I could not be happier with the service I received. I was a little skeptical with only two reviews, but the service was absolutely five star. AJ was super responsive, professional, and accommodating. (1) The first business to respond to my request for service. (2) The first business to give me a quote from Yelp. (3) The best price out of all businesses quoted (including the dealership) (4) Asked just enough questions to understand my unique situation and provide an immediate solution. If I ever need an auto locksmith again, without question I will contact Alarm Command. A little background if you care for details: I own a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. I lost my only key to the vehicle, and so I had it towed to the nearest Ford Dealership thinking they would be the best option to create a new key. The person on the phone prior to me having it towed confirmed they could create a new key for me. Come to find out Ford deletes all key codes for cars older than 10 years for "security reasons." So the dealership has to hire a locksmith to get the code for then from the vehicle. This was on a Friday morning. Tuesday rolls around and I still don't have a new key, so in desperation I begin looking for my own locksmith. I explain I don't have an original key, the car is at a dealership, and I can't be there with the vehicle due to my schedule. AJ worked with me through all of it and handled all the ID verification, Invoice, and payment through text and email. AJ showed up first thing Wednesday morning, updated me on progress with texts to my cell, and was completed by 11 am. Just like the other reviewer, I was a bit skeptical about the service because of the few number of reviews on Yelp. I was desperate to have my car key duplicated ASAP so I tried them out. I just had my car key duplicated from them and I have got to say that they were excellent. I put out a request for a quote late last night and they were quick to respond--we set up our meeting this morning and they came to me by noon. AJ arrived on time and was very quick with getting my key duplicated and testing them. The spare key was duplicated nicely and works fine on my vehicle. Overall, the process was smooth and easy. Tl;dr: The guy had no idea what he was doing, was unprofessional and did not complete the job. He actually broke the car further. If I could give this experience negative stars I would... my friend lost her key so we had two options. Tow her car to the dealership or get a locksmith. We did a price comparison and even though the locksmith cost more we thought it would be worth the money to just get the car fixed on the spot as my friend's first day of work (teacher) was the very next day and we wanted to go with the least stressful option... we were wrong. The guy showed up around 9 after he told us his first job was running long, and got to work. He had a hard time opening the car with the rod (the triple a guy popped it open the first try), which in retrospect was already a warning sign. Around 11:15pm I went outside to tell him I didn't want to rush him but wanted to understand when he thought he would be done and he said 15-20 minutes. Midnight rolled around and he texted us saying he could NOT COMPLETE the job due to a scheduled maintenance window. I went outside to talk to him and he said there was a known window in which he couldn't reach the servers to get the password to finish reformatting the car. I asked him if it was a known window when it would be done (he had no idea - fair) and if it was known why didn't he plan accordingly. He said he needed to go back to his office to "try other systems." I asked when he would be back to fix the car he had put in an inoperable state and he said he could text at 4am and would show up at 5am. We agreed and he left. Around 1:30am we got a text saying we should find another locksmith... I called him and he said oh, it's just an option if you need your car earlier. How could I get it earlier if they were blocked by the same maintenance window as him? Keep in mind this person advertises 24/7 which in our experience was not true. Maybe for a house key but not for a car key. The guy said he was researching a solution and would let us know if he found something and at this point the answers start changing coming out at 5/6am becomes a "maybe" and he doesn't have access to other systems and can't get a password. I tell him I understand if he is unfamiliar with the car make and model and ask if he has any coworkers (he doesn't the number on here is his cell) who know Toyota Corollas better than he does. Btw toyotas are as common as they get... my friend also has a turn key Toyota so no fancy key fob programming is involved (honestly surprised the other reviews say he can do those). At this point he gets hostile and says "well you lost your key" (he doesn't realize he is talking to me and not my friend). I ask him why the circumstances matter as people only go to locksmiths when they need a key. We were in need and the fact that she lost it does not mean you as a service professional should start blaming your customer. He then says "well you haven't paid me" to which I asked "paid you for what?" He put my friend's car in an inoperable state that to go anywhere else we would have to redo everything just to start at square one (he had cut a key, replaced the locks, and started some form of reprogramming). He then tried to tell me "I'm helping you." Well yes, that is what services typically do, but it is not from the goodness of your heart you are doing it to get paid. If I work at Starbucks and I tell you I'm helping you by delivering your drink do you feel indebted to me? I told him we had another option and chose him because we had confidence in his ability to get the job done when he said he could do it but he seemed to have zero confidence in his ability to fix it based on his non answers. We ended the call with him agreeing to text at 4am and come at 5 (which he caveated if he had a solution). He never texted, and he didn't show up. He actually left a message we sent asking if he was going to complete the job at 6am on read (next level petty). My friend ended up getting a tow and get this... they had no idea what he was doing to the car (are we even surprised?). He disabled the car alarm and they were like... he didn't need to do that. They said at max it would take a couple hours to fix and made no mention of a "known scheduled maintenance window." read more
