I wish I had read the reviews before coming here. I specifically came to this location because they had great deals online for an oil change. When it was finally my turn for my car to be worked on, they said it would $50 more than their website had listed online. I showed them their online pricing and they said that wasn't them. I showed them it was their website, exact address, even pictures on their site that showed this was in fact their website. They just laughed and said it wasn't their prices. So beware that this place pretty much makes up whatever price they think they can get out of you. read more

Honest review & word of caution for anyone considering going here. I don't want the same thing that happened to me, happen to someone else. I've been coming to this place for years for my oil change only. Been a good experience each time. However, the last 2 times I went (2024-2025) I had a weird experience. In 2024, after the oil change, a few days later, my sensor light came on. Took it back to Alamo, they checked it & they told me the shop just up the hill next to them could help me fix it. I did, cost about $280. This last time I went recently, I went by myself (I usually go w/ my boyfriend). Got my usual oil change set up. I did get asked if I wanted to clean my oil? Something along those lines. I've never been asked that before in all the years I've taken it there. The mechanic said a quick car maintenance term I didn't understand, & I had to ask again what it was. I said no thanks, I just have enough for the oil. A few days later on my way to work, my car was losing power little by little. It got so bad, I had to make an emergency stop off the freeway to my mechanic who did my recent brake change & a lot of the past work for my car. Right before getting there, my car wouldn't go past 20 mph. After some time there at the shop, he found that the cap to my transmission oil had been slightly loosened, just enough for it to leak but not look like much was done to it. And underneath my car where I parked it at the shop, was a stream of transmission oil coming from underneath. He fixed it, and told me to not go here anymore just in case. Got there on Thursday to get an oil change before they tell me the price of my oil change of $120 because it is synthetic I couldn't tell them that I wanted the regular oil change. It was too late. When I got home (mind you I live in Fontana) my under carriage fell off. They didn't put back the clips to hold it back in place. I tried to call them and they are not answering. Now my under carriage is completely off and dirt is going to my engine. This place is over priced and irresponsible of putting things back the way they used to be. I have never had problems anywhere else, but since I was in the area and needed an oil change I decided to go here. Never again. Update: I finally got a call back 9 mins til they close. The service was superb! I was greeted by staff even though it's almost closing time they accommodated me. The price was fair and the staff has given me good recommendations for my vehicle. The service here is really bad. The people that work here don't care about customers. This place is near where I live so I have tried coming here multiple times (more than 4 times). When you arrive, you try talking to someone and you make eye contact with multiple people, you ask who can I talk to to multiple people and they just don't care. What's happening to Alamo Express Lube?? Your customer service is going way way down. I have been coming here since you guys first opened. Have been a loyal customer because Joaquin the manager is a super nice guy. I have taken a whole series of my personal vehicles here since day one. My experience today for a simple oil change totally changed my view of this place. OSCAR ORTEGA, one of their mechanics was so rude to me that I could not help but take it personally. He would brush off all my questions about my car's history and when I paid and ask what the codes on my receipt meant, he said it is for the company's information and not for me. I couldn't believe that I am not allowed to know my car's service history or he was just too lazy and too rude to explain it to me. The place was not even busy on a Sunday 2pm. So , I went to Joaquin and got a FULL explanation of everything on my receipt and my history. Thank you Joaquin. This guy, OSCAR ORTEGA, has been with Alamo for years and has ALWAYS been rude and intimidating to customers. I was just brushing it off for years until he rubbed me the wrong way today. Alamo management, I am mailing you a copy of this review for your records. And I wish you would do something about this employee otherwise you will be losing A LOT of customers. Bad first experience: Shady coolant replacement: The coolant was replaced by probably some generic yellowish looking liquid that isn't the usual pinkish coolant specific to my vehicle. Unnecessarily rude & destructive behavior, lacking courtesy for other's property: The biggest thing was, there is something I attached on the sun visor to the passenger side which holds things for you. I had some small little plushies hooked to it which are gifts of sentimental value to me. One of them was attached to the right side, & the string that is hooked is ripped off, the plushie was found on the floor, & even the thing that was attached to the visor is out of the visor on the very side the plushie used to be. It was clearly yanked on purpose & ripped off - Totally unnecessary move. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? Why not just open the visor normally without yanking the plushie? & they didn't even pick it up nor fix the visor attachment that was part hanging down. read more

They definitely try to con you into thinking you need more things done to your car when all you went in for was an oil change. Came here bc I needed an oil change and a car wash. Since my car requires synthetic oil, I was quoted $85 for an oil change and a "free" car wash. Kind of expensive, but okay. A few minutes after I agreed to the quote, the guy tells me my oil cap is screwed on too tight. They can unscrew it, but the cap will break so I need to buy a new one for $50. I told them, "no thanks" and went down the street for an oil change. Down the street quoted me $45 for a synthetic oil change, did it in less than 20 minutes, and said NOTHING about my oil cap being screwed on too tight. So yeah...... I'll take the $40 I saved on an oil change and go somewhere else for a car wash. read more

Came in here and there was a leak in my car overnight. I have a jack at home so I checked it out and my oil filter was loose! I had to hand tighten it myself and clean the oil and look what you know, the oil stopped leaking! Guys don't know what they're doing. BEWARE I have been coming here to get my oil changes for two years now. Why the bad review? I have since found two new mechanics for my beloved pet 2012 civic that charge me $30 for oil changes when the Alamo express overcharged me several times over (around 160$) and argued that car only uses synthetic oil, so it is expensive with no way around it. Being female, it is hard for me to find a place that would be honest. Shop around. Don't trust this place off the bat. Don't laugh at me, not too much at least. My family and I have been patrons of their business for at least 10 years now. They are honest, professional, quick, and very customer oriented. Prices are very reasonable specially since they give you a voucher for a free carwash next door. You'll love the Alamo car wash as well! I highly recommend this place. Came in on a Saturday afternoon and was helped immediately. Needed an oil change and I had been given a coupon from the car wash 2 weeks before so I'd thought I'd try it out since it's close to home. I had my oil change here. At first they told me that my car can't handle regular oil change and that I needed oil for turbo cars. I told them that I usually get a regular oil. The guy goes and talks to his manager and comes out and tells me they can't service my car. I said okay and then he checks my oil change info and says, "oh my manager says it's okay for regular oil change." Well okay so then he comes out again for the nth time and goes, "your filter is so dirty, you need a motor flush" so the oil change + the motor flush he charged me 90 bucks. A week after my oil change and motor flush my car started acting up. I took it to my mechanic and he got upset because the guys over here did a motor flush on my car. Basically they chipped me over that motor flush. Never go here. read more

I have read the bad reviews but I still went and tried it out thinking nobody would dare scam in my neighborhood especially not this one because this is usuallly where I get my gas and have my car washed. Before I went here I have never had problems with my Lexus hybrid. The one time I went here with my own synthetic oil, the main guy told me that my oil filter cap didn't have its spring and was going to charge me extra for a new oil filter cap. I already sensed there is something fishy going on. When I told them the mechanic that did my previous oil service was the mechanic that they know from a few stalls over and that I was going to talk to him after, the two people working here gave each other the side eye. I saw this and it made me more suspicious, and the fact that they quickly changed their story after, and for some reason they had a spring readily available that they put back on my oil filter cap.. at no charge! They also gave a filter at no charge.. all this after I mentioned I was going to confront their buddy because it was either them or that guy that messed up the cap. Fyi, the spring was not something that could easily pop off the cap. For it to be missing, someone had to literally take it off the cap manually. I will never go back. You've been warned. read more

The first time two times I came here for an oil change they charged me $76 which I was completely fine with paying. The third time I came they raised the price by ten dollars but I just reasoned it to an up charge because of the pandemic. Today I came in for the same oil change and they try to charge me $106! I called the guy out on the price and asked why the price kept increasing, so he went on his computer and all of a sudden the price of the oil change went back down to $86. Very surprised at the service I got from this place. Most places you would go for anything involving auto repair and maintainence are full of douchebag employees. This place completely caught me off guard. A staff so friendly, you swear you were getting screwed ^_^ :::EDIT::: I'm leaving my previous review to show that I'm not just one of those one time customers who just got pissed off at one incident. I normally don't write bad reviews, but I gotta say Elliot. Sorry, but you've lost a customer for life. I'd been going to your carwash next door for years. When I'd wrote a review for it, I gave it 4 stars because of the usual good service minus a few mishaps. Eliot, the owner of these two locations, messaged me personally and gave me a link to print coupons for oils changes at his location next door. I gave it the review above, however, today I am amending that. Every visit I make to Alamo Express Lube, I am always over pressured to have additional services done to my car that I didn't initially ask for. I understand that in your line of business, oil changes aren't enough to pay the rent, but all the excessive pressure I get from each and every one of your staff members has gone way overboard. The straw that finally broke the camel's back was my last visit to Alamo Express Lube. I drove it up and asked for the usual oil and filter change. After a few minutes, Julio calls me into the garage like usual and tells me, I need a transmission flush as well as a radiator flush. I told him that I'd already changed the transmission fluid about a month prior and he persisted to try to BS me and tell me that a flush will change out 100% of the fluid and is better than just a regular change. WRONG!!! Anyone reading this should do their own research on the internet. Theres a reason why companies design their transmissions to NOT drain 100% of the fluid. This is because, if your transmission fluid is completely new, the clutches in your transmission begin to slip, which would result in tugging leading to transmission failure. You would think that if Honda believed you're supposed to change 100% of the fluid that they would relocate the transmission fluid drain plug a little lower. Julio persisted in telling me that I was wrong and he knows what he's doing because he's a mechanic. Looking at the fact that my car is highly modified and that I do most of my own work, he's not a very bright person to assume that he could persuade me elsewise. I just get my oil changes done because it's only $20 to save me the mess, but I guess I'll be going back to dealing with my own filth now. Moving on with the conversation, Julio then told me that someone has "Topped Off" my radiator fluid with WATER and that it's bad for my enging because water rusts and radiator fluid doesn't. Surprise, I happen to know that radior fluid is a 50/50 with water. I then told him that I know how to do that myself. He wanted to charge me $150 for it. I said no. From there he INSISTED in TOPPING IT OFF himself with more "RADIATOR FLUID". I told him no, and he said, "I gotta do it man. I gotta do it." I told him, "No, it's my car and I did not authorize you to tamper with anything but the oil." He then told me to go back to the lobby as their company doesn't allow anyone in the garage. Okay, then why did he tell me to go in there to begin with? He then "wrapped up" the oil change and I was on my way. A month later, my car began over heating. When I took it to my mechanic, they said that my radiator had several leaks in it. Now, for those of you who don't know. It's normal for your radiator to rust internally because you've got water running on the inside of aluminum. However, it's usually just one leak that occurs, never to the point to where your radiator looks like swiss cheese. What my mechanic believes happened is that, Julio poured radiator flush into my system. For those of you who don't know, radiator flush is a chemical mixture you pour into your engine cooling system that cleans it out. It also gets rid of rust. However, it's not supposed to sit in your system for more than 15 mintues. This is because the solution is strong enough to dissolve rust. Overtime, it can also eat it's way through aluminum. Which explains my swiss cheese radiator. Unfortunately, I don't have proof that Julio poured that solution into my car because he sent me back to their lobby, and therefore, I cannot file suit against Elliot for a new radiator and motor. That's something that's going to have to come out of my pocket. I just wanted to spend some time to alert my neighborhood of what was going on to prevent as many victims as I can. Will Elliot continue his scam? Yes, because not enough people will read this. But at least you won't fall victim to his employees. read more

I can't believe nobody has rated this place. It's the one place I've always gotten my oil change and all that good automobile service. For the last 3-year I've not gotten any oil change from any other place except for twice, I got my oil change at Wal-Mart oil change center. Not that I didn't like Wal-Mart, but everything here at Mobil Express Lube were just much nicer to me. The service is great. The guys here do an excellent job. I'm always satisfied before I leave. AND the best part is when you do an oil change with them, YOU GET 1 FREE CAR WASH NEXT DOOR AT THE ALAMO CAR WASH! Isn't that just a great package deal?! A plus is that they're always fast with oil change. Ever time I go for an oil change I'm in and out in between 15 to 20 minutes. I love them. This one time I went to Wal-Mart, I went shopping for 1 hour & came out & my oil change wasn't done yet. I was freaking pissed off. After that time I never changed my oil change service ever again. My initial review was sincere, but I do appreciate Elliot reaching out to me directly. Regardless of his motive, I did accept his offer. I also expected him to reach out to me requesting that I edit my negative review; which he has not done to this day. I appreciate that as well. I don't usually trust mechanics.. After reading all these posts I hope I didn't get ripped off. I came in here asking for an oil change special at $36.99, but the gentleman said I need my transmission flushed. He said it would be $99. I asked if it was in dire need of being flushed. He kept saying yes, so I figured what's $99, right? At the end of the day they said the total would be $190. I told them I didn't know it would be so much and didn't have all of it on hand. They said pay what I can today and come back tomorrow to pay the rest and they will give me my print out of the services rendered once I pay in full. So I paid $100 on the spot and came back the next day to pay the rest. It was a different guy at the register this time. He said my balance left was $99. I only had $95 on hand, so He took what I had and gave me the print out of services rendered. I don't usually trust mechanics.. read more

This is one of the only places I could find open at 8am on a Sunday, so that was a major plus. They took me right in. My mechanic was Jose.I sat in the waiting room waiting for the typical upselling. My car was having trouble starting and I thought I needed an oil change but he then told me I needed a new battery.
