. The rest of the sites were nothing special (I don't even remember them). The trolley tour was fairly inexpensive and not too long, for those who are time-constrained. If you have all day, take a tour van to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, Turnagain Arm and the Alyeska Resort & Tram. It costs a lot more but well worth it. read more

This was a very fun tour of downtown Anchorage. Our tour guide/driver Alice was not only hilarious but a great singer! My daughter took me on this tour as a mother - daughter date for my last time out here before she moves back home and I was so thrilled. We had a great time learning about some history around Anchorage, seeing the sights, and watching the floatplanes take off at the "airport". If you are ever in Anchorage this would be a great item to add to your to do list. It's close to the Anchorage museum and the Anchorage PAC so you could do an all day stop downtown. read more

When visiting Alaska, this is a top priority before you start venturing off in the city. Its a plus to know where to go, see things you would like to come back to later when you have your own vehicle. Allow someone else to drive while you are looking at the great views (looking for moose/bears). We did the one hour tour with Alice. SHE. WAS. PHENOMENAL. She is probably the best tour guide we have met. -Knowledgable about the history of the state & city hot spots -great recommendations (wild scoops, alaskan wild berry products, best clam chowder in town, etc.) -great performer/singer (we were never bored on her tour, I was actively listening which is also rare) -great driver (I never once got dizzy) -Hilarious, her jokes are terrific Overall very blessed we did the tour with Alice, I rarely tip because these things are usually so boring, but I definitely had to tip her. The trolley driver began with some "jokes" which deteriorated into an ongoing offensive monologue about his wife, his family, and other personal issues.
