Would not accept return of an obviously defective product…read more I bought a black velvet dress to wear to a formal event. I had to pay cash, as this store does not take credit cards for purchases under $50. The dress was on sale and marked "final sale," so I threw away the receipt. The night of the event, after putting it on and fiddling with it a bit, I found that my fingers and fingernails were covered with blackish, purplish dye, which had rubbed off from the dress. I couldn't wash it off with soap and water, and had to use nail polish remover (and ruin my manicure) to get it off. I had to wear something else. I took the dress back to the store the next day with the tag. The salesperson called her manager to see what to do. The manager hung up on her, then she told me they would not take it back. She said I could come in tomorrow (again) when the manager would be there, but that the sale was final. A final sale of an unwearable dress seems like a big-time consumer fraud to me. I guess the $40 means more to them than their reputation. Needless to say, I will not shop there again.
