My fiancé and I had an unbelievable time!! Mark Miller and his staff gave us the best Alaskan experience anyone could ever ask for! First off.. the only way to get there is by Bush plane from the Anchorage airport. We were picked up and flown to the beautiful and quite Talaheim lodge. Once we landed we were given a tour of the grounds, which are beautiful and we were taken to our cabin. My fiancé and I had our own two story cabin with running water, electricity and a fireplace. It was perfect! During our vacation at the lodge we went on fishing excursions with our very own guide (who made us a great lunch), we went heli-hiking to Beluga Mountains, we took a helicopter to a glacier, we read, relaxed, had the BEST food and heard the most amazing stories that were told by the owner, Mark Miller. I would go back from Mark's stories alone. He was an incredible host and has a very friendly and talented staff. I can't wait to go back!

Everything they promise on their website is that much and more. We were greeted by the staff upon arrival by plane, and shown our accommodations. We loved our cabin next to the lodge and it was the perfect comfy cozy room to come home to after a long day on the water. The food was amazing! The guides all knowledgeable, the sights seen from a helicopter priceless including a HUGE grizzly on a ridge, 3 black wolves and bull moose grazing. It is hard to not repeat the previous reviewer but add instead. Both my husband and I are experience flyfishers and the fishing was smokin' hot! We used streamers, egg and mouse patterns, droppers, poppers and dries when needed. We lost count of fish count within the first hour or two. They are measured by pounds not by inches. Silvers, Dollies, Pinks, 'Bows, on and on......Since this is a small lodge, you became friendly with the other guests and staff pretty quick. A fun group. I appreciated the snacks and drinks in the mini fridge that was refreshed daily as well as the Alaska Ale on tap and wine after a long rewarding day out. The scenery spectacular and whole experience amazing We would go back in a heart beat and hope to soon.

I loved that we were inconspicuous and the vehicle didn't scream tourist with any branded stickers or crazy paint jobs. The gas mileage was great, and the bed was comfy! Some bedding is provided, and it was the perfect weight for the summer weather. The van curtains weren't black out, but we felt it made the interior plenty dark enough to sleep. Overall, we had an excellent experience and would 100% recommend Northern Access.

Were able to get picked up at our one nights of real lodging and then dropped the car off at the airport which was also very convenient. I would definitely rent here again especially as it is a locally owned small business enterprise.

Avoid this place! First, they are overpriced - almost every other major car rental company in…read moreAnchorage is cheaper. Second, Cheapwheels forces you to buy their extremely pricey "insurance," which is void if you drive off-road (a problem for a state with so many B&B's that require driving on unpaved roads), and it requires a $1 to $2,000 deductible! No other car rental company requires such an outrageous deductible if you buy their coverage, and every reputable place will have basic insurance built into the rental cost itself. Additionally, Mike and Cindy are extremely shady and unethical businesspeople. Not only did they not explain how minimal their required "insurance" coverage is despite its exorbitant cost, but they also charge a $100 non-refundable deposit, which is unheard of in the car rental industry. This 'deposit' scheme was not adequately explained to me, of course, and was nowhere in writing. My credit card company is now attempting to get the money back after I had to cancel the reservation (after I found out about their shady insurance policy), and it is money that they basically stole.

However, after dealing with this company I think that "Crooked" is actually a term I would describe the manager and the owner. It is my understanding there have been numerous "extraordinary" events which would keep Warren from returning phone calls. Instead he would simply screen the calls. However, when someone eagerly takes money for a service and then refuses to answer the phone, texts, and emails I find no excuse. I have been waiting to fulfill a dream of a guided Alaskan fishing trip for more than 20 years. When I spoke to Warren (Gen Mgr) at the Sportsman's show in Boise he was very friendly. He gladly took my information and my money. However when a hiccup arose, he refused to answer any of the three phone numbers he'd given me. He did not answer emails. I spoke to him one time to try and rectify the situation, and he never called me back or answered. I finally had to dispute charges to my credit card. I hope those of you reading this will think twice about giving this company your business. If you do give the, money, I hope it works out for you, and you have a great fishing adventure. Caveat Emptor FYI: Crooked Creek received two horrible reviews on Facebook. I'd tell you to go read them, but it appears the management decided to erase the reviews from their page. The questions that he didn't have an answer for he sent a guide over to help us. The park is set up nicely with grass and trees around you. It gives you more of a camping feeling opposed to being on rock or concrete. If you're going to area I would definitely recommend this place.
